[HH 5 vs ??] Science Party (Chris, Mal, Riley, Barth,Calder)

Christof looked confused by the flower, but at the sight of the yawning figure, looked positively livid. Storming up to the kelpie, he slammed one of his smaller fists against her nose before signing furiously, "Condemn-me-for-calling-Mistress-and-yet-you-bring-HIM-here! Dangerous! Safer-for-Master-back-on-campus! Stupid-Horse!"

Calder reared back before snorting right back in Christof's face. "If you can bring whoever you want, then I can too." With that, Calder sat down with a huff and let the contents of her back slowly slide down.

Shifting back, Calder went to set Barth upright and fixed his suit a bit. "Don't worry, Barth. It's not a campaign. Amrita turned crazy insane and we have to come here to find her. Don't worry, I'll protect you." To which Calder shout a glare at Christof. Yup. Calder would. Christof could bugger off.

Taking one of the Flour bags, Calder turned back around to glare at Riley. "It's a great idea! You think walking up is going to be any better? How can you be so sure my idea won't work?! HMMM!" Calder liked his idea very much, and he wasn't going to have Riley shoot it down. In fact, to make a example, Calder marched over, open a bag, and dumped it on the ghoul. The result was a very white demon with a bit of rising flour dust.

"See! It looks great." Calder waved his hand to clear the flour dust rising up, looking the ghoul over as if she was a masterpiece he had created from clay. To everyone's dismay, he would not be dissuaded on the flour idea.  

[Nio Love]

Riley flinched when the bag of flour was dumped on her head. Her eyes closed as it all settled, and when they opened again, they were stark blots of red in a sea of white.

I will kill you. The Illithid growled. And then, when you turn to the Insanity, we will follow you home. But first, FIRST I KILL YOU.

She lunged at Calder, claws bared to strike.  

[Toshihiko Two]

"Amrita?" Barth looked surprised. "Err, shouldn't the err, bogeymen be handling that sort of thing? Has anyone called them?" He looked even less endeared by the fog, and the general greyish nature of their surroundings.

He returned Riley's look with a calculative one. He allowed himself to be brushed off. This was beginning to sound a lot like wandering around. Which equaled walking.

"Not that I'm an expert in the biological arts, mind, but if there's a dangerous infection going around, er, especially of that variety, being in the thick of it without any guaranteed protection seems...counter-intuitive. And although Riley is known for her mental acuity," if not recently, "it seems to me that the concept of Home is...on the subjective side. Instead of a literal place. That we could go to and err, do whatever you were intending on doing once you got there. Punch things a bit and hope that sorted it out?"

A thick black vine had begun to curl around his boot.

The speech had taken a long and ponderous time, and he by the time it ended and Calder had dumped flour on Riley, he was staring into the mists.

Christof groaned, clutching his head as Calder babbled on. Things were supposed to work in a certain way. There were parts and the parts came together and the parts moved together and things responded in calculable, precise ways. Sometimes you just didn't understand the formula and needed to figure out the variable in order to properly comprehend the overall Sum of Parts, but fundamentally EVERYTHING came down to Parts and pieces and this was not how you were supposed to DEAL WITH your parts and pieces and-

He glanced up as flour wafted past, giving a yelp as he lunged to grab Riley's arms to try to drag her back, Calm yourself, Mistress! Please!! He is just trying to help! In his... funny unproductive idiotical way...

At least attempting peace-keeping was a distraction from his growing panic and headache.  

[Enoh Love]

Razor tipped claws scraped against the ground as it walked, dragging along behind it as if too heavy to carry. The creature itself was slumped, slouching forward under the stress of all the intruders in the way of it getting home. Just as it had before, and as it always would, it found someone - several someones, it seemed - in the way.

LEAVE.

It demanded, the bright blue eyes narrowing once more. Claws raked through the air in front of the intruders right before it lunged.

[Nio Love]

Christof held her back, and in the back of her mind she was pleasantly surprised at how strong he actually was. It was clear the igor was made for heavy lifting, and other such work. It also explained why he kept wanting to smash things.

