Listening to W'dre talk brought a peaceful lull to Vera's thoughts. These were simple things, homely things. Domestic details that she'd never before been able to share with anyone else. She'd always been the one to worry about Vedra's health and Vedra's well being. "You'll have plenty of time," Vera assured W'dre, petting his hair gently.
He was trying to calm down, and she understood. It was easy to pull him close to her and let him hide in her hair. Easy to pet his hair, to try to soothe him. It felt natural. "Mmm... probably... another hour or so," she said, listening to the silence. "Serenath seems to have taken ill, so we'll have to fly straight, and that'll take a little bit of time."

Did he actually have plenty of time? He wouldn't speak the seed of a thought into existence, but the thought lingered. W'dre pushed it out of mind, leaning his head into Vera's hand as she stroked his hair. It was....nice. Entirely unusual for his usual life, but nice. "I hope that's a lot of time. It feels like sometimes it goes by very quickly."
An hour felt like both a lot of time, and not nearly enough - especially after he'd just commented that time seemed to move so quickly. Though the comment about Serenath had him nudging Dormith to see what he thought. Certainly, he wasn't doubting Vera's assessment of her own lifemate, but given he wasn't ready to leave the warmth of the bed to see for himself, he wanted Dormith's opinion. I can support her as needed.
That didn't say much for him. "Of course. Will she need to eat before we go? Dormith will go if she does," because unless sent on another task, it seemed he was unwilling to leave the side of the sleeping gold.
