Requiem of Whyspers

Fashionable Shapeshifter

PostPosted: Sat Jul 20, 2019 12:01 am
As the attacks flew out from the Snagems, Wren could only watch, something inside of him telling him that this wasn't going to go as smoothly as it looked like it was. Sure, the first three Rhydon went down fairly quickly but the one that Altissima had hit? Something was off about it. It wasn't simply sleeping. It wasn't comatose. It was doing something. He just knew it. He didn't know what it was but, as the machines nearby whirred to life, despite him not hearing hem functioning, he felt a massive spike in his anxiety. "We're gonna die..." He groaned quietly, moving to recall his Lilligant before it was too late.

Unfortunately, by the time he made the attempt, it was already too late. The earth beneath his feet grew soft and loose, his bare feet sinking into the newly created quicksand. Unfortunately, the same had already happened to Altissima. And already, the flower atop her head was changing. It's petals more sharp and blade-like, it's color darkening even as the Channeler watched. Attempting to draw upon her energy and use his Blossom Waltz, he found that he was unable to tap the energy needed. Something was blocking his attempts.

"Lilli...." Altissima's voice had changed somewhat as well. While she normally sounded aloof and somewhat distant, it was rare she sounded truly cruel. But right now that was all Wren could hear in her voice - hatred and cruelty. Even as they sank into the twisted, tainted sand, Altissima refused to return to her ball when Wren tried. Instead, she writhed and wriggled in the shifting sand, pouring black petals not unlike those of roses from her flower and commanded them in a violent whirlwind of cutting edges and explosions of Grass energy via an wild, undirected Petal Dance. If it hit the Rhydon, so be it. All she cared right now was inflicting pain on something in her surroundings. She hated everything at this moment.

In an effort to escape from the pull of the Shadow Pit, he extended an arm toward the nearest wall and willing a single, thick vine to shoot out from it, grabbing the thorny flora and attempting to pull himself back from the shadow infested pit of quicksand with his one hand and his will while still attempting to recall Altissima even as she resisted the command.

Odd breathed heavily once his attack came to an end. For the moment, they were safe from whatever was trying to claim them. However, the Purite in the walls was blocking his soul perception and making it very difficult to sense things in close proximity. Beyond these walls, everything seemed to be clearer but he couldn't sense anything in the immediate area. He didn't really need to, though. Not after seeing how those Protect bubbles returned to sender after claiming some of Terashi's duplicates. "There's a Ghost-type in here somewhere..." He realized. The floor was the only part of this place that wasn't laced with the refined Normal Gem that was blocking his abilities. Tossing out a Pokeball containing Affanoso, he would direct the Dusknoir. "Use Foresight. There's something in here attacking us!" He would tell the Gripper Pokemon as he charged his eyes with spiritual energy and began to look around. It wouldn't take long to realize where it was. "There!" He exclaimed, pointing Affanoso in the correct direction and, subsequently, guiding the crimson beam of energy emanating from the Ghost-type's singular eye across the "formless" body of what could only be a Cofagrigus.

The sequence of events that followed would be lost to him, however, as he was consumed by a mind-bending Hex that, rather than directly harming him, told him a story about this creature. It was in a deep, emotional pain. Somewhere in this hellscape, Ein was holding something precious to this thing as insurance to ensure it's cooperation with him. The longer the Hex went on, however, the more likely he was to become lost to it. He wouldn't get much chance to try considering a way out, though, as his own Cofagrigus would come to his aid. Broque would emerge from his ball, snapping his sarcophagus shut around Odd and using Protect to cut the both of them off from the Ghostly energy. From within the bubble, the Coffin Pokemon would open it's mouth and from within, a swarm of scarab-like insects forged from Bug energy would emerge, preparing to swarm the attacker the moment Baroque released the Protect.

Inside the Ghost-type's empty body, Odd would be slamming his fists against the inside of the sarcophagus. "Stop! Let me out, Baroque! It needs help!" He declared, trying to wrest himself free from his own Pokemon's clutches. If he could get out and explain it to the others, maybe they could strike a deal with this thing to help them fight back against Ein in exchange for whatever he had taken from it? "Ah! Terashi!" The Channeler realized. Reaching out, he attempted to make a momentary connection with Terashi's mind. This was far outside of his expertise so there was no way of knowing if it worked.

~See if you can convince it to help us! Ein's taken something from it but I can't tell what! Maybe we can offer to help get it back?!~ He would think at the Psychic Channeler in the room. Could Terashi even read minds? He didn't know but this was all he could think of right now.

~~~
Lykas sighed as the turrets went down, unaware of just how close he had been to getting double penetrated by a pair of thick black beams of Dark Energy from those turrets on either side of him. When it was over, he'd assess the collection of Elemental Gems he'd managed to get and distribute them to those he felt could make the best use of them. Tossing a Flying Gem to Amaranth and a Fighting Gem to Absinthe, he'd hold onto the Ice Gem for himself for the time being.
Following the path that lead them onward, he would find himself, along with the others, in what looked to be a rather grand atrium. Or what was one, once upon a time. Instead, one of Ein's psychotic creations had taken up residence here as a sort of guard dog. As the mutant Magnequen made it's appearance with it's lovely little swarm of Magnebees, he would try to deflect some of the attacks as best he could by using Will-O-Wisp to discourage direct attack. However, when Magnequen began to direct a coordinated attack as a group, he could do very little to escape. So he did what any wise hybrid would do. He ensured Naiad was in her ball and then released Sphynx. "Roar!" He ordered as he braced for the imminent attack.
Just as the group Discharge went off and he was caught up in the center of it all, he roared in pain alongside the mighty roar unleashed by his Electric-type companion, black threads erupting from his chest in all directions as he prepared to release a Pain Split unlike anything he had ever used before. Taking every ounce of near-fatal pain he had just experienced, he would "share" it like the generous gift-giver that he was with any of the Magnebees that had not fled from Sphynx's Roar.
~~~

Kaya wouldn't get much chance to look for a quiet way in before Darts had provided his own method of entry. So with the door torn asunder and an entry created by force, he would shrug and make his way over to the ruined bulwark the door had once been. Tossing out Mercury, his Azumaril, he would direct the Aqua Rabbit to assist with opening the gates with a bit more ease. Between the Water-type's Huge Power Ability and gratuitous use of Super Power, the door stood no chance. The Snagems efforts created a large enough hole through which to enter the fortress in short order and Kaya recalled his partner with a surplus of praise directed his way in the process.

