Fashionably late. The only acceptable way to arrive to any party. It takes time to look beautiful, so there is no excuse for anyone to be on time. Or heaven forbid early. The icy blue demon folded her wings gently against her back as she looked down at the sand. She rolled her eyes, thinking that it was utterly ridiculous to have this festival here, instead of the perfectly manicured courtyard of the castle in the City. It'd take great care to not get sand everywhere, so she walked deliberately, taking careful steps towards the festivities, taking note of who was already here. A few faces she recognized, but most she didn't.
She nearly gaped when she saw the Naiad and Faun in attendance. She'd heard the stories and read the books about them, but never seen one in person. Well, she wouldn't have, considering she'd never left the City until today. There was no reason to. Ever. But converting those lost souls wasn't her job, she was here to socialize and pay her tributes to the Guardians with an appearance.
Still, more surprising and disappointing than even seeing those that needed converting was the sight of a particular redhead. She grit her teeth and balled up her fists as she spotted her arch nemesis flirting with two demons--"My masseuse!" she uttered incredulously. Seriously? She wastes no time...
Not wanting to let Enya have all the fun, Neve relaxed then strolled towards the group, pointedly bumping Enya's hip with hers to try and knock her off balance. "Naveed, Sweety!" she cooed, air-kissing his cheek and then turned with her eyes slightly hooded towards the pae she's seen around the streets of the city, but did not actually know personally. "Well hello there tall, dark and handsome. I'm Neve." she held her hand out, fingers pointing down, for the sparkly dark blue demon.

Kratos had just made up his mind to leave when a bright ornage colored Angel pushed her way between him and the other demon who was once beside him. She glanced between the two and made some suggestive purr like tone in her voice before asking for a drink. He quirked a brow at her and narrowed his eyes, not amused in the least and flicked his tail a few times. He cast his glance towards the purple male as if to say 'This one's all yours bud' and turned his attention else where.
He gripped his glass and took a swig, having made up his mind to not buy the orange gal a drink.... that is until another one appeared. The blue demoness shoved herself in between the two, pushed the orange one out of the way and made gestures to the purple male. Good, she can be distracted over him too, leave him be.
'Well hello there tall, dark and handsome. I'm Neve.'
He shut his eyes and let out a groan. His grip around his drink tightened further. Great. She was talking to him. Maybe... he could pretend he wasn't tall, dark and.....handsome?? He peered over at this Neve and then down at her outstretched hand. What, was he supposed to take it?
Half heartedly he reached out too but was saved.... or possibly just embarrassed. Either way he looked at it, it didn't matter. "Bia....." he said, a mixture of a grunt, a growl and relief. He looked over at the ice cream now dripping down Neve's outstretched arm. He bit back a smirk, set his glass down and reached behind to grab some napkins. "Terribly sorry.... Neve was it?" he said as he slung his arm over his sister, drug her closer, then took a napkin, whipped off Neve's hand and then took it and placed a kiss upon it, peering up with a soft smirk.
He glanced back over at the orange gal, wondering if any ice cream had splattered onto her. "All clean here, are we Darlin'?" he offered her a sly smile before taking her hand and kissing it as well. Might as well play up to it if he was going to be stuck here. "Don't believe I caught your name. Names Kratos." he said now, to both ladies. "Aaannnd this is my clumsy sister Bia...." he sighed and shut his eyes.

Booths, music, food, drinks, and Pae everywhere! The poor angel's attention was being pulled in so many directions at once, he didn't even know where to start first. He'd heard something about a party, and that made him think balloons, then his mother suggested he check it out, then more thoughts about balloons, there was something about the Guardians, and this being a festival thrown by the faithful Pae'il from the City up above, and...
Speaking of balloons...
His attention was captured by the bright pink Fauny who had just gone bouncing into the festival. Were those balloons on her hip? Hey, look, there were cookies too! Oh wait...not any more there weren't. He started to frown, disappointed, but then, ooo, look lemonade stand!
Changing directions again, the blue and purple angel wandered from one diversion to the next, eyes bright with excitement and wonder for every new sight and tasty looking goods from the booths.

It had taken everything Kasmai had thrown at him to get his father to leave the house. He hadn't left in months, it seemed like. Kasmai had done all of the cooking, all of the cleaning, all of the laundry, all of the shopping. He'd singlehandedly kept this family alive and together, but he'd had enough. His father was killing himself slowly, and if something wasn't done Kasmai knows he'd just waste away into nothingness.
It'd been a long time since Mother and Cari had disappeared. Kasmai hardly even remembers them, now. Sometimes he'd hear someone that sounded like Mother, but never quite perfectly. Cari was harder to picture. They'd never been particularly close.
In sore need of the fresh air and contact with other pae, Kasmai had dragged his reluctant father out of their home and to the party. He'd never been particularly religious, but lately he'd been praying to the Guardians to make his father well again. He's all that Kasmai has now, and if he lost him....he's not sure what he'd do.
Masozi had agreed to go to the celebration, but what was the point? Of course, he hadn't seen much point in refusing, either. So he'd gathered his energy and come with Kasmai to this festival. So many happy people. It all seemed so dreary to him. What did he have to be happy about? He'd promised himself when Cari and Kasmai were born that he'd give them what he'd never had: a whole, united family. A father who stayed with them through thick and thin. And for what? His perfect nuclear family had been ripped apart. Miniel had grown distant, then eventually just disappeared altogether, taking Cari with her.
He sighs and shakes his head. Better to just forget that now. Forget the past and focus on the present. He has Kasmai, who'd been so caring and so instrumental in keeping what remained of their family together. Masozi had always felt bad about his reclusiveness, and making Kasmai do all the work, but he just didn't have any energy, physical or otherwise.
He glances over at his son, smiling encouragingly at him. He somewhat suspects Kasmai aims to introduce him to other women, in hopes of repairing his love life, but he'd be disappointed.

