Moure hadn't actually ever attended a minipet training class, but when he mentioned hearing about the battling part of the class to his pets, Gibralter has perked right up and been practically nudging Moure out the door. Apparently, 'battling' was very much a trigger word of excitement for the boogeymon.

As such, Moure arrived at the classroom with the boogeymon happily perched on his shoulders, looking past the patchwork to all of the others around. Gibralter gave a happy snort when he spotted Edel, the frost demon being one of the few students that had come to Moure's room and been nice.

Moure realized that the instructor for this class had been his exam-giver, and mentally promised he'd have to do better here to prove that he wasn't as much as a failure as that exam had made him look.

Gibralter nudged Moure's head with his snout, directing the patchwork's attention to the frost demon. With a grin, Moure made his way over and sat in a desk next to her. "Hey Edel." He noticed the minipet with her and tipped his head while asking, "No Chives or Snow today?"

"OH, COME OOOON SATINE~!" Bea was tugging on the leash with a ghost treat hooked onto the other end. It was obvious that she was struggling to get her pet to get into the room. Damn thing was wriggling everywhere. "If you won't behave yourself, I'll separate you from Yves!" Bea stomped her feet at Satine, making sure she had her attention. Satine pouted and finally calmed down. "FINALLY!" Bea picked her up and carried the pet over to the sign ups. She scanned the sheet to see if she saw any familiar names. There were a few names that she recognized, and immediately looked up after signing her name.

"Willow!" Bea shouted for the tiger ghoul and made her way over to her. "Long time no see. I'm sorry for not keeping in touch after the um... interesting field trip," she said with a hint of sincerity in her voice.

Professor Proudfoot had actually been there for almost fifteen minutes. The professor was just around the corner from the classroom, dressed as boring as ever, the only color being radiated by a small mini-golem perched attentively on his shoulder. Proudfoot was mumbling under his breath and running a clawed hand through his hair over and over, oblivious to everything but his one-sided conversation.

"Miss Savage, I didn't know we both kept minipets." A pause. "No, that's just trite. Of course she does, she's in a minipet class, Penemue. Miss Savage... have you been doing something different with your teeth lately? No, no, no."

But when it seemed like there was just no more time to spare, he clicked his way hurriedly down the hall and into the classroom. The demon slid into the seat beside Professor Savage, feathers ruffled, though he gave the teachers and students who met his bespectacled eyes nods of acknowledgement. As soon as he half-turned his head to speak to Savage it felt like someone had cursed his tongue into a knot.

So he tried to focus on something else. The bats. Savage had brought several. Were they real minipets or a fashionable new spell he'd never seen before? His academic curiosity was piqued. The professor found his voice again about the same time as he pointed to a bat that was swooping past Savage's chest.

"Miss Savage, are those real?"

And Aymet was there too, wrestling with the leash of something large and completely unseen. Professor Malcolm was familiar with this minipet.

"Bad Dog," Aymet hissed at the invisible source of whining. Whether it was a criticism or a term of endearment, that and several other slightly more colorful phrases did nothing to get his invisible dog to settle down.

Ulmuka was as chipper as usual, grinning and clutching his minipet to his chest. Aurora did not wear a collar and had no leash. She was carried and placed wherever she needed to be. The strix recognized several of his friends, Edel, Willow & Amrita most prominently, but newer acquaintances as well, such as King & Yin. He waggled his talons at all of them but the room was rather full so he took one of the only available seats and set himself down.

Edel noticed Moure and Gibraltar almost immediately when they arrived, waving to them and greeting the two. Dingo too was slightly intrigued by their arrival, perking his head up from his curled up resting position, watching.

But at the patchwork's question, the Runic Inugami snorted and returned to laying his head back down on his front paws, as if to say those two would have been hopeless at this. “Just Dingo today,” she replied, patting the hound, “I'm glad to see you've been attending more classes recently!”

The ghoul looked around to room to see that quite a number of people have gathered, including another professor she recognised and Muka too. The frost demon returned the wave and settled back down to chat with Moure. “How has Gibraltar been? And Straye?”

Savage gave 'Helena' a toothy grin.

"Pests aren't my specialty sadly." Savage was indeed referring to minipets. Namely the three bats that she had following her. A voice wiped that toothy grin right off Savages face though. Mostly because she had not noticed Professor Proudfoot come in and let alone take a seat next to her. She was just a tad startled.

"OH HELLO PROUDFOOT," She turned to greet the other professor with a wave. "REAL? I don't think their plastic if that's what you mean," Savage knew what it was that Proudfoot was asking. She wasn't sure her self though so she dodged the question only slightly.

