There was a decisive hiss as Tomo managed to get his face, thin trials running down ashen grey skin. “Enough.” A wave of flames, yet they did not hurt, only push both Tomoko and Jack from him. “Perhaps you both have merit still.” Dusting himself off, cane retrieved, Rengath looked at them both. “The first test to see which you would value more. Your own powers or your friend’s? By choosing to share the cups you thought not to sacrifice anything, to perhaps keep what you had, maybe even gain something more. Whatever your motives, it has been seen as a failure. You both were stripped of your natural abilities as a price.” Red eyes looked down at them both.
“While you have passed the exam as a whole I might offer you both a bit of advice.” Wiping the blood from his face he scowled at his handkerchief, like it had touched something far grosser than his own blood. “Do not think your powers are what you need to be truly powerful or frightening. Do not fear their loss and do not rely upon them and them alone. As you both demonstrated, you are well enough without.” A hand waved them off. “In your rooms you will find a vial containing an antidote of sorts. Otherwise the effects of the drink will wear off by tomorrow night. I will forward your papers to Arel… Hobs.”
With that, Rengath turned and left the stage.