Once in the old lobby with his strange hive-like structure by the ceiling, he would feel something ominous in the air. He would learn what that ominous thing was in short order as the Magnequen appeared with it's swarm of Minimites. In an effort to cut off the supply of mites, he would draw Rise from it's sheath on his back and aim at the hive. A moment later, a pink beam of energy would fire from the tip of the blade and as it struck the hive, pink chains erupted from the very fabric of space around it, winding through and around one another as countless locks snapped into place everwhere two or more chains crossed. Fairy Lock should make it impossible for additional Minimites to come aid their queen for a short time.

Replacing Rise in it's sheath, the hybrid would watch as the Magnequen's orders were carried out with brutal efficiency. And then one of it's ordered attacks came for him. Watching the massive buzzsaw formed from the Minimites come racing toward him, he held a his hands forward, heels together, and compressed light energy into the space where they met. Waiting for the buzzsaw to draw closer, he focused more and more energy into that single pinprick of light in his hands. When the sawblade was close enough to do so, he'd unleash the Flash Cannon all at once. The blast of light would, hopefully, consume the entire swarm of Minimites coming at him and blast them with enough force to scatter them apart a bit. Doing so might give him and the others enough time to reduce their numbers before they regrouped.

Taking stock of what was going on in the main lobby, he would groan. No one else seemed to have the opportunity to get out of this fight except Ryan. So if his attempt at defense worked, he would follow Ryan's lead and dash toward one of the side doors, away from Ryan and in the opposite direction. It looked like another room on both sides here. Just as well, his hunch appeared to be correct as Wes arrived and confirmed those side doors were, in fact, tied to their way upward and onward.

Looking around at the area as the Rhydon were all put down, a small note of something crossed Reno's mind. While it felt like satisfaction.....it really lingered long beyond what that would be. And when the sensation combined with the slight sound of machinery, Reno snapped to attention as he could feel and see the Rhydon being affected. "Aleister! Get Tesei off the ground!" Reno shouted, dashing towards the one Rhydon planted in the ground as the two Pokemon cooperated to some degree to try and keep themselves above the ground. Reno's way to keep off the ground that was likely to become an absolute hellscape was.....slightly different. As the ground began to give way beneath him, Reno would attempt to leap onto the Rhydon's back. Reaching his hands to attempt at blocking the thing's vision, Reno glanced towards the rest of the group with a tense expression. Unless he got some backup on this plan, he was about to be crushed by a massive stone arm. And even then, that possibility was still very likely. Well, at least the others would be more likely to live. That was a win.

----

Beau would look towards the ground and the oncoming Will-O-Wisp, Beau would grit his teeth for a moment as he debated his options. I mean, if he tanked the wisp, he would probably survive. Probably. Although given he would likely detonate from that sort of impact, Leon might not be so lucky. Dodging it and just letting Leon eat it seemed even worse, since the kid wouldn't likely take too well to being on fire as hell. So...that left Beau with a less than ideal choice. "Red Baron! Brave Bird!" Beau yelled, pointing towards himself. The Fletchinder would take the order in stride, diving at mach speeds to his trainer....and catching an ethereal flame straight to the chest and sending the Pokemon sprawling from the sudden impact. Cringing at the required impact, Beau would decide to try and put something to work by beginning to send out a few small clouds of Powder and making sure to note where Zippo's Pokeball was. Hopefully, he could use big explosions around him and Leon as a good deterrent from this Cofagrigus.

----

Stumbling along with the rest of her crew as they reached the door after their assault across the multiple turrets that had peppered their area, Leslie would find herself now being ordered to take one of the two elevators around them. Why the hell did she need to do that? She felt so physically exhausted that it wasn't even funny, but....stuff needed doing. And so she snapped to attention as she made an effort to dodge away from the attacking Magnemites, bumping into Ryan and standing close to the Water Channeler as she prepared to taunt the offending Magnemites. Which is when the Discharge hit. And Mega Swampert be damned, Leslie was a goddamn lightning rod and that attack would be giving her, Ryan, and any of the others who dodged into the area with them a decent shock. It, however, had a decent side effect: Leslie felt her physical exhaustion melt away. Possibly because she had her nerve endings literally melting due to the electricity coursing through them, but it still worked. And now, she felt energetic as all get out. So she naturally sped along to enter one of the side areas alongside her new best friend/person her static cling was dragging her behind, Ryan. Best friends to adventures, ho!

---

With Aria, she was already in the room when the Vespiquen sprung into action and she at least managed to collect her wits enough when the Magnemites proceeded with attempting to drill them all to death that her and her Carbink were prepared for something. "Alright, Carbuncle, Gravity! Knock off their aim!" Aira proclaimed, watching as a strange pink glow began to consume the area. While the weight increase would make her and the other Snagems feel a little awkward for a moment, the field of high gravity would hopefully send the Magnemite drill plunging into the ground way in front of the rest of the Snagems, giving Aria her opening to dash off for the left side of the area. No one else had gone that way, so she almost felt obligated to go down that route to try and make sure something happened quickly.

Arkelos

PostPosted: Sat Jul 20, 2019 11:17 pm
Arkelos awakes to find himself in unfamiliar surroundings. “Oh my head; Where are we?” he muttered to himself. Looking over his pokemon, making sure everyone is accounted for, he gets up to get his barrings. “Well, I’m not sure where everyone else is. I also get the feeling that teleportation is not going work either.”

