Praveena didn't say anything about his comment on her not being dangerous....he hadn't been there.... She looked at him and quietly said, "Could you....help me adapt...?"

Zarin nodded. "Yeah, I can help you adapt. Where do you want to start first in your adapting lessons Praveena?"

Praveena looked at him and said, "Society...how does modern society work? What is the government like? How does society function? What is important in society?" She had many, many question about todays world.

"Well, lets start with how the society today functions. Everyone can voice their opinion today. Government is the same way. We vote for our officials and who we want to run the country. Today in society, we hold our freedom as the most important thing. Anything else?"

Praveena looked at him and said, "What entertains people today? What do people take interest in? Media? Fashion?"

"Well, for fashion, people usually wear what kind of style they like best. And to entertain themselves, people usually go to the park with someone they like, or just go for a walk in the woods with their friends."

Praveena looked at him and, a bit embarrased, said, "Can you...teach me about modern technology? The world I remember didn't have this much technology." She felt like a nuisance, asking all of these questions.

Zarin smiled. "Sure. What do you want to learn about first Praveena?" Zarin was willing to help her get used to this time period.

Pravrena looked at him and said, "Teach me about cell phones first...everyone seems to have one of those."

Zarin nodded. "Alright. We should go out and buy you one first so I can teach you about them. The closest store is right down the block from here."

Praveena looked at him and sat up as she said, "Alright, let's go." She was eager to learn more about this world, so that she would not feel so disconnected and alien to the modern world.

Zarin got up and walked toward the back door opened it. He held it open for Praveen. "After you."

Praveena stood up and walked through the back door. Maybe getting to know Zarin wouldn't be as bad as she had thought; he was helping her after all.

Zarin closed the door behind them and walked out the front door with her. Then, they continued down the sidewalk. "When we get there, they are going to ask you if you are a relative of mine. Just say that you are my younger sister and they won't charge you for your cellphone bills. They'll charge me."

Praveena nodded as she walked. She wondered what they would bill him for...calling people? She knew nothing of texting or internet. She sighed softly, feeling clueless, as she walked towards the store with him.
