Laying in her bed, lost in the deep concentration that was required to read her books, Jehane could not help but feel restless. Something, like the prickle of sharp pins prodded her skin, it raising bumps that had not come to life for some time on her cold, dead flesh. What was this?
She had been tormented with dreams for the past few mornings, her min conflicted, pulling tugging and becoming near undone before she woke, was this that same power? That same tormentor now coming to her awake as it did as she slept?
She slowly set her book aside, it resting on a mahogany table, the dark leather matching the woo near perfectly. She heard sounds outside her room, footsteps. It was not so very unheard of, but at this hour most were within their rooms. Who could it have been?
With cautious steps she moved to her door, pulling it open but a crack, seeing the retreating form of one of their many fledglings heading down the hall. 'The little wretch....she hides something...' She narrowed her eyes and slowly slid into the cloak of the shadows. She would follow her for the time being. What was she up to?
It was only once she was out in the halls that she noted the other body that accompanied Minerva. The power the radiated from this female was enough to make the younger kindred ill, but she held her ground, the darkness holding firm about her body as she descended with them into the darkest depths of the manse. Her mistress would be best to know of this, and if there was a betrayer in their manse it was best she was dealt with sooner rather than later.

Countess used her tendrils to place the squirrels in a heavy burlap bag. Then she retrieved the ones Minerva had captured and placed on the floor. Nodding she flicked her wrist and the doors slammed shut.
"Now then we shall attend to the matter at hand. Be quick child for her hunger is what makes the beast strong." she opened the door allowing her scribe to exit. Soon as the door shut the chattering in high pitched squeaks resumed. Only those in the bags remained motionless still in their trance.
She paused as she closed her eyes sensing they were not alone, "Yes Minerva I believe we have a visitor that has followed us. Oh dear do show yourself and make an explanation why you traveled this far?" Her eyes narrowed waiting for their lurker's introduction. Countess sensed this was one of their own but tsk upon her for not announcing her presence.
This definitely would put quite a kink in her plans but she was used to dealing with the lower childer if it meant putting them in their place.
Once again the beast whimpered then let out a wary howl. This annoyed the Disciple greatly. A hungry mongrel was not her forte in the least...

Minerva could feel a bit more control over her new found power, but not as much as she would like to have. Perhaps, with a little more practice, she could become formidable with it. But, at the prior moment, there was a more pressing matter to attend to... feeding the creature that Countess spoke of.
"Yes Countess." She responded promptly, exiting the room as the door was opened, the sudden chattering and squeaking of the squirrels as the door closed once more causing her ears to twitch lightly. Such a horrible noise the creatures made.
"We do, Countess?" Minerva inquired with a perked brow, the presence of the other being lost to her. Perhaps she wasn't strong enough to sense others... which made her glad that Countess was near. At least she would be safe from any trouble.. or so she thought, anyway, those teal eyes of her's searching the surrounding shadows for the one the Disciple spoke to.

She knew it would not be long before she was noticed, knew she could not hide in the shadows forever. But, she had hoped that she would have gotten deeper into the bowels of the manse than this. Her blood ran cold as she felt the eyes of the disciple upon her. She knew she could not be seen, but at the same time she knew she could not hide. She would need to collect her thoughts and her nerve to face this woman, and she would be damned if she would break. She would be damned if this woman, despite her age, could break her.
She let the shadows fall back from her form, her pale violet fur coming to light as well as her deep pink eyes. She lowered her head in the slightest bow as she greeted the elder woman, noting Minerva standing at her side. So, she was serving her. "I do not mean to spy upon you, Disciple, I merely intend to keep an eyes upon this woman...for she is young and impressionable, I would hate to see her fall our of favor with those that current control the clan." She smiled darkly. "Forgive me...I am Jehane Chambers, childe of darkness and proud member of the clan that you birthed, Countess..." She smiled, letting her eyes rise to meet the woman's, Jehane did not dear her, she feared little.

Countess was unnerved having this interruption as it started to creep into her narrowed eyes. Her familiar shivered as the shadows rose around the both of them in agitation. "At least you know rank Jehane. For that you won't be punished... severely." She breathed out as her shadows flickered like hungry flames.
"I haven't time to waste in mindless conversation. If you childe want to know what I hide beneath the Manse then follow along and see with your own eyes" she grinned evily, "Of course you are quite intelligent Jehane so before we meet my hungry beast you will tell me what I keep caged there. My arrival at the Manse hasn't been full as of yet till I decide when the time is correct. Minerva here is my scribe and will gather the clan as will you Jehane if you are indeed clever and..." she paused with narrowed eyes, "obedient."
The Disciple was no fool to Jehane and her curiosity. In fact her defiance was quite revealing to the older vampire. She had followed this far so the secret was still in tact.
Opening the door she carried the burlap sack with the dazed squirrels. Each of them would feed her this night. Walking down the hallway she stopped at the last door then carried herself down a final spiral staircase leading to a huge iron door. The sound of whimpering intensified as a snarl accompanied snapping jaws.
Finally they had reached the mongrel as she had intended.