After further investigation, Arkelos spots a large tower in the distance. “That tower has a glow I have not seen since Aloha.” Thinking back about the shadow pokemon in Aloha, Arkelos eyes start to gain rage. “Oh for the love of, WHY!? REALLY!? Who on this rock thinks Shadow pokemon are something to harness. IDIOTS! That’s who. Alright, Let’s get a move on.

Arkelos makes his way through an Oasis. Every so often Arkelos would find traces of humans. Broken branches, foot prints, even some litter. “Well I guess I’m on the right trail. Some humans make me sick.” He said picking up some pieces of paper, snack bags, and berry cans.

Climbing up a sand dune peering over the other side, the tower is what feels like arm’s length. When a Massive electrical explosion bursts from the tower. Shortly followed by a consuming dark void. Arkelos felt the dark energy miles away from the tower. “That aura, I- I can- feel it’s power from here. This is only getting worse, not to mention out of hand. I hope anyone nearby have evacuated, and that no one is inside.” Arkelos’ ears begun to twitch more than usual. Letting out a deep sigh, “There are people in that tower isn’t there.”

With all haste he could conjure, Arkelos continued toward the tower. Catching his breath, he stops with several miles still left. “ENOUGH OF THIS! Growlithe, it’s YOUR TIME!” Growlithe pops out of his ball with a fierce look on his face. “Are you ready for it buddy?” Arkelos asked with confidence. Letting out loud bark of approval. “Alright, FETCH BOY!” Throwing the fire stone in his pocket, Growlithe gives chase, effortlessly catching the stone in it’s mouth. Light surround Growlithe, and Arkelos runs toward him. With running speed and using a fallen tree; Arkelos jumps up to land on Arcanine. “Great job, now let’s go and give whoever is causing this some hell!”

Arcanine’s speed is unmatched even for the sandy landscape, flames flashed and flared from it’s paws as it made contact with the sand, it’s mouth shot ribbons of flames. As the two approached the tower opening, Arkelos brought out all his canines; Poochyena, Furfrou, Riolu, Rockruff, and Houndour, all came out and started running behind Arcanine’s jetstreamed, formed by the flames and speed.

“Arcanine, Houndour, Rockruff, and Poochyena; HOWL! Furfrou, bring the rain to this desolate wasteland. Riolu, time to play in the mud.” The four Canines let out a fierce howl that cried from a distance, the echoes rang through the tower nearby, greatly amplifying the sound to almost ear piercing. Furfrous started to busting some hard moves, bring on a rain storm, rain clouds started to form being on a deluge. Muddy sands gave Riolu and advantage throwing several hard muddy sand balls at the Rhydon.”

All the canines jumped forcefully. At the same time Arkelos and Rockruff let out a wave of stone edges that formed dozens of platform pillars, instead of spikes, under every Snagem in the trapped in the sand. The pack landed on the largest platform, with Arkelos and Rockruff falling to the ground barely breathing.

Arkelos looked at Reno, hoping his thought is grasped, “I hope this helps some. Reassure everyone i’ll be fine. I just need- to- - rest.” Arkelos’ falls to the ground, still breathing; barely. Houndour and Arcanine let out some flames upon them to create steam for some cover while Arkelos recovers.

(Characters involved: Darts, Keiko, Aria, Kaya, Crystal, Aile, Amaranth, Abby, Ryan, Leslie, Zwei, and Lykas.)

The large sliding metal door wouldn't budge for Keiko, nor would it 'answer' to the Moon Blasts from Aria's Carbink and before Kaya could even attempted to actually open it the old fashion way, with a key, Darts stepped up and presented the door with his own 'key'. With fierce dragonic might Darts would effortlessly cleave the door in twain, parting it in ways it wasn't designed to. Now an open twisted hole in the tower the door no longer served the purpose of keeping unwanted guests out and the Snagems could freely enter.

The group consisting of Darts, Keiko, Aria, Kaya, and Crystal would combined with the group consisting of Aile, Amaranth, Abby, Ryan, Leslie, Zwei, and Lykas as the two entered through the mutilated entryway and into the bottom most floor of Realgam Tower together. Originally a clean and kept lobby with a checkered floor and metal sculpture of Sudowoodo standing in the middle of twin fountains, the former lobby of Realgam Tower looked nowhere near as it used to now. The fountains were still there though the statues gone and their pumps no longer active as their pools have long since dried. Instead of an opulent chandelier hanging from the ceiling now a twisted almost honeycomb shaped mass of metal clung to the ceiling, many near hexagonal openings dotted across it.

Not long after the Snagems entered a beeping sound mixed with that of buzzing could be heard followed by a swarm of tiny little Magnemite rushing out of the mass of metal hanging from the ceiling, their hive. The barely inch wide Magnemite would hover in place just outside the hive in a swarm before the hive its self parted open in two allowing a grotesque looking Vespiquen to hover out. Distorted from numerous experiments the Vespiquen now had a strange magnet-like appendage in place of the red hexagon they usually have on their forehead along with a yellow antenna. The beehive Pokemon also lacked wings and instead again possessed magnets which looked very similar to those seen on Magnemite, Ton, and Zone. Various other bits of metal were embedded in its organic flesh and once vibrant yellow coloring was now dulled and near gray. A mutant Pokemon servant to Ein, one of his many experimental slaves, one of which Snagem had encountered similar before, a Vespiquen altered to command Magnemite and the like in ways similar to Combee, creating a perfect hive mind, many bodies acting as one and thus the perfect security force under Ein's command.

With a metallic buzzing like sound the mutant Vespiquen would command the swarm of miniature Magnemite to attack the Snagems as it executed Attack Order. The mites would combine together via magnetism to create shapes to attack with. A trio of 'spikes' would slam down into the ground around Ryan, Lykas, Leslie, and Zwei, feigning to stab them but instead intending to corral them together as they dodged the spikes. The mites would executed a group Discharge through the inner area to fry those within the limits.

