Nestled deep inside a hay filled mattress one kitsune slept soundly. His ears twitching from time to time and every so often the sound of soft snoring would echo throughout the silent dorm. That was until pleasant dreams turned to painful nightmares, and the silence and peace turned into whines and whimper. Ones that caught the attention of the boil's many minipets, the likes of which surrounded him in curiosity.
In his sleep dreams of home filled his head, only he was quickly taken from the warmth of his mothers and thrown into the wood with his second elder brother. Outside his dream Tavi clutched the plushie San won for him tightly, already sensing something a miss just by the 'normal' sight of his brother. The brother whom seemed to only live to ruin his life and steal his things. A whine for when said brother challenged him to a race filled the dorm, then as he ran in his dreams the kitsune's legs kicked against the mattress, knocking off a minipet that happened to be in the bed with him. The rest of his onlookers took a prompt step back after one of their own fell, though continued to watch over their master.
Jingo of course was winning their race, even though he was trying his hardest to keep up, it was no use being as short as he was compared to the other. Tavi felt his lungs burn, in real time he gasped for air against the pillow his face was buried into. The dream becoming realer as his brother threw back a lash of fire to distract him, only the fire was actually one of his fire inclined minis that decided to try and wake him up. Jumping to the left he howled out in protest then attempted to send a bolt of his own magic at the behind of the elder, shocking the mini on his chest away successfully. But of course his attack missed in his dreams. Considering it always did with Jingo, he pouted firmly before jumping a fallen log in the forest and rounding the corner of trees.
Out of breath as he entered the clearing where the race ended. The familiar sight sending Tavi into a cold sweat as he tossed in his bed.
There he was, just like before...
Staring at Jingo, the elder frozen and ears laid back. Unable to stop himself or the dream from progressing Tavi whined loudly. "Jin-ging?" Tavi called out of breath and moving to his side, the only response from the elder he got however was a flare up of his five tails. "Ji-" He tried again this time a hand meeting his mouth and turning his head to a set of beady yellow eyes beyond a far tree. "Dogs." Was the whisper that fell upon his furry ears and caused them to flatten. There hadn't been dog creatures in this part for ages, the thought caused him to whine out and lick at Jingo's hand to get free. An action used often when it came to his brothers doing something unwanted, since they were all apparently weak to spit.
Upon release Tavi's hand was quickly grabbed and forcefully pulled back to boot. A gesture in attempt to get him behind though it didn't work out since he was being stubborn and wanted to stay by Jingo's side. Back then he hadn't understood the consequences of his own actions, but now, now as he watched them unfold it was a painful reminder of how stupid he was.
"Run..." Jingo's voice was firm, much firmer than it had been in sometime, all the playful and teasing sucked right out of it as his hand curled tighter around Tavi's then released it. Shivering, Tavi's tail tucked between his legs, and even though he tried to run he couldn't, he was much to scared. Whining instead he latched around Jingo's hand before screwing his eyes shut. Like hiding would help them both disappear, Tavi frowned hard into his pillow remember his own thoughts from that time. He thought if they just shut their eyes then they would be ok.
Childish. The word echoed in his mind, rubbing raw nerves that were never soothed.
Within moments he heard that growl, the one that didn't come from Jingo, though a counter one of his brothers did follow. With a peek of an eye Tavi's gasped then tried to hide into Jingo only to be shaken off as the elder boy went to block a strike from the large monster dog that had found them.
"TAVI YOU USELESS, STUPID CHILD! RUN! " Jingo's words still stung heart and thankfully woke him up before the memory of their childhood run in further relived itself within his dreams. Awake now Tavi panted in bed, noticing his pool of sweat and rapid pulse along with a very ticked off mini for being knocked to the ground. After a moment to pant he broke down, hands going to his hair and fisting two handfuls. "I'm sorry...I-i..I'm sorry!" In the silence of his room Tavi cried, both for what had happened that day and for not being able to help stop the scar that was left on his brother.
When emotion had run its course the kitsune somberly crawled from his bed and began to write a letter home.

"Dang it Mocha! YOU CANT ALWAYS GET WHAT YOU WANT!"
