I couldn't find a thread like this, so I'm starting one... I love watching movies that revolve around concepts regarding LGBT, but I'm limited to what my friends have referred so far. To share these enjoyments, please include the names of as many LGBT-themed or -related movies, films, or shorts.
Well there is one named 1.5 Patrick, its about a gay couple that adopt a child but the kid turns out to be Homophobic

Definitely a great one.

I also love:
The Object of My Affection, a sweet and solid romantic drama from the 90s with Jennifer Aniston and Paul Rudd.
Humpday, about two straight guys who want to make a porn film together. Yes, together like THAT.
The Rules of Attraction, a druggy and trippy black comedy about college students, starring James Van Der Beek and Ian Somerhalder.
And also, The Celluloid Closet, a documentary chronicling the history of gay content and gay characters in American film.

I really enjoyed that one! I generally can't stand Jennifer Aniston, but I was bored one night and it was on TV, and I ended up really liking it.

Yeah it's one of my favourites. Sort of a companion piece to Chasing Amy, I'd say.

I did forget to mention Hellbent, an all gay slasher film with some fun twists.

And Y Tu Mama Tambien, a Mexican road movie that is sort of like an art house version of American Pie.

I love queer film. heart

Gun Hill road is stinkin' amazeballs!
It's so sad but it has to be one of my fav films ever, you can watch it on Netflix.
Same with Howl. It's based of my favourite poem from a homosexual poet. It's more about the author during the time of the poems court date. True story.

Paris Is Burning is a documentary from the late 80s. I highly recommend it on Netflix. Also Mysterious Skin is good. But always check out the gay/lesbian section on Netflix. I've found a lot of great movies on there.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Shelter yet (that I saw, anyway). That's a wonderful film.

Well I've seen 3 of my recommendations already in this thread, but I'll reiterate that Brokeback Mountain, Pariah, and Paris is Burning are all excellent.

Another documentary that is really worth watching is The Celluloid Closet. It's interesting because it's actually about the history of the LGBT community in cinema, and you'll see a lot of the ways that homosexuality was treated, and how it often hid in plain sight on the screen over the years. So not only is it worthwhile in its own right, it will also give you some other movies to look at.

Cabaret is a gay classic.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show is one I'd suggest to anybody who hasn't seen it. The definition of campy fun.

L.I.E. takes an intriguing look at both homosexuality and pederasty. It's a little darker than my last couple suggestions, but I think it's very much worthwhile.