Another break off group would form a deadly disc which rotate violently like a saw blade, completely with sharp 'teeth'. The blade made of tiny Magnemite would fly at Crystal and Keiko at a deadly speed, aiming to cut them down. However if it missed, or rather when it did, they would discover that the disc was actually locked onto another; Kaya, the mites using their magnetism to seek out the hybrid with the metallic body, aiming to slam into him and explode with extreme violence. Unless stopped the 'disc' would not stop its pursuit.

The other five (Darts, Aria, Aile, Amaranth, Abby) would find themselves staring down the bulk of the swarm in the form of a massive 'drill' spiraling towards them, picking up speed along the way and also electricity as it began to crackle more and more violently before it became covered in a mass of electricity rocketing straight for them, exploding in a fierce Discharge upon contact with whatever, though at the speed it gained it may be wise to do something to stop it before it got too close.

After the electro drill was over another presence would arrive in the form of a man with white hair riding in on a motorcycle hovering over the ground. Leaping from the bike came an Espeon and an Umbreon, one firing a Psybeam the other a Dark Pulse at the mutant Vespiquen which immediately executed Defend Order to shield its self with a wall of its Magnemite drones. Jumping off the bike and raising his glasses was none other than the former Silver Snagger, Team Snagem Wes.

“Sorry I'm late.” He said with a tone of confidence. “The Gridd told me you guys managed to break through, I came running as soon as I could. They also informed me that an inside source tells them that Ein is preparing something big up there to take care of you guys. What kind of source they could have in there I don't know, all I know is if he is trying to buy time and has something planned it can't be good. I do know the elevator still works for whatever reason, you just have to activate the switches in the opposite rooms. Why don't some of you take the left room and some more the right and we'll get up to Ein quick. The rest of us will handle this thing.” Wes said as he took out another Pokeball and stared down the Vespiquen.

On either side of the room were automatic opening doors which would contain a floor on a track which would slide into another room, in these rooms the Snagems would find switches to activate the elevator back in the lobby. They would also find other things but first thing was first, who would go where and who would stay and fight? Regardless it was indeed strange that Ein kept this running, but for now they had no other choice, trap or no trap.

Darts was still beat from his little door cracking flashy entrance earlier, so he wasn't about to trust throwing out something of that magnitude and still being able to stay in control of himself. Instead, he reaches to the metal-plated floor below them, using only a small shot of blue Outrage to allow him to rip free and roll the metal panel up and in front of the oncoming drill, creating at least a small barrier between the people behind him and the Magnemites as the Discharge flies past overhead. He grits his teeth underneath the crest at the sound of squealing metal on metal as the swarm of magnets begins boring through his makeshift shield, no doubt preparing another electric attack. Even the remnants of the charge sizzle against his golden hands and he has to strain to maintain his grip. Had he had the energy to shout something at the remaining Snagems he would have, but surely they'd get the idea of acting without his prompting.

Zwei and Yang continued to assist as they could, bounding around and taking out turrets left and right, before, too soon he thought, they got smacked a bit by a normal beam right before the rest were destroyed.
Climbing off his Pokemon, the Lillipup hybrid pets the front flank of his partner pokemon, who licks his cheek affectionately before panting. "Thanks, Yang. Appreciate you a lot." He answers, recalling her as he joins up with the rest of the team.

All of these new faces he really doesn't know!! A whole new adventure to save their world!! The Lillipup hybrid again stays close to the face that's familiar--in this case, hello again Aile!!--and as they enter...well...

"ewwwww." Zwei states, looking disgusted at the Vespiquen. If this is what that bad man was doing to the Pokemon, he had to go down. There was no other option!!

Yang uses Protect quickly around her and her trainer in protection from one of those Discharge attacks, and they move out of range. Arcanine quickly recalled, Zwei sends out his Zorua instead, barking out her command. Salem had other plans, though, and instead of Imprisoning the Magnemite like he asked of her, she used Foul Play on a spike instead!!

To Wes talking about the traps, though....Zwei bounded past him while dodging,heading towards the room on the left. "On your left!!" He howled, letting Salem follow him after her little number.

--

Rhyme....didn't like how all of this felt. She's never felt emotion this heavy since the battle for Black City. That event shook her up pretty badly. And here....here she needed to help her team. When the other was defeated, Rhyme quickly pulled back Gaia into her pokeball, and on second thought withdrew Shibuya. If she'd heard anything from the others about Ein....Joshua stayed at her side, the Treecko continuing to watch the horror that was commencing.

She'd never seen Shadow Mewtwo. This terrified her, how this...how it became....no. She had to stop Ein, they all had to stop Ein! They just...had to!!

Being Purified, Joshua let out a snarl of a sound at the Shadow Rhydon, jumping back. The Pachirisu Hybrid was at the edge of the trap, and heard--

"TRISTEN! Hold on!!" She yells, dropping to all fours. Arkelos' sudden arrival helped her bound from platform to platform like Thundurus taught her, stumbling a bit in the sand as she got close enough to her Elekid friend to, if he could, grab her arm so she could pull him to safety on one of the platforms, unaware of Blizz's travel from above. She had a good grip--she was thankful then for the lesson.

A white glow surrounded Joshua as he noticed his trainer leaping into danger to save a friend. The newly-evolved Grovyle prepares an Energy ball attack soon after and makes his way to the side to provide cover for his Trainer, shooting off the attacks towards that monstrous Shadow Pokemon.

The Jellicent stood there, just hovering without a care in the world as his surroundings started to turn dark, melting into a pot of twisting darkness. Veronica would soon after start to feel her body being magnetically attracted to the Rhydon, although she was still far enough away to keep her stance. Veronica quickly called Spirit back into his pokeball, almost nearly unaffected by the situation as he simply levitated over the earth's movements.