Thanatos just needed a way for his minipet to stop humping other minipets and producing minipets at a rate faster than he could shave them. This class seemed like 'a way'.

Dragain also needed an even number of students.

Aldo hopped over to the edge of his perch and launched himself over to Professor Proudfoot's desk, spreading his wings and executing a slow modelesque spin.

Oh, yes. They were real and they were fabulous.

Oh boy! Minipet battling? Wait, why were minipets battling? Was it a game? It sounded like a game. Nevertheless, Sibyl found herself skipping down the hall happily singing some..random tune about minipets and battling that made about as much sense as a noodidoot kicking a dragon's a**. She had intended on bringing said noodidoot, as Mr. Happyface would surely love to make new friends! But when she had tried to reach for him he had hidden from her.

Okay, one of her kingyogiri then! The pretty white and red one had stared at her with a happy face until a certain someone decided to leap into her arms.



Sibyl made the most unhappy face at first and tried to just run away. When she didn't spot him following her she had cheered up, but then when she got to the classroom...



There he was.

She made another unhappy face. The derpicorn stumbled and whickered, tiny little tongue sticking out of his mouth as he pranced unsteadily toward the ghoul he had claimed as his owner and nudged his head against her leg.

Malcolm looked at the sign-up sheet, lips pressed into a thin line; sure, there might be danger due to... Hunters, but school goes on. They are still kids - uh, those who were not professors anyway - yet they are fighting an adult's war. Hopefully, this would prove to be a bit of a distraction from whatever worries they might have. Besides, confidence and trust are needed for minipets to obey their owners, and those are things they'll need to face the challenges ahead.

"Thank you for attending class," He offered the students a smile as he kept the sign-up sheet, "I know that these are turbulent times, but life goes on. Mopping around like a bunch of dead gremlurks won't help." Sitting around on their hands won't help either.

"Ah, right. Before I continue, I see some new faces. I'm Professor Malcolm, and I'm honored to introduce to you some very special guests - some of your professors are here. I'm sure some of you are familiar with Professor Savage from human studies and Nurse Cricket from the various first aid and other health-related classes she had taken, and of course, Professor Walker - or as he had signed up as, Mikael - from... Something minipet related."

Or was it basic math?

"We also have a new professor, Professor Norvegicus, or Norvie, from Mad Science, with us today. Professor Proudfoot from Magical Theory is also a fairly new professor, although he had held a class prior to this." He gestured to each faculty member as he mentioned them, making sure that everyone could clearly see who's who before continuing, "Never be afraid to approach either of us for anything."

Well, Savage might try to break your boats and drown you, Cricket might eat you and Norvie might blow you up, but nobody said being a student was easy.

"I'm going to assign everyone a partner. Please find yourself a space - this place is big enough for everyone - and get your pets to battle," He turned around and started writing down names on the whiteboard, "Please cease fighting when one pet looks unfit to battle. There are special pumpkin pills for the minipets on my desk. Feed one to your pet after battling and they'll be right as rain."

Battle Mechanics

-> All minipets have 20HP.
-> All minipets attack with a 4d4; damage is calculated by taking away 6. If the number is above 0, it means that it was a hit. If not, it means a miss!
-> Example: I roll 2,3,1,4 = 10 - 6 = 4 (So my damage is 4!) | I roll 1,1,1,1 = 4 - 6 = -2 (So my damage is 0!)

-> You have ~4 days to do this!
-> The first minipet to bring the opponent down to 0HP is the winner!
-> Alternatively, whoever can get the opponent down to the lowest HP is the winner!
-> Put your minipet stats in bold + red at the bottom of your post, for example:
Vlad Jr's HP: 20
Damage: 0

Minipet RP

As with most things, there are certain rules you would have to follow when RPing your minipets...

-> Minipets cannot talk; some of them might be smart/well-trained enough to understand what you are trying to tell them, but they cannot speak our language!
-> Minipets, however, can understand each other perfectly well!
-> You can come up with your own battle moves as long as they're reasonable. For example, it is okay to have your Deathcharm breathe a little bit of fire, but not GIANT FIREBALL OF DOOM.
-> Keep in mind that certain minipets can't be out of water (Floresce for example) so try not to use those!

For people paired up with a professor - GET TO KNOW THEM! I tried to match up people based on how useful the prof might be to your char... But some might just be derp. :'D

"Mrr?" Mort blinked at the adventurous kushi-kushi before it was snatched up by its owner, who . . . Sally, he should stop staring. But pretty lady. But no staring. "S'okee," he told Amphi, tightening the hold on his leash before Brian could think to try and eat the unwary minipet; the dragie grumbled as a result. "Tasty - E-Er, nice minipet has. Like kushi-kushi, has some for self too."