Bang!
A loud noise erupted from within the dorm, echoing within as it did. Mocha narrowed her beady little eye at the thrown book, but did leap down. Promptly cocking her ears in the air and flaunting across the bed as she landed. Tavi was growing more frustrated by the minute with the prissy little mini, and as it was had thrown a book to startle her from the shelf she had been on. It was bath day and while all the rest of his pets had went willingly into the soapy bucket of water, Mocha was standing her grown.
Of course she happened to be one of the smelliest or he would have simply let it go.
Flailing his arms into the air Tavi yelled at the drinkit, "Mocha! You have to take a bath! You smell like an undead!" Ok, maybe it wouldn't be so smart to shout such an insult but at the moment the little kitsune didn't care, and wasn't really thinking much past getting the funky smell out of his dorm. "Now hold still.." Tongue hang from the side of his lips, and tails flaring out behind him Tavi attempted a pounce. But his daring lung was met with a bitter end as his face collided with the wall and Moach ran off to hide in the room.
By the time he had recovered Mocha was nowhere within sight, but given as the door was shut and so were the windows Tavi knew she was still here. After a good rub to his face to get back feeling the kitsune looked to the other minis for answers. "Where is she?" He demanded, looking to blinking confused faces before sighing and starting the search. "Here Mocha, Mocha...come to daddy...and he'll give you a treat!" He jingled the bell bracelet on his arm, hoping the sound would attract the mini out of her hiding place.
When the jingle didn't work and a turn over of piled clothes turned up fruitless Tavi scratched his cheek, deep in thought on how to trick the mini. "Ok fine...I give up!" He pouted, then huffily stomped to the door. Peering over his shoulder he watched for movement before sliding out of the door, but leaving a crack. After what seemed like hours watching between the stilted open door and the frame Mocha appeared. She had hidden in one of San's boots he had left in Tavi's dorm, the sight of the shoe reminding him to give it back to the other boil and also brought a cringe to his nose for now he knew she smelt of not only nasty but foot as well.
Giving her another minute or two to settle on the bed and doze off he gently crept back into the room. Slowly as possible he crept to the bed, breath held for he felt that even an inhale might alert the mini into running off again. Once within reach Tavi's arms shot out, only the sound of his jingling bracelet and a squeal from a startled Mocha heard in the moment of capture. Mini in hands he gave her a shake in scolding then narrowed his eye down upon the drinkits head. "You're a bad Mocha, bad!" Frowning at the pouty eyes, Tavi takes her to the bucket of water and with a little foxfire warms it back to proper temperature before starting her bath. A scrub here and a howl from the mini later and he was done. A few scratches gained on his arms but now each mini in the dorm smelled delightfully like pumpkin spice.
"Isn't this much better?" He asked the gang, letting out a tired pant as he cleaned up his bathing supplies. Flopping into bed he pulled out his eyephone and rolled over the number. Resting on San's name he looked towards the boot in his floor before shutting the phone. Nope. He grinned deviously, not going to take it. If San wanted he could come get it, and besides, teal's danced in amusement as a few minis played on the large footwear. It made a good mini toy.
As he watched the minis play, a rather annoyed Mocha scaled up the bed. Her target in sight she lunged, claws latching onto one of Tavi's two tails and digging in. "OUUUUUUUUUUUUCH!" Howling out in pain the kitsune swatted behind him and felt a ball of fuzzy. On a painful tug he managed to pull Mocha off and into his lap. "Wtj! Mocha!" Tavi frowned, rubbing the mini's ears since it now looked near tears. Clearly a trick, from a clever mini he thought but indulged her anyways.
Since even if she was a scamp, Mocha was still his baby, which was why the drinkit was so rotten. On a sigh he kissed the little head peering up to him, reassuring her that he wasn't mad enough to boot her out or anything. "Please behave ok? I'll take you out later if you do?" Tavi whimpered tiredly before curling around the mini to snuggle, which in turn gained a pleased purr from the creature.
In the end he thought, while watching the mini doze, Mocha always does get what she wants.