Meanwhile, the Zoroark was in the middle of the whole thing as it was going down. The wave of Shadow energy that the Rhydon would stomp out sent Cosmo flying back and slowing him down in returning to Veronica. The rock became sand and the sand became a flow of foul energy that formed the cone around them. Cosmo was dragged back towards the Rhydon's grasp and he turned Shadow.

Veronica was captivated by the darkness as it grew by the moment. She knew she could act freely but it took a moment to shake her fright away. It wasn't the fear of the darkness but rather how good the darkness felt being in the environment. No doubt it was a side effect of being a dark-ghost type. There was something about it that brought comfort and satisfaction.

Black petals brought a beauty to the otherwise rotten scene. Then a certain power rushed through her and she started to pace forward for a few feet with determination. She sent out her Lucario who had been vaccinated, "Havoc," she called. "Close Combat." She watched the Rhydon, keeping her eyes locked on the monster. While a part of her acknowedged her Zoroark's little problem; she had a priority to choose. Havoc understood what she meant and started to dash foward, rushing through the shadow bits and avoiding the other people and pokemon in order to get to the Rhydon. At least, regardless of what everyone else was doing, would give them some time to get their heads on straight. This Ein should be stopped. Veronica thought. She knew that. She just wished she could understand why the darkness felt so warm. Slowly, she made her way through the rumbles of the earth and the exploding Shadow bits, all while trying to keep her footing away from the energy. Until eventually she was close enough to cause a Night Shade attack on the Rhydon.

Meanwhile, Cosmo found himself filled with the Shadow virus and he thought of how much fun it all was. He wondered why he hadn't thought of this new meaning of fun before. He growled towards Rhyme, Tristen and Arkelos, taking his time with a Nasty Plot, trying to figure out how to best enjoy his meal and what words to say as he slit their throats. They wouldn't have long to react before he would begin to take a crouching pose. He wasn't going to hold back.

Night stared in horror at the grotesque form of the severely mutated Vespiqueen. What had they done to her? A small wave of pity flowed through the Ninetales before a fierce, and highly pissed, snarl ripped itself from her throat as she threw various small fire blasts at random targets, taking very little time to properly aim. She just needed to take out as many of these damn Magnemites as possible so that she might have enough of an opening to put the poor Vespiqueen out of her misery. However, her assault was temporarily halted when movement at the edge of her vision caught her attention. Seeing just what Darts had done to the floor, wicked grin spread across the hybrid's face as she ran towards where Darts stood and positioned herself on the front line before unleashing the strongest Fire Blast she was capable of.

Crystal tilted her head at Darts’ actions, glancing down and Demon Wing’s Pokéball. “Knock knock, indeed.” She’d simply follow the others in, keeping the Charizard’s Pokéball close at hand still.

~~~~~~~~~~~
Aile and Tatooine managed to get out of the range of the Magnetons before they exploded, thankfully, flying back over to where the two had left Sarlaac to discover her entirely new form. “Ah, Sarlaac? Holy crap, I didn’t think... You look good,” Aile finally spoke, deciding to play nice with the now much larger soul eating sandcastle. “You’re going to be a lot harder to sneak into places, now that you're made out of a lot more sand.”
“Palooo.”
“Not saying that’s a bad thing! You’re going to be a heck of an opponent to beat down. Anyways, both of you two are going back into Pokéballs for the moment. No doubt I’ll need you both later.” She recalled both of her Pokémon and followed the others in, looking at the destroyed turrets on her way in. Yeah, this was going to be a fight.
~~~~~~~~~~~

The both of them would be greeted by the Magiqueen, as it were, both looking rather disturbed. "Ah, well then," Aile finally said, blinking, "that's new."

"There's so many things wrong here," Crystal muttered, pulling on her braid. And then the Minimites launched. Crystal, for what it was worth, decided to help boost the strength of Keiko’s Return with a Helping Hand, hoping to help send them off tilt even further.

Aile would look forward at the drill of Minimites, debating on something before finally deciding on a course of action. At least until the actions of Darts and Night, at the very least. With that happening, the woman decided to haul a** over to the left door to help out there.

Lucario was hopping on one Magneton to another as he continued to unleash his storm of Aura Sphere until he felt a different aura coming their way. Ulla noticed this as she looked the way her partner was looking to see Blusix. It didn't take her long to figure out this was the brother that Greesix was talking about. "Don't worry. I'll try my best to get them out." She said as she can only imagine the sort of pain Blusix is feeling. He joined Ein in order to keep his brothers safe. Now look where they were. Ulla would do the same thing if it meant protecting her only brother. She then heard Blizz's voice as he started flying down to where a part of our team was. "Right!" She patted Togekiss's back that she was riding and Mimikyu. "Sorry. Can't have you two down there with that Rhydon." She said as she watched a single Rhydon grew in size as she can tell that the Shadow Virus inside that one. Was a smaller version of Shadow Mewtwo.

"Master. I'm gonna need Lycanroc's assistance with this one." He said as he was breathing a little heavily from fighting that many Mageneton at once. She nodded as she returned Togekiss and Mimikyu as the young child was now free falling from the sky. Lucario followed after her as they were now free falling together. She soon pulled out another Pokeball. "Dusk Lycanroc let's go! Rock Slide!" She shouted as the Lycanroc appeared infront of the two. Lycanroc made focused his energy to his feet as the ground they were about to land on started to soften. Lucario quickly grabbed Ulla as the trio landed softly onto the ground thanks to the Rock Slide. "Master, the Rhydon." "I know. I have it just in case. But I don't know if it will do the same thing as last time." She said as she had her right hand in her pocket. The little girl hand the corrupted Soul Heart in her pocket that was still bubbled thanks to her and Kaya.

