Name: Talise Ramirez
Name Meaning: Roughly Translated "Protector of lovely water" which is Spanish origin
Personality: Talise is a girl who is mysterious and very soft-spoken. Yet sometimes she's like the turning pages in a book with no idea of the final ending. She's usually around a water source, be it the out cove near the Oasis or within her own personal dwelling that flows through her residence. In general she keeps to herself, but she's not afraid to step into the limelight when she is needed as the leader of her sect. She cherishes her ability to change the tides at a whim because it's her closest loved one. In general she can be a lazy sort which her elegance has overshadowed. However, even in her subdued nature she can be quick when she is wronged or otherwise lied to. Though minimal, her emotions are sometimes quite random and can flare into a "tidal wave", which make her a good candidate for the position she was chosen for.
Overall, even in the time of battle, she is always found meditating and giving thanks to the water. For it is her life and her love.

Backstory: Once, there was a story murmured among the D'jinn of a war that claimed many lives. Within that tale there was an infant child found among the ruins that was holding onto a flask of water. She was an orphan of course, being very quiet and subdued by the chaos, but strangely not scared or effected by it. The ones whom rescued her were a higher class of individuals of the Water village, Aguas Frescos "meaning cool waters". Here she was raised and given a name Talise Ramirez from her new wealthy parents whom carried the name "Ramirez". In short, the surname meant "wise protector". Her name Talise was granted to her from the findings of the water flask she gripped so tightly.
Rumors spread of this child as she grew more beautiful that she was reminiscent of "Agua" itself. They even went so far to say that her little flask had protected her from certain death itself. As she grew the rumors faded away as most of the townsfolk noticed her innate abilities to control and subdue the water at her command. Her mysterious gaze and a flick of her wrist could twist water that it swirled in ribbons or into shapes. Being around water always made Talise feel safe and content. It was relaxing and otherwise security to keep her strong and alert. She spent most days among water speaking silently as it flowed around her.
When she reached the age of 16 her foster parents were quite proud of Talise's abilities speaking in meetings and crowds of her capabilities. Word reached outward to the Great Queen of this amazing girl. Thus she was called to her audience to see the wonderment and possibilities of her abilities. Talise was a little hindered with such attention, but she kept it low-key, keeping her head upright and her outlook never slouched or unmannerly. It was a great honor to meet the queen herself, but was it really what she wanted? To become a leader whom was trusted to protect the people around her?

"My Talise, you have been promoted to be the Sect Leader of Agua as per the Queen, Aliyah Usmani. Isn't it wonderful?"
Talise lounged quietly within her sacred waters as they lapped against her arms and torso. Her eyes closed lightly as things corresponded and floated in waves within her mind. She had always been a shy girl and now it was showing through with thoughts of hesitation of meeting her queen. Feeling the coolness of the water subdued her worries though, bringing clarity and reason to her priorities. Still, she pondered the one thing that hesitation whispered sneakily in her mind; War. She had of course been a child of the old wars brought to live among her loving parents in Aguas Frescos.
Calling to the waters, they swirled around her like a cradle, or even a mysterious lover. They spoke to her in tongues only she knew, whispering words of encouragement and praise. She smiled then and floated gracefully from her sacred pool.
"Yes I know I am needed, and I will do what I am asked," she spoke in a soft tone as she looked within a mirror to fix her hair. It was a rare thing for her to gaze upon herself, but when she did she marveled at how she'd grown from the War orphan she had been when first found. For a moment her eyes flickered, feeling the pain and suffering of war, in turn causing the waters in her pool to become restless and wild. She took a breath and calmed her thoughts, letting her cherished water to resume it's normal ebb and tide effect.
Soon there was a knock at the door that made Talise snap to attention....
"Talise, are you soon ready? The queen is awaiting your audience, M'Dear. My, look how beautiful you have grown" spoke a royal woman with clear blue eyes that mimicked the water she so loved.
Talise nodded, hugging her mother, "I am ready to meet Queen Aliyah Usmani. Our countrymen need me, and I am determined to do just that. It is an honor to be chosen for such a grandiose part in this life. Wish me well mother.. I shall make you proud".
Stepping out of her water chamber, she smiled as her hand laid gently upon the small bag at her side. Within it was the sacred water that had been within the flask that was her protector, guide, and soul when she had been only a babe. Whatever came her way would be a fleeting wave, for her determination was the clear resonance that had given her the strength to carry on.
Talise floated forward to the chamber doors of the Queen's audience, taking a deep breath of encouragement before entering with head held high. "M'Lady I am here for my audience. It is an honor to meet you in person..."
