Archolite Hunter of the dusk In a guild dedicated to pokemon, it's nothing special to be obsessed with pokemon. I've been playing the games ever since the first ones came out, and as a matter of fact I've been playing them longer than you've been alive. You don't want to get into a pissing contest here because the whole thread will get soaked in urine. Or something like that. Suffice to say, everyone here is a die-hard pokemon fan, many of whom are competitive battlers or semi-competitive battlers with an intimate knowledge of abilities, type match-ups, and what a pokemon's base stats are. I am MALE! So what? That being said, I hope you can back up your claims. No one's managed to beat my triple battle team yet and I'd be very impressed if you could. PM me/post your Friend Code so we can battle Go easy on her. We were all 14 once. wink I don't know who decided my thread is now the introductory forum but here goes. The name's Mitchell. I'm 20, been playing since I was 6 (dat red version, son). I'm a woman. So feminine. I won my last match 6-0. I've played multiple hundreds of matches in Gen 4. And maybe like 120 games in Gen 5. All jokes aside, I think you should stop saying how good you are. I'm trying to find a nice way to say it, but.. What's gonna happen is someone is gonna take you seriously and lay down a 6-0 smackdown on you. Then you might get your feelings hurt for talking all that smack. =/ Your enthusiasm for Pokemon is always welcome! That IS what this guild is for after all. Just don't get cocky about your battling prowess. wink I will battle you if you'd like. Shoot me a PM when you're ready. I'll dig up a copy of Standard Rules and send that to you. I think the way Gen 6 does it is Level 50 instead of 100. So just make sure your Pokes are 50+ in Level. Anything above will drop to level 50 with the respective stats they would have at Level 50. I don't know if Pokemon rise to Level 50 though. im not cocky... i trust my pokemon to the fullest <3 *i trust my pokemon more then i trust my self* and as for the normal battle pokemon dont rise to level 50. ive battles people with level 30 pokemon on normal. i have one pokemon i love the most though i use him to take out the entire pokemon league. very useful when leveling very weak pokemon. But like i said im helping my friend right now ):> so i have to put battles on hold for about a few days-weeks depending on how busy i am T.T Hint: *i love grass types*

One of the rulesets does level them up to 50, but that's not the rules that it uses for random match-ups. When you challenge someone you can choose the rules that set all pokemon, above and below, to 50

Level 50 T-tar doesn't even make sense, lmfao. xD #LanceD-nites.

I think they wanted the wifi matchups to be more accessible, since they don't auto-level up, only down. If you needed a team of lvl 100 pokemon, it wouldn't see any use for the first several weeks. I still only have 1 lvl 100 poke in the new game, because grinding to 50 it a lot easier than grinding to 100.

Gen 5 ruined that. Gen 6 made this, which is acceptable, but I'd still prefer Level 100 Battles.

I know there are Max values for level 50s and 100s but maybe the scaling changed making 50s a more viable option.

I know there are Max values for level 50s and 100s but maybe the scaling changed making 50s a more viable option. The differences are absurdly small. The only 'true' difference is this. Everything has slightly higher stats given the power scaling. That sounds confusing, but think about this. Every Pokemon already has stats at Level 1. It may only be 6 Attack and 12 HP. HP is gives the biggest jumpstart. But that jumpstart matters more at lower levels. It matters the least at Level 100 and the most at Level 1. So basically, something that does 95.3% - 102.6% damage when both Pokemon are level 100 might be dropped to 95% - 102.3% when the exact same Pokemon are both level 50. Giving a slightly better chance of survival in ALL cases. I made those numbers up, but it's the same concept. Also, one of the more concrete changes is Substitute/Seismic Toss. Before, A Base 100 HP Pokemon like Jirachi would need perfect IV's and 252 HP EV's to make a substitute for 101 HP to survive Blissey's Seismic Toss (Seismic Toss does damage equal to the Pokemon's level). At Level 50 it can do the same exact thing but only needs 25 or more HP IV's as opposed to the perfect 31 to create a Sub with 51 HP for the same effect against Seismic Toss. As far as I know, there is no coding problems to jump everything's level to 100 for a match. That would be silly, and I'm sure the elite game designers at Game Freak would have no problem implementing this battle style into the game. Your post confused me a little, not sure if you were implying something along these lines. wink
