Xaudellyn began walking towards the stairs that lead towards the front doors of the castle. Her footman had already gone ahead of her and knocked. She watched with her chocolate brown eyes as the doors opened and a servant inside answered. Some words were exchanged and then Xaundellyn was inside. At a quick glance her features would appear plain to onlookers. Nothing remarkable about this pale princess. But upon closer inspection one would see that in fact she was quite the beauty. The way her nose slightly upturned was adorable, the higth of her cheek bones. Her large, dark brown eyes, which were surrounded by lush dark lashes, had a ring of gold woven around the irises. Her soft pink lips were almost perfectly proportionate to her face and looked absolutely kissable. But her skin was pale, washing her out and making one have to actually look at her to see her.

Pit was lucky enough to find some other servants to help him clean the main hall, and then when he saw Xaudellyn, He went walked over to her and he bowed graciously as he could and welcomed her to the castle. "May I help you in any way?" he asked nicely, still bowing. He wanted to make sure she was comfortable too, since she were to be married to the prince, and if she gave a bad report on him, he would be homeless if he got fired.

Xaundellyn inclined her head towards Pit and let a smile lift the corners of her mouth. "I would very much like to be shown my room. And Raine, to her quarters also. I am afraid that our trip here was quite long and I do not feel up to meeting the prince in my current state of being." She clasped her hands before her as she spoke to the servant.

"As you wish, your majesty. If you would be so kind as to follow me to your room, I would kindly appreciate it," he said before rising up from his bow and turning. He beckoned her with a wave of his hand and went up the stairs, leading the princess to her bedroom. He felt really excited, and the tone of his voice gave it off, hough he tried hard to hide it.

Entering her room, Xaundellyn bid Pit farewell and closed the door behind herself. Normally she would have had a maid to help her undress, but today she had worn something simple for the journey and was able to undress herself. After washing up, Xaundellyn combed her hair and piled it ontop of her head, ringlets cascading down her neck and cheeks, she picked out a dress for her first meeting with the prince. It was a pale rose colored dress with darker rose colored accents. It was one of her favorites. After dressing, Xaundellyn looked at herself in the mirror and then nodded. "This will do." She then left the room and headed for the drawing room to wait.

When Xaundellyn entered her room and closed the door, Pit showed Raine her room and told her if she or the princess needed anything, they can call him and went on his way to the prince's room.
He excitedly knocked on the prince's and called out "Master Maverick, her royal highness has arrived and is preparing to meet you." He couldn't wait to for the royal wedding, though he knew he would have chores to do that day to keep the wedding going smoothly, and then he would have to help cleaning when the wedding was over, but still, he wished the prince luck.

Maverick shrugged "Eh. Perhaps, but ruuuules are soooo boring. I mean I'm going to have to follow them, and make them, someday but can't I break a few behind the scenes." He chuckled and said "History is so dry, but imortant or so I hear at least." Maverick nodded "Indeed, he is a wise man." A smirk came across his face and said "He said this meeting was important, some other King asked for an audience, and since's he's forcing me to marry I honestly am afraid interrupting might make him make the wedding today." He shuddered for a moment before his servant Pit entered the room. He nodded at the young man and said "Thank you Pit. I will be down in just a moment."
The king sighed and said "My son has no skills in diplomacy. However I think over what you have said, and discuss it with the Lord of Timberland. I make no promise this wedding will be called off."

Any of Atahlea's arguments were cut off by the knock on the door. As soon as she heard it, her hand went to her sword-hilt, her eyes flickering to the door as she moved into a position that would keep her between the Prince and the doorway.
Even though it was only Pit, Atahlea didn't relax. At the mention of the princess, her brows drew together in a frown. She hadn't thought it was going to be this soon; was the princess supposed to be here already?
She shot a quick, confused glance over at the prince, who didn't seem fazed in the least by this announcement. Realizing that he had probably known she was coming, Atahlea scowled at him. "And when were you going to inform your personal guard that your betrothed was going to show up today, your Highness?" she inquired. She had edged back closer to the formal distance she put between them when there were others about, but since it was just Pit, she could still afford to ask questions that she would never have asked of him in public.
Not that she would have even spoken of this in public. Not that she spoke in public much at all while on the job.
Waiting until Pit was gone, she said quietly, "You know I'm going to have to come when you meet her, right? Just to be safe. How do you want to handle that?" If he wanted her to be right there and very obvious, she would do that; if he wanted her to stay subtle so that he and the princess could pretend she wasn't there, she could do that too. But the one thing she wouldn't do was leave him alone with an unknown Timberland princess until they were sure of the other kingdom's intentions. Who was to say this whole facade of a marriage wasn't a cover for an attempt to assassinate Kessig's heir?
It would be bold. Practically insane, but not unheard of. And Atahlea was always wary when it came to their prince.

