Figure it out? Well, that was awful helpful. Jake stood still trying to figure out what was going to happen. He was so deep in thought he didn't realize what was happening until it was too late. He got launched. He wasn't ready for the sudden acceleration. He flailed about as he tried to regain his composure.

Once he managed to straighten himself out, he looked around to see if he could spot the temple. He thought he might have gotten a glimpse before the trees started blocking his view. He either kicked off the trees at slight angles to help slow him down or used his semblance to create a clone to move him out of the way of incoming branches until he finally landed.

He took a quick three sixty to make sure that there were no grim nearby. There didn't appear to be any, that could be a good or bad thing. Either he happened to land where there were none, or someone has enough angst to attract the grim to them. Guess he'll find out soon enough.

He started running in the direction he thought he saw the temple in. About two minutes into his run he spotted some grim. Good, that meant it was the former option and not the latter. He drew his sword and started slicing through them quickly without really slowing down. He looked behind and saw a couple chasing him and smiled. He would allow the numbers to build before stopping so that they would prove more if a challenge and he could really test his skills.

A loud rustling could be heard as Daren led a trio of Beowulf through the trees. His claws retracted into his gauntlets as they transformed and detached into his pair of pistols. He made a dive through some bushes, tumbling into a clearing near Kyo as landed on one knee facing the Grimm, now facing as he foes as he began to fire at the horde. Once they started getting close, he turned his guns back into claws and flipped back out of range from the beast's claws. Jumping between a pair of trees, he gained some height before jumping onto the back of a Beowulf, jamming a claw into the back of its neck. "Yeehaw, ride 'em cowboy!" he called with a laugh as rode the beast for a bit like a rodeo as it thrashed about. The other two made to swipe at him, but he pulled his claw out and jumped off in time as his ride fell dead. "I got one for each of you ugly bastards, question is, you wanna be stabbed or shot?" he raised his claws up as he smirked cockily at the monsters. One swiped a claw at him while the other went in for a bite, but Daren did another dive roll past them and swiped at their legs. "You lose." He grinned as his claws turned into pistols again and shot them both in the head, finally putting the farse to an end. "Man, I hope every class is this fun." he stood up as his pistols turned back into claws and he retracted them back into his gauntlets.

The difference between the good guys and the bad guys

Kyo's ears twitched slightly as the sounds of the forest blasted him from all angles. In the distance he could hear the sounds of the Grimm attacking someone in the forest. The noise they made was easily distinguishable as he moved thru the underbrush. Stopping here and there he sniffed the air, for now atleast he couldn't catch any of their scent so he would not be in the looks of a fight for as far as he could tell. Stopping suddenly tho the scent of the Beowulf hit his nose strongly as he got a good whiff, there was more mixed in with the scent. Two other's were in the same direction as the group and atleast one of them was active the stench of sweat easy to detect. "Tch already" he muttered as he rushed forward towards the smell.

As he neared the yells from Daren were annoying to say the least as kyo moved thru the brush towards where he could hear the teen yelling taunts at the Beowulf. As he got closer both the sounds and smells got stronger as he combined his tonfa's again to a spear and held it behind his back. As he got closer and finally neared the opening where the two were at Daren had by all sights gotten the last Beowulf with a shot to the head. Out of the tree's another came down from Daren from above as Kyo finally moved into range. "Above" he yelled to Daren as a circular pane appeared just above the boy as the creature's claws connected with it only to be forcefully repulsed back. With that moment of confusion from the creature Kyo was already upon it as his spear pierced it's neck and was thrown to the ground several feet from Daren on it's side the spear stuck in the creatures body

Standing there kyo sighed in relief before he walked over to the corpse. Putting his foot on the things neck and yanked his spear free. One less of them in the forest to possibly cause harm. "What a bunch of annoying creatures" he muttered to himself as he exhaled a bit a bead of sweat falling down the side of his face.

Is whether they use a human shield or make themselves one.

"I dunno 'bout that. Gets the blood going, y'know?" Daren said with a small shrug as he walked over to the boy. "Thanks for the save, by the way. So...partners?" he held out a hand with an expectent grin. In his mind, why wait for them to make eye contact? The two of them ran into each other in the massive forest, and that was good enough for him.

Shenaiya growled as she heard more coming. She hated these creatures... They fed on hate and fear and sadness... And she knew that yes, she did hate... So she knew they were drawn her way. But they were also drawn to blood which she had obviously just set flying by the kills of these Beowolves. Although she wasn't expecting the male who couldn't keep quiet, to come crashing into the small clearing with some on his heels and then started to ride one. While he was busy with them, one went her way... She was a girl right? She waited until it got close, seeming to pay attention to Daren's fighting, and as it lunged, she caught it under the jaw with her right fist and sent it flying.

Then there was a third... Jumping out to help Daren as another came down on his head. She rolled her eyes as now it seemed there wre three of them. Okay... Since there were three, Shenaiya turned towards the direction she was heading and went that way. It was obvious she had seen them, but it almost seemed like she was ignoring them. It wasn't like she had locked eyes with either of them anyway.

Jake felt a giant grin come across his face as he looked behind him and saw a group of at least twelve creatures of grim. At least three of which were Ursa. This was a big enough group for him to test his killing skills on. He had to know he could rely on himself when a situation gets tough after all.

