Children Harpies are still covered in fluffy down, and have no feathers, except small ones on their wings. They're referred to as "fledglings" and are still completely dependent on their mothers for survival. Their claws and talons are needle-sharp because they're new, and unused. It is recommended to include some games of "catch" with stones to help dull the claws a bit. Their sharp teeth have grown in so they are capable of chewing their own food and their vocabulary is increasing. They're smart enough to hold conversations, but still don't have enough worldly knowledge to be on their own. They're extremely vulnerable to predators at this age.
They are unable to fly, but their senses are improving. Don't expect to be able to keep secrets around them, because they love to repeat what they hear at this age.
Don't be alarmed if they are still bitey. It's perfectly normal.
((Because I did forget to mention this when they hatched: Harpies do not have beaks. They hatch without teeth, so they will require creative methods to feed if raised by a non-Harpy parent. They do hatch with super sharp claws and talons, and no means to understand how to control them. They do not cry, but will screech and chirp non-stop until they get the attention they seek.))