Even though it worked a little last time to weaken Shadow Mewtwo, she wasn't sure if it will work again. For now, she had her two purified Pokemon: Lucario and Lycanroc fight. "Lucario ram him with Metal Claw! Lycanroc distract it with Stone Edge!"

~~~~~~~
Meanwhile with Leon and Roserade being whisked away from the trouble, he noticed bursts of Wil O Wisp popping around them. "Roserade return! Shiro let's go!" He shouted as he quickly swapped out his Pokemon. Shiro, his Alolan Vulpix appeared on his shoulder as it barked softly. "I appreciate the scoop Beau. I'll provide us cover. Shiro Ice shard!" He shouted as Shiro started glowing as several shards of ice started circling around them. The sharp shards of ice started pointing outward as it would launch out at any Wil O Wisp and any protection bubbles that were still on their tail.
"That... that could've gone a little better. Thanks for the help, Granite," Amaranth spoke up, relieved when the war against Ein's newest target practice vicinity seemed to come to a close. She could do without another such trip to android hell anytime soon. She'd recall her Carbink and hurry along with the rest of the group, catching up with them and another group that had already managed to barge in... and seeing little reprieve before seeing the massive drill of Magnemite before her. A hard sigh could be heard as she went to get her Pidgeot's ball again, ready to put them through a Heat Wave when Cera- detecting more presences approaching- tackled her out of the way.
Before she could ask what the sudden shove was about, she'd hear a Volcarona's cry and see the very move she'd thought of having Gale do just moments before, in an effort to assist with the various forms the miniature Pokemon had gathered together to form.
"What Wes said. Consider the hive dealt with! Go now, while we can provide cover!" Sol added, with a more-than-slightly-frazzled Xatu next to him while Volcarona kept in front.
"Sure, just one thing first." Cera remarked, before deciding to add to the assault by conjuring a few Aura Spheres and flicking them at each of the clusters of Magnemite, starting with the ones trying to bore through Darts' makeshift shield. "With all due respect, your majesty," she spat at the mutated Vespiquen trying to defend herself, "we kinda prefer not being stabbed, impaled, crushed or anything else you have in mind, so thanks for the hospitality I guess, but no thanks."
She and Amaranth would hurry afterwards, veering towards the right side in an effort to keep the groups even.
It wasn't long before the two would join those that already went down that side, but unfortunately for Ryan and Abby, they would see that the Vespiquen from before wasn't the only such thing to deal with in the tower-turned-fortress. In the room, parts of the floor were in total disrepair- if any of it was still there. Drops of acid or something seemed to have eaten holes into it, much of it quite recent with a few here and there slightly eroded to be a bit smoother. Faint, wet footsteps could be heard as something started to show itself from the door on the other end, sniffing around for intruders. A cursory glance would eventually reveal what looked like a Goodra, totally devoid of color and its eyes seemingly seared shut along with parts of its body as constant, acidic tears streamed from the shut eyes and down the body before finally hitting the ground. It didn't look to have much of a tail either once its body was fully visible, though something else was in its place.
If one didn't know any better, it looked like... a vacuum cleaner? There wouldn't be much time to observe further before it finally caught wind of the approaching Snagems, let out a cry and suddenly propelled itself at Ryan as whatever was used to replace its tail roared to life.
SubonicXP
(Characters involved: Leon, Sub, Freth, Odd, Terashi, and Beau.)
Terashi would swing with great might his Psion Edge conjured blade and with deft aim would slice clean through the wrist just below the hand of the Cofagrigus which threatened to smack him. The now cut off hand would fall to the ground without so much as a sound and instead just 'poofed' into a cloud of black smoke-like substance, disappearing entirely while its former arm flailed around a bit before retreating into the main body cast on the ground like a shadow.
Denied harming Odd as well thanks to Baroque the Cofagrigus didn't see the Infestation coming, the wave of conjured scarabs swarming over its shadow-like body, biting away at it. While not particularly painful the Infestation did prove annoying and denied it any retreat, not that it desired to but the thought of being bound did not sit well with it. Meanwhile Beau and Leon were taking care of its Will-o-Wisp and the last of its Protect bubbles, before it could make more, or rather thanks to the coming Taunt it couldn't make more, a certain Absol decided to poke the embers of its rage. Apparently imploding a house on ghosts was a touchy subject for them.
"Cofaaa!" Wailed the coffin-less Coffin Pokemon as it rose up off the ground and towered over the Snagems, its form like a long stretched out and thin piece of dough as it hung over them and stared at them with hate filled eyes and a gaping toothy maw, its reformed arms and hands stretched out wide. With a sparkle of pink in its eyes the scarabs created by Baroque's Infestation would have a sudden change of heart as they launched off of the Cofagrigus' body, manipulated by its Psychic move. Their little wings would send them through the clouds of Powder which Beau had created around he and Leon, the fake bugs becoming coated in the body before attempting to latch themselves onto Beau, Leon, Red Baron and Shiro. The bugs would latch on and bite but the true purpose was to dissuade any intents to go 'boom'.
With another glimmer of Psychic in its eyes the Cofagrigus would let out a ghostly wail which caused a chilling wind to blow and the hairs or feathers on the Snagems to stand on end, the sands around them wiping around as three miniature cyclones formed in front of the Coffin Pokemon. The 'cyclones' would twist and turn violently before seeming to change shape and become more compact but before the Snagems could witness anything else about them the Cofagrigus would launch from its body cloth-like streams of fabric which would quickly wrap around the cyclones, encapsulating them and giving them proper form, a humanoid one. Now standing in front of the ancient creature were three mummies, completely covered in wrappings, devoid of eyes, mouth, or anything remotely indicating of such things.
Without further warning the mummies attacked, one making a run at Terashi, throwing a punch at him from a distance that seemed too far until the construct's arm stretched out far to clear the instance and put the Psychic Channeler in slugging range. If that missed or was blocked the fist would unravel and the bandages would fly backwards to try and snatch Terashi up in them and wrap him up.