No words were uttered by Minerva as Countess spoke, the meanki's attentions coming to settle on the other, notebook/pad held tight to her chest as she came to stand beside the Disciple. She knew there was no need to speak... for it would show disrespect to the one she followed that night, right ear giving a soft twitch.
Once those words had been dispensed to Jehane, Minerva found her index finger sliding her glasses back into place, a glance given to Countess before following after her once more...
She had no idea how long this secret passage was, nor did she know what was being kept within its walls... that is, until they traversed the final staircase. The sound of whimpering grew louder and the snapping of jaws brought a nervous arching of her brow. She was beginning to wonder what she had 'volunteered' herself for?

Jehane watched the elder female, watched her as she spoke and watched her as she did not even take the time to get the answers to the questions that she asked. She did in fact follow behind the pair, her eyes forever and always on Minerva, that anger at her betrayal never ceasing, she would make a point of this little fact being told to Aurora. The childe would be punished severely she was certain.
She did not like how the woman seemed to draw her into her plans, it would not happen, of course, she more loyal to the woman that had brought her in rather than the dusty old corpse that now walked among them, but all the same, she would have to play the obedient one in this case, to move on.
As they neared that final door, the stench of the beast inside making her ill, Jehane could no longer hide her displeasure, her eyes narrowing at the back of the disciple's head. "You bring the plague of wolf into the underbelly of our home? it is one thing to keep a wolf as guard....another..." She wrinkled her nose, the smell staring to spin her mind. "...another to keep a weapon..."

Countess placed her slender fingers upon the door handle that she pushed upon to open the entire structure. Stepping through she reached a door that covered in a melded silver. Stepping aside she let the others cross first as she spoke, "Suspicion yes Jehane don't hide it. You are an underling and have every right to ponder my actions. Yes I hold a weapon down here you are correct. My intentions though I won't reveal just yet..." she hissed as she herself entered the room.
It was spacious with flicking torches that licked their way into darkness. Something there loomed with a stench that made any creature living or undead wrinkle their noses in disgust. The eyes glowed creating an illusion of something sinister awaiting those that stood outside the huge cage lined in silver.
Countess smirked and made a clicking noise, "I apoligize M'dear for your meal was quite uncooperative this eve. Never the less I have plenty for you. Come into the torch light so I can see you..." she hissed shaking the bag that began to chatter quickly as they awoke from their trance.
From the darkness there grew a whimper then a growl as the creature moved toward her. There was a wheeze to its breath as claws clicked along the cobblestone prison it was set within. The saliva that formed into a think drool slowly made its way in slobbery drops toward the floor. The sound it made was almost readable in a single word, "Squirrel".
She moved her way toward the cage front growling as her form was illuminated. To its viewers the creature appeared to be a wolf black as death and sleek as ebony. Its ears were misshapen with a horrid design as sharp jagged teeth adorned her muzzle. Along her fur tattoos glowed as bright as her eyes. She had of course been clothed in a deep velvet purple designed by the Disciple. Her head twisted as her backbone popped bringing her half hunched over that she sat upon her haunches. Looking from Jehane, to Minerva, then Countess her curled form began rocking back and forth. It looked rather pitiful to see a grown she-b***h look like an imprisoned dog begging for its food.
Without notice she began to whimper , "I've been a good girl. I've waited for my meal. A very, very, good girl. Please give me my squirrels...Please." Her voice was soft like a child's as her eyes watered in shame.
Countess clicked her tongue upon the roof of her mouth, "Pathetic isn't she? But my dears do not let looks deceive you. She's much more and will work very well for my plan.... very very well."

The stench upon entering the room was the most horrid thing Minerva had ever come to smell; her right paw drawing itself up and over her nose in attempts to shield it from the foul odor. Though, she did not let words show her disgust toward this, brow furrowing itself lightly upon hearing her Disciple's words.
Though, before any words could be mustered from the meanki, her eyes grew wide in shock. It was another of those wretched wolves! But this one seemed different then the one she had encountered in the forest... it seemed more off and less collected in thought. However, this appearance would not deceive Minerva as it had before, paw slowly lowering itself to her side.
"I do not mean to speak out of turn, Countess...." Her attention shifted from the wolf back to the Disciple... then returned to the wolf once more. "But how could such a fractured creature even prove itself useful against the other female...?"
She was very quick to jump to a conclusion on such a matter, figuring that was Countess' intent in the first place.