These and other thoughts went through just one small compartment of her mind, while the other one was focused on the bloodlust filled rage consuming her as she glared at the mare, ready to tear the skin off of her face. Christof's hold slipped just enough for her arm to slide through, and she soared forward a moment later.

Amrita's claws sunk into her chest, burying deep into Riley's.. well, for better lack of a visual, into her hole. The monster had a steady grip on her because of this, and managed to send her flying back several feet, landing stunned on her back.

Instinct, and the adrenaline and hate already running through her veins took hold of her. All of her tentacles lashed around her violently, and she hurtled herself towards the monster, holding nothing back.

Malodore brought its wings forward in a single sweeping movement, a few feathers detaching and slicing through first the air, and then grey fog. "Leave her alone," it snarled, bristling in every limb. "She is not yours to warp any longer! She is mine!"

The plague doctor shook its head, blinking away grey. "Amrita..." it said, in a much different tone. "Why did you come back. Do you still...?" It looked over at Calder. "Not stupid," it added. Thinking differently wasn't stupid at all. This just wasn't the time for a full-on pep talk.

Calder didn't know what Riley was being so up and arms about. It was just a LITTLE flour, and it would wash off easily with a quick dip in the pond. If anything, she was just probably angry she didn't think of the idea sooner, and was now putting his idea because she didn't think of it. It was a GOOD idea, but no one around seemed to agree. That is, at least Malodore did, to which he felt the twisting in his gut loosen just a bit and he flashed a smile. "See, Malodore agrees." At least he had one friend around here.

With his attention on the others, he didn't expect Amrita to appear so soon, and without warning she lashed out and attacked. He felt the claws rake against his back, and he stepped forward before turning around, eyes bursting mist white before kicking a hoof out. "Snap out of this, Amrita!"

The thorns knotted up irritably, striking out into the fog...

They curled around the insubstantial mass, misunderstanding, there was nothing solid, nothing to strike, just the ever-yielding mists. They withered back into nothing.

Christof's breath caught in his throat as the attacks came flying. Amrita... he gave a whine, his hands fidgeting as he rushed forward to slam her back and away from the others....


As the fog rolled, his claws on his left hand shot up to the stitches at his mouth, his brain whirling with desperation. If he could just get through to her...

Stitches were torn.

"AMWABA! FOP!!"

Enunciation was still difficult when one did not have a tongue.

It was all the creature said to the questions, to the attacks that made it stumble. The significance of Christof tearing his stitches was lost on it, and all it could do was see the move as a threat. They were stopping it from going home!

How dare they---How dare they!

Another hiss and the claws lashed out again, trying to tear everyone around it, or to at least get them away from it and out of it's way.

[Nio Love]

Riley had little time to revel in the valiant display Malodore had surged forward with. This plan wasn't working. Not only was her theory on getting Amrita to lead them home failing, but Amrita was slowly putting down everyone in her path. There weren't many choices remaining, except the one. And this was why she would never hold a grudge against Shun, or any of the people who'd helped to kill her.

Because it was the right thing to do.

Amrita, if you can hear me, lead us home. We don't want to be in your way, we'll let you go home. Show us the way. But you must stop attacking, or we will be forced to act.

She showed such force with a swipe of her tentacles, puncturing through the fog.

Malodore drew back, crouching silently in front of Riley, ready to block anything that might come her way. It hoped. It would try, at least. Per favore - where is home? it thought, but did not say. It was an outsider here, as it had been in that last battle of the Four Clans.

Calder winced as once again Amrita returned to them, but instead of being tricked, she rushed over to slash at them. Maybe it said something that she might remember something in that she had showed up again? Whatever the case, the power that Calder admired in Amrita was painful when you were on the receiving end of her attacks.

Not wanting the same to happen to Barth, Calder moved over to stand before the demon, holding his side where the ghoul had slashed him again. "Amrita, we want to help you get home. Okay? We can help!"