To Yin, Mort returned the wave with his free hand, noting the familiar-looking minipet at the boil's side. Those ribbons looked awfully like the ones on the present Danny had given him way back when . . . Mrrrr. Maybe he should investigate? Or maybe it was starved and dead by now. Er. Whoops. "Hallo, Yin, Alex." That was an interesting . . . bunny? With the teefs. Brian glared at them both, unimpressed by their stupid fluffy no-good-except-for-trophy-holding meat bags.

And then, after the students had trickled in, the professor introduced himself (the same who had given him his exam no less), along with familiarizing himself with the other professors he might be working with soon. Magical Theory, Human studies, the nurse he knew all too well, another minipet-related deal, and . . .

Mad Science. Mad Science.

Professor Norvegicus might or might not have had a pair of immensely awed and excited eyes on him.

But for now he'd have to focus on the class, this class - and his newly assigned partner. "Mrr . . . Amrita?" He remembered her, the undead ghoul from sewing! Dragging Brian with some effort, he managed to find her and gave a nervous smile at her and her . . . also rather vicious looking minipet. Brian, for once, sized his opponent up with only a narrowed glare.

Ho boil.

Listening to the introductions, she looked at each professor introduced. She'd actually never been to any of their classes, so it was highly informative for her to find out these things, as it was. But being paired up meant she had to go find out who Dormin would be battling.

....

Sura did not know who 'King' was as she noted they were apparently matched up, the Colossus making the smallest hint of a face before she turned to look into the room with Dormin lingering around her feet looking attentive. They were a rather attractive pair side by side - they did say pets resembled their owners and they were a sign of just how that was true.

Stepping carefully, Sura began to look between the students and the teachers with the smallest hint of concern gleaming in her eyes.

"I am looking for King?" she pipped up. Maybe that would help.

Cricket could have cared more about being introduced, purposely ignoring when Savage attempted to get her attention, the Fracs in her arms wiggling and already trying to get away to go play and be a putz. "Warrior." she nudged him a bit, and Warrior looked up at her with a puzzled look, before resuming his wiggling.

As for who she was paired with...she recognized that name, and with the Fracs tucked into her arms she went to find Yin.

"Looks like we meet again." she noted thoughtfully.

Moure gave a nod to the Runic Inugami when Edel mentioned his name. "I see. Good to finally meet you Dingo." Moure tipped his head slightly, a thought coming into his mind. He gestured to the minipet with a slight grin, "Hey, Dingo's the one who brought me that slip of paper about the Horsemen room, right?" That's where he knew the canine from! He knew he'd seen him before, but couldn't place him until realizing that.

Moure scratched the back of his head with a little chuckle. "There's no chance Gib would let me miss this. Natural little guardmon that he is, he practically forced me out the door when I mentioned 'battling' to him."But yes, this also meant Moure was at more classes, so that was good.

Moure nodded, Gibralter tipping his head attentatively when he heard the ghoul say his name. "Gibralter's been doing well. Straye's been, well, Straye, so I assume the little puffball is perfectly fine. I'm sure they're both good. And thanks for wondering too, I'm sure Straye will be happy to hear that you asked about him." Moure nodded, then turned to look to the front of the classroom as the teacher started speaking.

As each of the Professors were introduced for the newer students, Moure reconfirmed which were which in his head. There were a few he actually didn't know, so the introductions were helpful. When they were instructed to find who they'd been paired up with for the matches, Gibralter's tail started wagging again, a strange sensation for Moure since the boogeymon was still on his shoulders and the tail kept brushing past his back. The patchwork looked back to Edel and gave her a smile, "Guess we part ways for a bit now. I'll come cheer for you if my battle get's out eariler."

Moure found the list and trailed his eys across to see who he was supposed to be sending Gibs against. A student named Alexander and their black rabbit? The undead quickly surveyed the room and located the minipet in question. He strode over, taking a moment to look over Gib's opponent's owner. An undead he hadn't met, apparently. Moure stuck out his hand for a handshake and nodded to their minipets. "You're Alexander, right? I'm Moure. You ready?" Gibralter jumped down from Moure's shoulder, long claws clicking against the floor. The reptilian/canine/whatever-Gibs-was seemed to be analyzing his opponent, tail flicking back and forth with excitement.

It was intriguing how many professors were at this class. Shun wasn't really sure what to make of it really. But in any case, it was about time to get started. Only, he was having a little bit of a hard time reading who he was supposed to be partnered up with.