The second mummy would head for Sub and Freth, running at Sub first and then flying at him with a full body tackle, Nevermore was quick to execute a Quash in hopes of using the pressure to smack it down to the ground but alas this thing appeared barely affected by it and managed to tackle Sub to the ground. "Ack! Get off!" Sub shouted, Nevermore taking to the air with a panicked squawked as Sub wrestled with the mummy, the bandages slowly creeping across his body. "Freth, a little hand here!" As if realizing Sub's cry for help the mummy would open a hole on its back and send a fierce sandy gust of Ominous Wind at Absol and Freth, hoping to keep them away long enough to claim its prize.
The third mummy set its sights on Beau and Leon, the mummy jumping and bounding great distances with its spring-like legs, coming down on Beau with an ax kick before sending a long stretched out arm out at Shiro hoping to wrap around the Pokemon and throw it at Red Baron.
While its minions went about their work the Cofagrigus turned its focus on Baroque, or rather what was inside Baroque. "fEeL mY pAiN!" The ghost wailed as it held out its hands and opened its mouth, an unseen force attempting to pull Baroque towards and into its mouth.
(Characters involved: Blizzard, Ulla, Rhyme, Veronica, Wren, Reno, Tristen, and Arkelos.)
The corrupted Shadow Rhydon continued to rampage with its Shadow Pit, some of the erratic Petal Dance hitting it and scratching its body and harming it but not enough to break it out of its rage. It was during this wild and uncoordinated Petal Dance that Reno pounced and jumped onto the back of the Shadow Rhydon, causing its anger to rise increasingly further as its sight was obstructed, and while Reno 'accomplished' what he set out to do he would likely get a few cuts and nicks from the Petal Dance himself.
The Shadow Rhydon would make a go at reaching back and squashing Reno like a bug however that was when Tristen's Weavile came flying at the Shadow Rhydon, assisted by the rock pillars and platforms conjured up by Arkelos and Rockruff to get the Snagems out of the Shadow Pit, and smacked it hard with Punishment, the attack fueled by the very same energy that empowered Shadow Rhydon and thus proved devastating as the beast recoiled and cried out in pain as it took the blow directly, swaying back and almost bucking Reno off of it from the recoil alone. In that moment the Snagems were able to pelt the beast further. An Energy Ball from the newly evolved Grovyle slammed into its chest and clumps of Mud-Slap from Riolu which would splatter onto its eyes if Reno was keen enough to let go in that moment. If that wasn't enough Veronica had cast a Night Shade upon the Shadow Rhydon, a blob of darkness surrounding its head blinding it further, it was in that moment when Veronica's Lucario came flying in with a Close Combat, pummeling at the beast's torso causing to grunt and growl in pain.
Next came Ulla's Lucario and its Metal Claw racking across its hide and a Stone Edge digging into the ground from Lycanroc. Damaged and properly blinded the Shadow Rhydon's rage would just continue to increase in Hyper Mode, the monster completely oblivious to any pain it was suffering at this point. With a monstrous roar it began to charge up an immense and at first it would seem as if it were going to attack but instead something else happened as the energy charged up into its horn before firing off upward as a stream of energy vaguely resembling chains. The 'chain' of shadow energy would shoot up at the descending Blizzard and his Sheer Cold ball he held. The energy chain would divide up into several more began wrapping around and creating a sphere made up of the chains which hovered in place in the air with Blizzard suspended inside of it with his attack, unable to escape as he was now bound by Shadow Hold. He still had his Sheer Cold charged up but what good would it do if he could not escape from this suspended prison?
"Dooon!" The roared again, the Shadow Pit over but now the copious amounts of loose sand now blowing around the area the Snagems found themselves in the form of a fierce and far more painful than usual Sandstorm, the gusts almost like a hurricane and those Pokemon affected by it finding themselves taking increasingly large amounts of damage. Reno was still latched onto his back so if he was going to do something from this vantage point he better do it now before things escalated further than they already have.
Meanwhile, dark voices whispered to the newly Shadowfied Cosmo. It was its own dark thoughts, bubbled to the surface and amplified by the Shadow energy, tempting it to take advantage of the occupied Snagems, particularly that girl pulling the Electrike hybrid named Tristen up to safety and out of the pit, the Pachirisu hybrid named Rhyme, her kindness and care for others was weakness and made her an easy target. Yes, Cosmo would turn its plot on her.
Requiem of Whyspers
(Characters involved: Keiko, Darts, Night, Lykas and Crystal.)
Keiko, empowered by Crystal's Helping Hand, would deliver a decisive blow on the buzzsaw and smack it into the ground with fierce might, causing it to 'shatter' back into the many minimites or magnebees which it was made up of. While most of the miniature Magnemites were knocked out by the attack a smaller portion quickly returned to the mutant Vespiquen's side. The Roar carried out by Sphynx would send the rest of the magnebees to Vespiquen's side, the mini drones caught off guard by the sudden roar but perhaps wouldn't be a second time. Those that lingered though were treated to a devastating and wide scale Pain Split thanks to Lykas, the 'bees' dropping all around him emass.
Thanks to Darts' quick thinking the drill made up of minimites would be delayed from boring through its targets and instead slowly started to work through the sheet of metal, that was until Carbink came forth and summoned forth a Gravity causing the constructed drill and fall to the ground and shatter back into the drones that made it up. The moment they fell was when Night came bounding over Darts and unleashed a powerful Fire Blast which the mutant Vespiquen barely had time to summon up the magnebees which made up the drill, using Defense Order to have them construct a shield to protect her from the Fire Blast, nearly every one of the 'bees' knocked out by the attack and falling to the ground.
After all was done and said the Vespiquen had barely a fourth of her original army of drones buzzing around her and when she gestured for more to come from her hive she would find that none arrived, the nest bound by pink chains of energy which denied any of its occupants to exit. Displeased with these turn of events the Vespiquen would let out a skin crawling metallic buzz screech, her Pressure ability bearing down on the Snagems, filling them with a sense of urgency and panic which for the weaker willed might make them feel helpless but for the others would cause them to expend more energy than necessary.