Maverick ignored her question whilst Pit was in the room, he just looked deep into her eyes. He just smiled at her before turning his attention back to his servant bidding him farewell. He looked back at his bodyguard. He said "Neither. Instead, run away with me! Let's just jump out that window and escape and never look back. Just you and me." He sighed shaking his head again "No I suppose we can't do that can we." He moved in close and casually stroked her face "You've grown into a beautiful woman." He then turned and left the room without saying a word.

Atahlea gave him a narrow-eyed stare when he avoided her question, but she figured he would get to it when Pit left. When he started talking, though, she couldn't help but laugh--it was the same kind of joke they'd often employed as children, when they'd half-jokingly talked about running away and living in treehouses instead of being prince and guard. "If we jumped out that window, we'd break our legs," she pointed out dryly. "Do you see how high off the ground we are?"
Always the killjoy, she was.
She started as the prince stepped closer to her, and went dead still when he touched her face. There was nothing threatening in it, but it confused her--he didn't usually do things like this. The prince was entitled to do as he liked, of course, and there was nothing technically wrong with him touching one of his guards; they just weren't allowed to touch him.
But it was odd.
At his words, though, her nose wrinkled in confusion. "Prince...?" But then he was out the door. What was that all about? she demanded of herself. Was he just trying to make her feel better after their discussion about marriage?
Well, if anyone should be making anyone feel better, it should be her comforting him--at least she'd have a say in hers (one day). Shaking her head and dismissing it as the prince being nostalgic for the ease and simplicity of a childhood they'd both left behind, she left the room and caught up to him, walking a few paces behind as was expected for a guard to do.
For his sake if no one else's, she hoped the princess was kind.

They didn't have time for that. The wedding was so close at hand now. A meeting would accomplish nothing if the wedding was already over and done with but Zaneth know it would only make matters worse if he tried to push now so he held his tongue. If the king did nothing, he would move on his own accord. "Thank you my lord," was all he said in a calm and seemingly revealed voice. Then he backed out and left the throne room. He had packed light for this trip since he didn't intend to stay long. He had only brought 4 guards including Lucas and Shino. Lucas would be easy to fine. He tended to stay close and Shino should be too difficult to find unless she didn't want to be found. He had to pass through the castle's living room to reach where he was staying and as he did, he saw a long female sitting in the room. Zaneth did not recognize her but judging by her lavish dress her elvish features, he could guess who this was. She had arrived earlier than he had expected. An attack on her would need a better cover now than when she was on the road. He made his way over to her, his face expressionless as it usually was. " Princess Xaundellyn I presume?" He asked with a low and respectful bow.

Maverick smirked knowing his guard was behind him. He had secretly hoped to sneak passed her but knew that would not happen. His destination was the drawing room where he and the elven princess would meet for the first time. He just smirked and said "perhaps, seeing as it is the first meeting you should keep hidden when I go to meet the princess. Make her feel at ease."

Atahlea was quiet as she walked behind him--as quiet as she could be, anyway, considering the sound of metal and the click of chain links as she moved. The prince might have hoped to escape her by being silly and nostalgic, but she was not one to let him trick her into ignoring her duty, no matter how good a trickster he was.
Walking a few steps behind him, it took her a moment before she responded. "Yes, my lord Prince." The servants they were passing would have no reason to give them sidelong or strange glances; she was pitch-perfect, her voice low and respectful.
Once they were alone again, however, she added, "I'll stay by the door so she doesn't feel threatened. Be nice to the poor girl. She's far from home and all alone except for servants." And though some servants and guards, like herself, could be friends of a kind with royals, she knew as well as the prince would that it wasn't the same.
She felt a quiet sort of dread as they approached the room where the princess would be waiting. What if she wasn't what the prince hoped? What if something went wrong? What if her fears about an assassination attempt were true? What if...what if one of any one of a million things happened?
It wasn't her job to think about what-ifs, she told herself. That was for diplomats and royals. Her job was to protect her prince, no matter what. Even if that was from a foreign princess.
Heartlessness to protect compassion. She'd remember.

Xaundellyn had been staring out a window so when Zaneth spoke unexpectedly, she jumped. Turning, she gave a curtsy and smiled brightly. "Good day M'lord, yes I am Xaundellyn." She kept her eyes downcast when she spoke to him, not sure if the king would find staring in the eyes rude or not.