He drew his sword and took a battle stance. He allowed the grim to form a circle around him and waited for one to attack. He quickly side stepped the lunging beowolf that was attempting to bite a chunk out of him and sliced it in half. The another attempted to attack and Jake countered it as well. What Jake failed to notice was one that managed to get close behind him until it was almost too late. The beowolf slashed at him and he jumpedout of the way and managed to escape with only a scratch. "well that's not very nice." he said as he caused flames shoot from the tip of his sword and cut off the path of two of the beowolfs and an Ursa. He then proceeded to dispatch of two Ursas and three beowolfs quickly, not missing a beat between one kill and the next.

By the time he was done with them, the flame died down enough to allow the trapped grim through. Jake smiled as he readied himself. A beowolf charged and Jake jumped over, stabbing his sword through the beast's head, then charged forward himself and lopped off the head of the Second beowolf. He then finished by dodging a swipe from the Ursa, stabbing it's middle, and letting loose flame effectively roasting it to death from the inside. Once he was done he straightened himself and sheathed his weapon.

"It might be smarter to decide that when we aren't in harms way" Kyo said simply as he tapped the side of his spear as the tip extracted so it was just a staff. "Lets not linger here to long" he muttered pushing his staff into the dirt to wipe off the blood as quickly as he could to muffle the scent of the creature he had just killed. These creatures didn't rely as strongly on their sense of smell as he did but it would help to cover as much as he could. "Clean off your weapon" he told Daren quickly as he sniffed the air. The other one that had been in the clearing had moved quickly from the area. The evidence of one of the dead beowulf's a ways from them along with her scent having weakened were easily evidence of that.

"I can see this is going to be the start of a thrilling friendship..." Daren muttered under his breath as he grabbed a handful of leaves off a tree to wipe off his claws. "We're in the middle of Grimm country, how do you know there even is an 'out of harm's way'?" he pointed out. Just because they killed some didn't mean there wouldn't be more. "Let's just pick a direction, hope we head to the temple, and we'll find others along the way. Kicking a** during this process goes without saying.

"Use your head, They are basically beasts so there senses are the strongest weapon that they have in picking out prey." he told him starting to walk off as he took off his hoodie and tossed it into a nearby bush. "Then again as a human you might not be able to understand that very well as it is easier to understand thru experience then being told" he said with a small smirk as he put his staff over his shoulder. "Besides Grimm country or not you can still get around without making a giant commotion if you try, or is riding them like a horse the only way you can fight?" he asked another grin and chuckle following his words as he started towards the direction the girl had gone. It was not the best practice to solo roam in an area packed with enemies who all want you dead.

Shenaiya continued to walk as she headed through the trees towards the northern part of the forest. This was such a large forest full of Grimm... Which was not the best partner, she might add. "Well this is gonna be thrilling..." She said with a sigh as she came upon a Death Stalker. Just great.... "God Dammit!" She said as it swung it's giant tail at her, trying to get her with the stinger. She must have interrupted it's feed because there looked to be bits of bones and ripped grass near it. Jumping over the tail, she got knocked into a tree as it changed direction and smacked her in the air. That counted as two hits... She stood easily brushing off the tree bits before racing forwards, dodging the tail as it hit the ground near her, and punched it as hard as she could, her Gauntlet forming over her fist a second before she hit, and broke one of the bone like structures over it's head.

"Bah. Stealth is boring. I don't do careful and quiet." Daren said as he folded his hands behind his head. As for Kyo's ears, Daren was honestly completely indifferent to them. In his neighborhood, faunus weren't uncommon, and he even ran with a few during his short gang days. "I figure if I'm gonna get caught anyway, might as well put on a show and cut to the fight already." he grinned. "The horse riding bit was just for shits and giggles. What can I say, I like to have a bit of fun before I end things."

Jake had just finished dusting himself off when he heard the noises of a battle in the distance. "That sounds like it's going to be one of the big guys." he said excitedly as his cat ears twitched, trying to find the direction the noise was coming from. Once he pinpointed it he darted off in that direction.

It took him about thirty seconds to get there, he wasn't too far away and he was moving at his top speed. He climbed up into a tree to have a good view of what was going on before doing anything. He saw a girl fighting off a Death Stalker, and heard one or two others heading in the same direction. "This should be fun." he said as he jumped out from the tree, unsheathing his sword as he did so."Watch yourself!" He grabbed onto the tip of the tail and used his sword to shoot flames at the body.

The Death Stalker didn't much like being roasted as it started swinging it's tail rapidly. Jake had no choice but to let his sword go as he held onto the tail for dear life. "Crap! This is what I get for not thinking that far ahead!" he shouted as he continued trying to hold on. If he lost his grip at the wrong g time it would end badly for him.

Shenaiya had just about hit the Death Stalker again when she heard a voice above her, without looking she did a back handspring backwards to get away and noticed the cat Faunus shooting flames at the stalker. She rolled her eyes at this because soon, he was being slung around and had lost his weapon. She wasn't going to touch his weapon, who knew what kind of safety those things had anyway! She did have to save him at some point right... Running forwards again she jumped over the head and towards where the tail was connected to the body. She started punching as hard as she could to try and tear the tail from the stalker. That wasn't making it happy, as it started trying to pincer her off... This was so annoying!
