Suddenly, all the food vanished. The room emptied out, and on the ground, a large emblem began to glow green, flooding the area with light.
At the center, was Settimo, ready to reach out for a ring that was hovering in the air. He was quickly knocked back, though. And a large gelatinous creature with bright green eyes formed around the trinket.
Your hunger feeds me. Yet, I hunger more. You seek the Green ring of Gluttony? Eat or be eaten, that is the only way!
The large slime swallowed Settimo, then turned its attention to the rest of the students around.
OOC Gulping down Gluttony An avatar of Gluttony has appeared to defend the ring! Thanks to all the people chowing down, it has been empowered. You must defeat it or risk be eaten alive! Gluttony has 100 HP. 3 Auto damage. Instead of a normal attack or Fear attack, you can try to take a bite out of gluttony. If you do, roll 1d6 and do not take the normal auto damage. 1 = take 15 damage. Gluttony takes no damage. 2-5 = take 10 damage, but deal 10 flat damage. 6 = Deal 15 damage to gluttony, heal for 15 hp. If you are KO'd in this fight, your character gets swallowed up by Gluttony. "Settimo!" It wasn't that Hollandaise was terribly fond of the mafia associate - nor was she particularly unfond of him... But he was useful and to see his usefulness swallowed whole was unnerving. Her hands crooked and she clawed at the goop that had taken the man.

Hollandaise felt them ripple under her skin, piercing outwards. But even though she scratched at the gelatinous goop, the thorns could gain no hold. Hissing briefly as they retracted under her skin, she, too retreated, eyeing the thing warily.

Cearney watched with widened eyes as Settimo was present and then, err, not present. And then the slime turned towards them.
And he had been really hoping for no more of these.
These being fights. How bad he was at them was honestly embarrassing.

Cearney shook out his hand after missing entirely, before attempting something else... Namely taking something random out of his bag and throwing it at the mass like a dart.
He winced immediately after realizing he threw something that was his. He resisted the urge to go pick it up, even if it was just a stapler.

Cearney then decided to go retrieve the stapler anyway, because after the ensuing swipe from the slime, he was quickly beginning to realize it might have been his only shot.
Why couldn't he talk his way out of these things?

Unfortunately, trying to throw the stapler again in the direction of the slime didn't work, and he watched it fall down to the ground, completely missing the slime altogether.
He hrrumphed.

There were a few moments Cearney wondered why he had even gotten himself into this mess in the first place. He knew he had wanted the FEAR bracelet, and it had served use, but was it worth being utterly destroyed by a gluttonous slime?
For the ring, of course. Cearney just had to tell himself that.

Aye, this wasn't working. At all.
Cearney decided that instead of risking himself further, he'd back away from the gluttonous slime and try to regroup. The last thing he wanted to do was end up... in it... Like Settimo did.

Shun took a step back as he saw the gelatinous being swallow up Settimo. So much for that guy. The Reaper called out his blades and began to circle around the big ooze. He wasn't too certain what the best angle of attack would be on this thing. Perhaps staying at range would be better, but he was far more comfortable using his daggers over his newer weapon.
Gritting his teeth, he moved on in and lashed out at the jelly, then darted back as a tendril whipped out to try and snatch him. All it managed to do was smack him a bit.

Strider was pissed because not only was he down two sandwiches (they had disappeared into thin air like the rest of the food), but even worse his selfies were being interrupted. You did not interrupt a star during their close up.
Unfortunately the gluttony avatar wasn't really something he wanted to mess with either. It was gooey, green, and screaming "you are going to do have to do dry cleaning after this."
Still, a shark's best weapon were his giant jaws, and Strider managed to chomp down with his teeth at least once before backing away and letting all the other kids deal with it.

Someone yelled in frustration and AJ turned his head back to the tables full of foods. They were no longer there, at the centre was the magnified version of the green emblem. Settimo appeared from nowhere finally, reaching for the ring which was the goal of their trip.
The green ring talked, after a giant slime swallowed the reaper and shot its bright green eyes on them. Like other students, he channeled his fear to wrap around him to enhance his speed so that he could deliver some useful blows with his claws. After all, they were supposed to get that guy out of the jelly. Who know if he could suffocate inside the monster?