Pulling a small white-gold ball from a decorative box under his bed, Tavi grinned into it admiringly. Said grin reflected, though barely back at him due to the dust his precious item had collected over the many months of storage. In all honesty as well he hadn't gotten it out a lot for fear someone might see and snatch it or one of his minis would grab it and lose it somewhere. Frowning at his thoughts and with delicate fingers Tavi sat the ball on the middle of his bed, then turned to find somethings to clean it off with. When spotting the gathering minis now eyeing the object, he warned out while moving off for supplies , "don't even think about it!"
Upon the delivered warning the minis scampered off to play and or hide around the room, or all of them but one. Moach remained posed at the head of the bed, her stripped legs stretching out towards the ball as if tempting Tavi's temper if the object was touched. The drinkit to curious for its own good and when she chanced close enough to touch the ball, a small zap of electric caught her tail and sent her off the bed in a huff.
Rummaging around the slightly messy 'din', the kitsune finally managed to find an old handkerchief and some cleaner. The cleaner he had found was one that he used to generally keep his minis smelling fresh but, he figured it would work for cleaning off the ball as well. Since it was mostly water after all, with some fragrance enhancers.
Trotting back to the bed he flopped up on it, careful not to bounce the ball in the center though. Wiggling into a comfortable position he pulled the ball between his legs and began to wipe it down thoroughly. After a few moments of washing Tavi lifted the ball high into the air for inspection. "Just as shiny as the day I got it!" He giggled into the empty room, pleased with a job well done. After putting up his cleaning supplies it was back to the bed where he laid flat on his stomach to stare at the shiny orb for a few moments, basking in its memories.
- Flashback-
"Father is waiting! Go go go!" Davi laughed merrily while pushing a chubby little tod down the cobble path to the garden. Once at the entrance the fire inclined kitsune put a hand to his lips than in a puff of smoke was gone. Leaving a very nervous little kit twisting the poncho momma Heian made him between two chubby little hands. Father was sometimes scary, especially when he was giving them talks about being honorable and being knowledgeable. Most of the things Father talked about made the kit nervous and scared, today was no exception since Tavi was told it was a very important day.
After milling around for a few minutes by the garden entrance his feet finally began to move, wooden sandals clacking loudly with inexperience against the cobble stone pathway. Upon approach to his fathers shrine the red-headed kit paused, hands hiding within the poncho and face tucking down into the extra-large neck hole. "Father...Tavi is here.." He called out, voice meek and showing his nervousness fully. Upon the call there was a shuffle before a large nine tailed fox jumped up to rest on the top of the shrine, its coat a beautiful snow-white.
Tavi held back a giggle, always finding Father or his brothers the most adorable things in their natural forms. But as all could shape-shift with their pack their natural forms didn't restrict them. Father slid from the roof and landed, upon impact with the stone humanish feet sprung up and what followed was a well-developed yet older body. "Tavadia..." Fathers voice was firm, yet held the same warmth it always did when he regarded the younger kits. "Do you know why you are here today?" Father questioned, taking a seat on the steps of the shrine and holding his arms out for Tavi to enter into their grace.
In an eager rush Tavi raced up to sit with Father, falling at the last step and landing right in Father's arms. "For an important thing!" He answered proudly, though a shy blush dusted his pale cheeks for the fall. Father's eyes had gone wary as he looked to the kit that had nearly taken his breath away when falling into him. "Don't be so eager, Taviadia it makes you look foolish." Father scolded first and foremost before petting the drooping ears, "but you're right...you will be getting a very important thing from Father today." Smiling slyly the elder fox pinched the tip of his son's ear, bringing a whine out before he continued. "As it is, I was told that my life will soon end, someone wishes to take Father's life" Tavi's voice piped out in a whisper, cooing that no one could do such not even one of his brothers and Father chuckled before he continued, " before this is to happen I was instructed to trust a family treasure in the hands of my youngest child." Tavi's eyes widened up to Father, beaming brightly as he realized his task. "Tavi will keep the treasure safe!" He eagerly reassured Father, then catching himself piped down to more respectfully repeat the promise.