Jehane listened to the woman's words, listened to the answers that told nothing, the words that meant next to nothing. This woman was not going to give her game away, but all the same it was not hard to guess at what the game was. She had a werewolf, a spiral by the look of her. As the pathetic creature came into the dim light of her holding cell, Jehane could not help but grin. "You have a dog..a willing and pathetic dog, this is nothing that has not already been had and lost. One cannot trust the beasts...for they long for freedom and not to serve their rightful masters."
She turned her eyes to the poor beast, she shaking her head at her pathetic pleas. Rodents, she was fed nothing but rodents, even those she despised were treated better, though barely. Aurora would be pleased of this news, if only the control of this beast could be transferred to her and not the control of the disciple.

Isadora purposefully made the beast wait now to prove she was more then a bedraggled mutt pulled from the feces she smelled like. Her musings traced back to her dealings with the other woman that had sold her this caged b***h. A pretty penny spent with much intent playing into her open palms. Her thoughts then turned to the underling of the elder she disposed never letting on thoughts were like singing souls to her. Such a foolish childe to follow another that caused the clan so much distrust. First Tremere, then her pathetic bloodline that scattered into places they shouldn't. It still irked her Marconious wasn't letting go of Lydia but honestly it was non of her concern. The childe had slide under the Kiasyd's watchful eye which she dare not trifle with again. If Aurora's stained blood was useful to him then so be it. She was permanently wiped from the Disciple's mind.
She stood there with a stern face that melded and quivered into an ungodly smirk. Taking the bag in her hand she shook it furiously till each of the squirrels within screamed as high as they could in sheer terror. Then her attentions turned to the pathetic looking wolf whose insanity was growing.
"Pathetic dog you say?" she laughed aloud though it was still eloquent then summed a tendril to draw out a squirrel from the coarse burlap sack, "We shall see".
Letting the rodent hang in shock from its tail it slowly came too seeing the wolf's eyes alight with something evil. Then it panicked with shrill screams that no animal should utter.
As Countess stood there the black b***h began to twitch as her body rocked back and forth in a steady rhythm. She began to bite down into her tongue creating a strange black gooey liquid that foamed from her lower muzzle. Her head twitched as her body lurched causing her to spit up hunks of her tongue she bit through. A strange muttering emanated from her first being quiet as it rose into furious cries.
It was when the Disciple removed the squirrel did the wolf snap into a totally different beast. She began growing as her shoulders rose high, her maw opening wide before she snapped her teeth shut.
"Pathetic? Noo you're mistaken... It is you... Yes you pet that are Pathetic. You are late... Coun~t~e~s~s" this time she drew it out in a slow deadly manner.
"Death dances with those who trifle..... give me what is mine!" she growled and looked at the others focusing on Minerva, "She will do... yes?" twitching her ears again she cackled. Then without warning the black wolf lunged at the bars teeth bared coming towards Minerva with a violent intent. Claws and teeth latching onto the solid bars as she began yelping in pain.
Making another turn she ran headfirst into the bars before where Jehane was standing, "Yes you are Pathetic when your bones go snap between my jaws. Dance with me for you smell of s**t fresh in the air! Come dance as I twist off your head....!" she then paced back and forth ramming the bars again.
Isadora stood there with her arms crossed as her shadow veil around her intensified, "Pathetic indeed. I think Jehane you shall rethink your wording."

Minerva managed to take notice at how her vague query to Countess had been conveniently tip-toed around due to Jehane's words; an index finger finding itself sliding those frames back into place. Despite the confidence the Disciple held with showing this creature to them, she still wasn't sure that such a beast would even be a match for Kasdeya, mind still dwelling on that possibility. Logically, it was the only explanation that made sense to her.
However, faint intrigue began to perk once more within the meanki, Countess' words causing her to draw close to the Disciple's side, almost as if she was expecting something to happen... that loud and utterly maddening chatter from the squirrels making her want to cover her ears once again. Such a shrill and truly unnecessary sound they made, that nose wrinkling itself in mild disgust....
A gesture that would not hold for to long, those teal tinted eyes growing wide as the werewolf began to rise up behind the bars which contained her. What was even more intimidating was the snapping of her jaws, Minerva pulling her notepad close to her chest as eyes gave full attention to the beast before them.
It was capable of speaking outside of simple-minded ramblings?! The fledgling was not prepared for such a thing. Nor was she prepared, or did she expect, what happened next.
Terror began to race through every inch of the young vampire's body as the beast lunged at the bars... lunged at her! She wanted to scream. Really she did. But the fear sparked by such an action on the wolf's part left those teal eyes frozen wide in terror as jaws snapped viciously at the bars, the pained yelps from the beast not seeming to register with the scribe as she draw away from the bars.
There was no reason to question the Disciple on this matter. Such an crazed beast made it perfectly obvious as to why it would be kept as a 'pet'.