Having set his glass down only a moment before, Naveed only blinked, otherwise nonplussed when the fiery angel appeared at his shoulder. "Why, my dear, Enya," he smiled, eyes shifting to the icy demon who seemed to appear out of nowhere as well. "And, Lady Neve! You're looking fabulous as always, my dear," he praised, returning the air-kiss. "I hadn't expected either of you to grace this simple little party with your lovely presences! What a wonderful surprise!"
Enya had reflexively recoiled when the blue demon tried to knock her over with her backside. Ugh. Good thing though, she noted, unable to help smirking to herself when soon there was ice cream flying through the air from yet another female's arrival. Heh heh, nicely timed. Gliding gracefully around to Naveed's other side, away from Neve, Enya took only a moment to shoot the other female a look before shifting her expression once more to something more sultry. "Oh, Naveed, honey, you say the sweetest things," she purred, then turned her attention back to the other male. Ah, that was his sister then? Made sense, given their similar appearance.
Enya turned on the charm, tucking in her chin to look up from beneath hooded lids at the male. "Kratos? A pleasure to meet you, sir, and your dear sister. Enya," she offered her hand, pointedly trying to ignore Neve's presence as much as she could at this point. Cold little hussy. "And this is the best masseuse the City has ever had, aren't you, Naveed, honey?"
Naveed chuckled, shaking his head slightly. "Oh, dear Enya, you flatter me so. She may be exaggerating a bit," he added with a smirk. "Well, only a little. Pleasure to meet you both."

Cherry skipped across the beach to join the masses. It'd been a long time since she had actually been invited to such a thing. Not many people talked to her, but for the life of her, she never exactly knew why. She was fun, creative, happy all the time, if a smidge devious, but mostly innocent and sweet!
"Oh Yey! I found the Party!" she giggled and flittered the rest of the way to where the crowds were amassing.
There was so much to take in! Music, games, tables with lots of edible goodies... it was almost like a carnival and she giggled with delight.
She spun around, giggling to herself as she took in all the sights around her, but froze upon seeing a rather sad sight. Some poor girl dropped her ice cream and looked positively saddened by the event.
Cherry huffed slightly and stepped closer, placing her hands upon her hips. "Well, that wasn't vewy nice, makin' a sweet widdwle girwl dwop her ice cweam..."

Not exactly her 'cup of tea' so to speak...though neither was tea, really, whatever that had to do with anything...but, there was Guardians' work to be done. The faithful were here in abundance, a pleasant change from most of their work, but one could not relax completely. Not when even the heretics had answered the call.
Stretching away from the crowds, Lailah had taken some time away from the festivities to center herself and keep her mood at ease. She was getting better at reigning in the tension of being among so many Pae'il at once, but she still needed to step away into the quiet now and then to keep an objective eye on the situation.
Taking a deep breath, then letting it out slowly and settling her wings closely against her back, the crimson-haired Squire set out into the crowd once more, attention on alert for any of the heretics that may show signs of not being complete lost causes.
Eligor watched his fellow Squire from a distance while leaning on his own staff. She did seem much calmer than the bundle of rage he remembered her being as they'd grown up together. The Guardians did great things, even among their own, who were taught to care for others first. Sometimes, they were blessed with unexpected boons in repayment for their good work. And he had to admit, Lailah had been doing good work as of late, showing more of a willingness to work with the other Squires, an openness towards teamwork he hadn't remembered her showing before.
While pondering this change, he offered distracted smiles and nods to the many City dwellers who had come down to celebrate and show their devotion today. It truly was a great way to honor the Guardians, while also aiming to spread word of their glory to the unenlightened masses of the Isle. Even some of the heretics that attended may not remain so at this rate. Surely, if they could just be shown the glory of the Guardians, the good work they did for those who honored them, the unenlightened could be educated and shown the error of their ways. They could turn back towards the light and be saved from their ignorance.
Well, Lailah had moved on her way, so should he do the same. Picking up his magical staff, he smiled in that same distracted manner, nodding politely to those who looked in his direction as he made his way back into the crowd to mingle.

More and more pae were arriving. Skye supposed he should stand and begin mingling. The sand beneath him was cooler than the rest of the beach, and it made him reluctant to stand and move around. The sun was hot. It made him drowsy. Closing his eyes for a bit, Skye realized it also made him a bit thirsty. Tiredly opening his eyes again, Skye forced himself to his feet. Looking around, he saw a bar and an ice cream booth. At the first, the bar, there were a lot of pae. Five or six, at least. However, at the ice cream booth there appeared to only be one. He liked those odds better. Less chance of being bumped or having something spilled on him. He brushed the sand off of himself before starting to walk quickly across the hot beach. It didn’t take him long to make it to the ice cream booth. The pae that was there was a deep green angel. “Single-scoop vanilla on a cone, please,” he said to the pae running the booth. As his order was being filled, he turned to the pae next to him and saw that she had an ice cream cone already. “So.... Are you enjoying the party?” he asked nervously. Small talk was obviously not one of Skye’s strong points.