Father for the first time smiled upon him, his large hand ruffling Tavi's mop of hair before it left to pull a box from the inside of his robe. "I do hope you will, as this is our precious, priceless family treasure Tavi." Father didn't bother to tell him then that the ball was connected to him in a very special way. "Father is giving you a great responsibility, do you understand?" Father's hands clutched the box tightly then slowly held it out towards the kit. Tavi then didn't know the pressure of the responsibility in all honesty when he took the box, he was just to happy to take a chance at proving himself.
"Yes Father..."
-Fashback End-
Laughing loudly at his past self he closed the box, now knowing that impressing his father was never going to be as easy as he thought. Regardless he would keep the treasure safe and had even vowed to himself to try to save his father from whatever tried to hurt him. Smiling happily he pushed the box back under his bed and sat up, stretching and flailing his tails out behind him. "Who's hungry!" Shouting to the room, several minis sprang out and clung to his legs, signing it wasn't just him that needed food.

"Scarentines, Scarentines, Scarentines!" Tavi stompped his foot, looking over all the mushy cards on the rack in front of him. Pouting, red ears twitched then swiveled to attention as the store clerk approached him. "Is there something I can help you with?" She cocked a hip at the kitsune and rose a brow, clearly not impressed with his tantrum when he was unable to find the right card.
Whimpering softly he placed the card in his hand back on the shelf and sighed dramatically. "Yes- er- no. Maybe. I don't know." Tavi whined, ears falling flat to his head before he looked to the ghoul with large pouty teals. Apparently a sight she couldn't resist since moments later he was captured in a boob filled hug and petted. "Awww so cuuute! Is this your first Scarentine's?!" The ghoul stopped petting him and squished his cheeks, a gesture that had Tavi whimpering and backing up from her. Blushing a faint dust of pink he shook his head no but admitted lowly, "yes.."
It was awful, he could feel her getting ready to laugh but when it didn't come he peeked an eye open he hadn't remembered shutting to her. The smiling ghoul was holding a simple heart shaped card with large gold lettering on the inside that said, 'Be mine.' "But isn't that..to plain?" Tavi asked skeptically, taking the card and thinking about how fancy San was. He was always dressed so nice and smelled so good and and. Tavi's ears twitched and he blushed a tad darker at his own thoughts.
San was amazing, and he was so glad the other had finally joined him here at school.
"Nope, because its the thought that counts little guy!" The ghoul chuckled and petted his ears upright to reassure him. Beaming she ushered him to the checkout and popped a single dead, wax covered rose on the counter as well. "You'll need this too cutie!" Tavi looked to the wax flower and lifted a brow, wondering to himself if San would really like such a thing. But in the end he ended up buying both items. Slowly trudging back to school he tried to come up with clever delivery tactics but was falling short on anything good since several horrible thoughts kept coming to mind.
What is San didn't like any of these? What if he wasn't fancy enough to take him on a Scarentines date? What if San already had a Scarentines date!?
"What-what if ....he ...thinks........I'm weird....." Tavi shouted into the air, hand clutching the bag of items he was holding. The shout gained a few onlookers, that well thought the kitsune was having some kind of mental break down and quickly passed him by. Blushing at his own outburst Tavi ran all the way back to his dorm without stopping once. Flopping to his bed he groaned, tails tucking between his legs as he whined and hid under his pillow. This was way harder than his brother said it would be!
Turning over in the bed, now on his back, he pulled out the rose and held it up to stare at. It looked kind of pretty he supposed but then, weren't these for ghouls? Tavi's brows furrowed and he sighed, fingers twirling the rose as his mind raced. San was probably to cool to like something so ghouly right? Maybe he should just give it to Rosy or Mea ? Placing the rose back into the bag he pulled the card out next, this time sitting up to pull a pen from his dresser. "Let's see.." Tavi chewed on the end of the pen, looking over the bold lettering of 'Be Mine'. It was really embarrassing now that he thought about it, so much so that he was once again blushing bright red as he stared at the card. So embarrassing! San would hate it! He hated it!
Then again...
