As Uru turned from his opponent, a habit he does not normally have, the grunt grabbed at him. With a growl, the demon hound socked him hard in the face.

"Stay." He growled.

Two grunts moved towards her. Immediately, her gaze fell to her brother who normally would jump in at this time to 'protect' her. Though, she is capable of defending herself, her fear abilities weren't exactly working here. She was a defensive fighter. She parried and dodged, took advantages of openings to turn around and disorient. Enough time for her to escape. Though, she is capable of dishing it. But there wasn't any room to move down here! So many creeple! Who was friendly? Who was hostile? She got lost in thought as she was attacked.

The ghoul would her arms about, pushing away the grunt's arms, parrying an attack as she lashed out forward to get a good hit to the opponent's shoulder. She growled as menancing as she could as she kept on the boil. She was taking pages from her brother's book. Stay offensive, give them no time to act.

Apparently her retaliation was not expected as the grunt came back at the ghoul with fervor, swinging hard and swinging wildly. Brenna could bare block the attacks, let alone get another strike in herself.

Brenna squeaked loudly as she was pushed up against the wall, falling to the floor, and barely missing a kick to the flank. She rolled away.

Rolling away gave her time and space to assess and read the grunt as he approached. He was angry, he was upset with her. She was a ghoul. He was a boil. He was having trouble. Oh the misogyny. She just had to wait for him to get so angry that the guy slipped up.

"Come on, big boil, you can hit harder than that, yes?"

There it was. The tell-tale cry of a man full of anger as he ran towards her with himself wide open as he pulled back for a strong attack. She came at him from below with a flourish of movements and the grunt was the floor.

The grunt managed to reach around and claw at his legs. With a hiss, Shun pulled the pistol from the holster and fired down once into the squirming form under him. Once that was done, he glanced to Edel and nodded.

"We have two paths. I saw some go in both."

They were stronger together, but he didn't like the idea of leaving one side unchecked.

"Divide and conquer."

He paused as AJ came up asking is they were after the rings as well.

"No."

"Looked like you were having some trouble there." The ghoul panted as she came to her brother's side. She was out of breath, slightly sore, and yet her heart was racing. Not from the fight, but from what was going on down here. They weren't the only ones that were intercepted by grunts. During the fight, she noticed that two individuals had departed down two hallways, followed by few others.

"Briefly distracted." Uru grunted as he edged around the others. He started off toward one hallway, instantly curious about what was going on. He was going to get the bottom of this. Whatever was happening beneath the gym was going to get his attention. He had assumed his sister would follow. "You were the one getting thrown around."

"I can protect myself, thank you very much!" She squawked.

Strider was an innocent passerbyer, actually. He was on his way to classes when one of the reapers fleeing the scene rammed into him, causing the shark boil to drop his backpack.

He immediately bore his teeth and snapped at the reaper, which would have ensued in a fight had the reaper not torn away, clearly more afraid of what was in the cavern than Strider. Maybe the reaper just wanted to complete the job.

Either way, it had Strider investigating the room. What he found was even more people shoving into him, and that wasn't okay. So he began lobbing ice balls at anyone that got too close.

At least he was doing some damage at all. In that one class he'd taken, he'd barely been able to damage a gnome. A freakin' gnome.

Now he was beginning to think he was a little in over his head. He could hear gunshots- real gunshots and the grunts' aggression was only rising.

Strider winded up his best punch (which was actually incredibly wimpy) and socked the grunt right between the eyes. It wasn't very forceful, but it was enough to make the grunt go down and that was enough for Strider.

Seeing as he had apparently found himself in a dangerous situation, he hurried along the path and tried not to get into another fight for now.

Xiu's smile faltered at AJ's arrival, concern surging through her the moment her eyes fell on her friend. She had been hoping that he wouldn't show up--that he wouldn't involve himself in this shady business--but then again, Edel had probably been hoping the same of her. Maybe stubbornness was just something that all Amity students possessed.

Tearing her gaze away from where it had been frozen on, and glowering at, AJ's bracelet, the baku slowly shook her head and followed up Shun's short response. "We're just here to...scope out the situation." Interesting how he asked specifically about the rings though--interesting, and concerning.

"So we're splitting up?" she asked, glancing between Shun and Edel. She would have liked to keep everyone together, but she knew it to be impossible when there were at least two places to check out. Giving a little nod to indicate that she was all for it, she cleared her throat and then fixed her attention on the amphisbaena.

"AJ, where are you going to go?" Because in light of what had happened last time, it was hard not to be a little worried about him.
