Nile did not know how long they waited, but time was getting on, and everything was quiet. Somewhere during the interval, the boy had opened his eyes and was staring blankly at the female with his large curious orbs. She seemed quite occupied with whatever was going on outside in the woods. Nile noticed she carried a peculiar scent... Fish? Bleh, it stung his sensitive nose.
His ears twitched as she spoke up, breaking the eerie silence. He had no idea what she meant by saying they might think they were looking for him, not her. Did they not even know who exactly they were after? ... People were confusing.
When she took the chance to look back at him, Nile continued staring. He blinked twice in rapid succession but otherwise stayed still. He was not particularly afraid anymore, just found the situation a little awkward. The person was quite talkative. As far as family went, he could only remember the person who had been taking care of him for the last ... well, he could not exactly keep up with how many years. Nile was saddened, his mind flashing with memories of a past he could never recoup. His heart sank at how badly he missed just having someone there, someone living.
Nile looked down, now lost in his thoughts. He was thankful at least, that the first time he is caught by someone he did not actually come to harm. When she moved, taking the horse to the cave opening, Nile awoke and gazed after her. He began to struggle with one of the biggest decisions of his life - should he go with her, or stay here? Staying meant safety, the comfort zone... But, going meant company, the open world, adventure even.
With several hesitant steps, Nile was at Keori's feet and looked up at her. He held out his right hand gingerly and took hold of the hem of her top. It was a simple answer, he would go with her. As far as talking went, he could but would not. The reason being a combination of not having had anyone to speak to for a few years now and being a little too shy to let out his voice.

Keori waited silently for the answer. The little boy was clearly terrified. Who wouldn't be? Coming into a cave, probably imagining some grand adventure of pirates and treasure, only to be help virtually captive by a stranger for a few hours and told that people might kill him if he went outside. When he finally came over to her, holding on to the hem of her shirt, she knew what he meant. "Okay little man." She said, bending to take a hold of him under the arms, and lifted him onto the horse. Years of helping her foster father made Keori stronger then she looked. The boy, despite being 11, felt quite light for her. After he was sitting on the back of the horse, Keori pulled herself on behind him, and took hold of the reins. "Hold on." She warned, guiding the boys hands to the horses mane to hold on to so he wouldn't fall. She didn't really know where they would go, but with a soft kick to the horse's sides, they started moving further into the woods, farther away from the life she's known for the past 10 years.

Nile squeaked in surprise when he was lifted, but did not resist. It was just odd being moved to easily, not that he was heavy at all - a little underfed and not one for excessive exercise. The horse back was so high as well though! He looked down at the far ground and squeezed gently on the horse's mane as the lady had directed. It was comforting that she got behind him, he took refuge in her closeness and trusted her not to let him fall.
The forest then started getting more and more unfamiliar as the horsie moved forward. The worn shack he had over the years become the sole owner of was being left behind, in a direction he was not even currently sure of. And so, the haunting of the little town had come to an end, the ghost passed onto a new, hopefully better realm. Nile did not know what to expect wandering so far from where he had always stayed, especially with a stranger, but he felt safe. He could only hope they did not have to spend a lot of time running from other people like she had before.
After some observation of the surroundings he could find little interest in the scenery, only passing trees and more trees, a sight he was quite used to. So, instead, Nile turned up his head, and gazed at the stranger. He had little trouble looking at her face from this angle, and his dark eyes blinked, but there was little else as interesting as the new person.

Philip froze as he heard a noise from the bushes behind him, his back was facing them. He had no idea what was out there and it sounded like they were running. He turned slowly to see if anyone was standing there but there was only the boy rider still sleeping on the ground but he could hear the running. He needed to be careful encase someone saw him; he may have grown up from the boy he once was but that didn’t mean someone could remember him. He still had his family’s unusual white hair. The noise was growing closer but it was unclear whether the person would stumble across them or not.
He slowly closed his eyes to enhance his listening, so he could hear the area around him and slowly he moved his hands in a ball shape. If he used his powers he would be without them for another two hours but he would rather do that than leave someone in danger. His hands formed a circle shape in front of him, the wind which had been blowing through the trees stopped as it was sucked into the vortex, although some had remained for him to listen to.
He could hear the bustle and chatting of the people in the town, the hooves of a running horse, he even heard the name Ahto, but no attention to it. People muttered it all the time. People used it as a way to get someone they liked in jail and out of the way. Employers used it on their bosses; neighbours used the name on each other. However these were all unimportant matters, what mattered was the person that was growing ever so close to where they were in the clearing. He had to focus on that person. His breathing got heavier as he held the ball of wind, tight and compact, a deadly weapon if made big enough, but this one was big enough to distract someone long enough to push them away whilst he ran.
Some could call him a coward for that but for Philip; it was a matter of survival. Life or death. Even knowing that the person was once a friend of his, he would still use it against it. Someone, once, more than ten years ago, had told Trantaus about their powers, how to get past their defences they used to protect themselves. Someone who had held great amount of knowledge of their lives, every single detail. They didn’t know who it was and it was unlikely that he would find out who did, so it was a natural defence for him never to repeat his name nor even let himself trust other people. He had built himself a wall and he was happy to stay in it, he only helped people and sold things.
Philip could still hear the running, over the leaves that had been pulled off the trees from children laughing and playing, so carefree but he was getting distracted, so very distracted from his main task. He could feel his grip loosening. He had to keep his focus or this use of power would be for nothing. He started to put more of his energy into controlling the ball of wind. He couldn’t let it go!

Scott awoke to the same sounds that startled Philip. Groggily, he moaned as he stood, his eyesight being flicked on to help him. He avoided looking at the boy, knowing that he did nothing to save his family as he looked towards the sounds of hoof beats. Then he noticed something. The wind was moving to one spot. Turning slowly, he could see the man's hands form a circle and in that circle, a disturbance, a haze.
That was why his heartbeat was familiar! It was Scott's. Well, it was like Scott's. It was the heartbeat of the Ahto family. Before him stood his brother, someone he had sorely missed for ten ears. Before him also stood an idiot who didn't trust him and now one of their sisters could be in trouble or worse.
Growling, Scott rushed up to him and took his collar, weakly. Even in rage he had not rested long enough to get as much energy as he needed. Throwing caution to the wind, quite literally, Scott yelled at him. "You idiot! You should have listened to me. Now for all we know our sister, sisters, or even young Nile could be dead!" Scott's fist came back as he wished to hit the white haired male, then rested at his side.

Philip’s eyes opened and the ball of wind was let lose in a random direction he had no control over, panicked and wide. The boy had seen him control the wind and he had just used his power up for the next two hours. Words flew in and out of his head, making no sense at all. He didn’t understand anything at that current moment, only that the guy had been about to punch him and then didn’t. Was he going to turn in an Ahto child for the money? Philip fiercely shook his head and pushed the other person away with both of his hands. He turned, grabbing his bag from the floor, and ran as quickly as he could, pushing the trees away as he scrambled further and further away from the site. He had lost his blanket and his food but he had some things in here that would make him survive. It wasn’t the first time he had gone hungry and it wouldn’t be the last.
He didn’t know where he was going though, he wasn’t heading in any direction, and he just kept on running. He fell a few times but he couldn’t let the other person catch him. Philip didn’t know who he was; he didn’t know what to do. He was an Ahto child and he had been seen using his powers, for the first since he had left home, he had been nearly caught by what he presumed was one of Trantaus’ followers.