Jehane smiled, watching the beast smash into the cage, the action startling her for but a moment before she dared give the wolf the full of her eyes. "The day my bone are within your mouth, it the day I tear your jaw from its hinge, werewolf. Not a moment before that." She turned her eyes to Countess, letting the confidence she felt flow from her form, the shadow sever present about her, her comforting companion even now. "i will not retract anything said, Disciple. To do so would do nothing but show weakness and regret. Two attributes that I myself do not exhibit." She watched Minerva as she all but clung to the woman. It was a pathetic act. Jehane could not help but feel a moment of shame that she had selected this woman to join her clan. "You have made your point, Countess...Yet you toy about. It is a pointless act, for if it is fear you desire to get from me, you will not get such satisfaction."

The Disciple pondered a moment throwing Jehane into the lair with the beast but really there were other things to think upon and query about this insolent girl. Her eyes flicked back to the beast that always lunged at the cage. Silly creature she was to impale herself defiantly upon the very thing that made her weak. This game grew old for the Disciple as she held out the squirrel that screamed for its life, "A game yes. Though I see more.." she murmured. Flicking her wrist she pulled out about 20 some squirrels Minerva had helped her harvest with her shadow tendril. The others were frozen in fear as they hung by their tails lingering inches away from the beast that longed to sate her hunger.
The wolf paced as she occasionally straddled the bars long enough to swipe at the three vampires. How she hated them mercifully for keeping her locked up. Though she was born in captivity her heart was wild as the beast herself. Her pacing called out to the moonlight that somewhere was cascading down over the land. Her desire was to kill and hunt... it was all she wanted since she could remember. But it was her fate in the hands of vampires to be a captive raised in the worst conditions known possible. She'd been whipped, abused, beaten, even starved at times. It was all she had ever experienced and yet she knew freedom awaited her. But something kept her from breaking out of those inhumane bonds she was kept within. She growled as her paws moved making clicking noises from her claws, "Give them to me. You had your fun yes? Murder them tonight you will! You'll dance with them.. someday. Pathetic I am not for you underestimate me. Give me... my squirrels!".
Countess merely smirked as she normally did toward the she-b***h, "Always with threats. That which are fickle my dear. Fickle as trickling blood due to one overstepping their bounds. Indeed I tire of this show and tell...." she then flicked her wrist sending the squirrels through the bars as they landed in a heavy thud. Flicking her wrist again the bars shadowed over leaving no holes for escape, "Enjoy my dear. I will come for you when you are needed. The fresh air is calling you... soon.." She then turned her back walking away from the wolf as she devoured the screaming victims her jaws could catch and crunch in between those jagged teeth. It was time to plan her next scheme.
The wolf dived at the flailing bodies as her teeth snapped viciously, "Squirrels....Yes! Mine all mine." Snatching one in her claws she pet its head as the creature struggled in agony. Her gnarled tongue ran over its head and face causing it to scream more. Then gently she pet it again taking her claws around its scrawny neck. Slowly, she began to twist its head till she turned so tight blood squirted from the edges. Then the head popped off much like a bottled drink. Taking the beheaded creature to her maw she drank deeply of its sweet fluid. She removed the tail throwing the limp carcass to the side before grabbing another squirrel. This time she quickly followed the same action once again drinking its life force.
She turned to let her eyes follow Countess as she left as her eyes fell heavy. The b***h grunted and moved slowly to the back of the cage falling to her side in a dazed state. As her eyes slid shut she saw a couple squirrels running ragged then huddling in a corner.
Countess paused then used her tendril to remove the last two survivors as they shivered with no contest. Then she promptly walked through the heavy silver plated door.

Minerva found herself drawing further away from the silver bars as the wolf contained within spoke once more, the insanity that plagued it being quite apparent in that voice. So long as the creature couldn't break free of the bonds which held her, the meanki found herself feeling safe. "I still fail to see how such a creature would be of any use to you, Countess... but, unlike some, I dare not call this in further question." She stated this in the most sincere of manners, a glance sent Jehane's way as she spoke.
Her gaze was given to the wolf a moment longer, that nose turning itself at the sight laid out before them. Such brutal and savage creatures these Spirals were... at least, that's how they were starting to seem for the fledgling that night. Though, her gaze did not hold for long, a chilling sensation washing over her as some invisible force brushed at her side...
"If you have no further need of me, Countess, I shall be taking my leave now." She had a feeling that the Disciple was behind the chill she felt, feeling that there was more behind this encounter than Countess wanted Jehane to know. A respectful bow was given to the Disciple as she exited the doors.... the meanki taking her leave soon after.