Just as he was about to throw both gifts away a sneaky little thought hit him. What if he didn't sign the card, but did give both gifts to San! Tavi giggled into the room, "I'm such a genius!" Grinning deviously he signed the card with a few hearts and as neatly as possible wrote from your secrete admirer at the bottom. If San kept them then it meant he liked them! And that would give him a better idea when he actually presented San with presents! Tavi beamed at his 'fool proof' plan and tucked both gifts safely under his bed for later. The day of Scarentines no longer so scary now that he had a plan.
"I"ll just got to his dorm, and bring in the gifts I 'found' then when I see if he likes them or not I will tell him to spend the day with me!" Tavi rolled in the bed, grinning at the closest mini, "perfect right? Right!" Laughing again he snuggled his pillow happily this time, tails swaying rapidly behind his bottom.

"Not again.." Tavi groaned as he hopped off the bus and stared around. For the second time this week the kitsune had gotten on the wrong bus, only this time he had been wide awake when doing it. "Ahhsghd!" Growling he nearly threw his text book on the ground and stomped it. That was the danger of doing homework while walking though he reasoned on a dramatic pout of lip.
On a sigh he tucked the book under his shoulder and turned to head back to the bus stop. Just as he got to the booth to stand, it started a heavy down pour. While normally rain wasn't a big deal, this particular rain was. Eye twitching and smile cracking the kitsune stood nearly soaked already and now a bright green. Slime water, it just had to be slime water. Tavi screamed aloud not caring whom was around to see him lose it.
"Oh, this is just jacking pumpkiny!" Tantrum in full swing Tavi stomped around for a moment before putting his book over his head and fleeing to the nearest building to hide. The smelly, disgusting water not giving him to many places to hide, since he'd likely be kicked out of an eatery. Tavi took a few breaths and glared out the window of the building he entered for a moment. Calmed or mostly he then turned, eyes widening when realizing where he was.
Jack it to jacking- Cutting himself off he pinched the bridge of his nose and flashed a small smile. Not wanting to get kicked out, or rather launched out back into the slime water, Tavi tucked tail. Sliding out of sight down a corridor, he slumped to the ground and placed his book in front of him. Glancing around as he settled Tavi sighed once more, a prompt 'shhh' sounding after it that quickly had him snapping his mouth shut.
How could she hear that! Tavi was baffled but peeked around the corner of the corridor then quickly ducked back in when meeting the gaze of another. Shoot. Ok so he would have to be super super quite. Making sure his phone was on vibrate the kitsune buckled down, going back to his homework after clearing some slime off the book and flinging it down the corridor. Minutes of studying the text book turned to hours and soon he was dry, though still very green. Gently closing his textbook the kit set to work on writing his essay for class. Stretching out in a laying position in the corridor as he wrote, unaware of any potential spider minis that might be lurking. "Let's see.." He breathed softly, pencil tapping to his cheek as he thought of an opening sentence for his paper. Soon after the first line was written Tavi was on fire, words pouring out onto his paper and creating a fairly decent report over the few chapters he had to read over magic. Grinning from ear to ear as he finished up he sat back up and re-read the paper before tucking it back into his textbook for safekeeping.
Pulling his phone back out he checked the time on a pucker of lips and grunted softly. So it had only been about two hours? Tavi yawned softly now aware fully of how tired he was getting. On a stretch he picked up his belongings then paused his exit to glance around. Lips twitching in thought as he read over a few nearby spines, should I get a book while here was the question he asked himself as he moved along.
There were a few new find it's out, which were super cool! So why not? Decided on a determined shake of head he trotted happily down the shelves of books, searching for one of the new find it's. Though it wasn't a book that caught his attention as he rounded the second set of books. "What the?" Furrowing his brows Tavi took a step in, reaching between the books and pulling out a pair of mismatched socks, ones that were wet to the touch and reeked of a very familiar scent. Slime water.
On a little growl he threw the socks to the ground, electricity crackling from his tails though just before this tantrum Tavi was captured and on a swing launched clean out of the library and thrown impressively right back to the bus stop. "Ouuuuuch!" Wailing out as he landed his ears flattened to his head, "that's it! I'm going to bed." Announcing it to the world he waited for the bus then once back at school did exactly that.