Upon raising her hand the queen would summon the last of her remaining drones to come together in a loose ball, the Magnemite swarming around and sparking with electricity, the group creating a large Electro Ball together which floated in mid air just above her palm. With a shimmer from her forehead magnet the mutant Vespiquen would use Power Gem to encase the Electro Ball minimite swarm in a sphere of crystalized Rock energy. Holding her prepared ball in one hand the queen would hurl it down at the Snagems which remained, the massive sphere larger than any of the Snagems. If any of them intended to stop it they would have to shatter the Power Gem shield first and even then the drones of the inside had a second layer of Electro Ball to protect them. A discerning eye could see that the attack was not intended to crush nor zap them but instead explode as the mini drones began to glow, all of them intending to Selfdestruct at once to create one massive bomb. Unless someone pulled something really crafty out and soon this was going to turn out really bad.
Deciding to go for a risky play against the mummy whose punch was a poorly masked attempt at binding me to prevent action on my part, I tapped into Rala's recently purified energy to propel myself forward, leaving an energy clone to come into contact with the mummy's fist. I would only be propelled a few feet ahead, but my feet could carry me the rest of the way unless the mummy could trap me without being at the end of his limb. If gone unopposed, I'd reach the mummy's body and swing at it with both arms, a Psion Edge in each hand.
~*~
Keiko would indeed feel the Pressure that the mutated Vespiquen was giving off, causing her Return aura to burn brighter and consume more energy as a result. Panicking, Keiko ran at the Vespiquen. The only plan of action she could come up with was punching it with her Return-empowered fists in the hopes of distracting it enough to either send the Electro Ball her way thus it also harming the Vespiquen - essentially sacrificing herself to save the other Snagems in the vicinity - or it losing enough focus for the Electro Ball to unravel. Not the safest course of action, but she didn't have any better ideas or means of fighting the mutated Pokemon - a consequence of not having any moves that did more for her than enhancing her strength and, in the case of the move she was currently using, her durability.
Ryan would be shocked at the absolute decay in this section of the tower. It was rather disturbing. " And here I thought Ein would keep his place in much better shape, yeah?" the channeler would say to Abby.
Ryan spots what he thinks is a Goodra, but shudders at the sight of it. This was just cruel. But any thought of help went out the window as it launched its self at the young man. Ryan calls out his Brionne, Undine. "Undine! Use Icy Wind!" Ryan orders to his Pokemon. Undine unleashes a freezing wind at the rotten dragon pokemon and Ryan uses his Mermaid Breach in combination with his pokemon, causing a spear of ice to form in the path of the incoming degraded Goodra.
"Absol, just what exactly did I miss here?" Freth asked as she noticed the sudden mood shift out of the ghosts. That really apparently hit home to them.
"Sooool."
Freth and Absol had to get back a bit, trying to avert the ghost Pokemon which apparently...the target wasn't them. It was Sub, and it was a bit much for him. "These ghosts priorities are really skewed..." Freth said observantly. "Whatever. Absol, Bite!" Freth then shouted. The Absol rushed for the Cofagrigus and pounced on it to get it off of the Snagem leader then started to bite down on the ethereal foe.
-------------
Tristen on the other side of the compound had his own issues. As he held on for dear life with the help of Rhyme, watching his Weavile smash the living daylights out of the Shadow Rhydon, followed up by everyone else's bombardment of various attacks, it seemed like everything was going to plan. He just needed to get himself, Weavile, and Rhyme now out from the icy blast zone of his father figure's attack. But little did he realize that it wasn't going to be that simple. The Rhydon retaliated, roaring out and summoning various chain-line tendrils as they went everywhere. Including up above him.
As I continued to descend, I saw the shadowy chains rush up for me. My eyes went wide and quickly dodged out of the way of a few, but it got to the point where I couldn't avoid them all and subsequently got ensnared by the Shadow Hold. "ACK! SON OF A-" Did this thing see me!? "GAH! BLAST IT!" It was getting kind of hard to keep a focus on the Sheer Cold charge and I couldn't really brute force my way out of the bindings.
Tristen was scrambling away, trying to help Rhyme out as well until he took notice to what was going on above. "Blizz..." Tristen didn't know what to do at that point other than trying to pound the Rhydon into submission. The problem was, however, this thing was impervious to pain it seemed like. His experience, it was a war of attrition just to tire it out; the Pokemon pushed itself to well beyond its limits to where its body gave out far beyond its will, which admittedly put the Shadow Pokemon at risk, but there's no helping it once a Pokemon goes into Hyper Mode. It wasn't going to be enough just on raw assault power. He then takes notice to Rhyme's Treeko...with the many hours he studied the Pokedex, a realization occurred to him...first things first however.
"Weavile! Use Assurance!" Tristen shouted. The Weavile danced about the stone platforms, trying to keep the Shadow Rhydon distracted only to attack once again, coming down on the Rhydon to emphasize the damage it already received. As the Weavile done so, Tristne quickly turned back to the Pachirisu Hybrid. "Rhyme, does your Treeko know Endeavor?" Tristen asked her. To him, bringing a massive, hardy Rhydon like that down to the level of a meek Treeko? Made sense to him...
Leslie was absolutely enamored with the hallway that Ryan and Abby had taken her down, what with all the strange stains, burned holes, and strange noises that invariably lead one to the conclusion that something horrifying was waiting at the end of the hallway for them to encounter and invariably be forced into life and death combat against. Although that noise seemed to be more real than Leslie's vivid imagination was making it. Finally deciding to participate in the hallway exploration in something besides being dragged along by static cling, Leslie soon found herself staring down what appeared to be a monstrous Goodra with horrifying acid tears and absolutely no rights being alive and moving towards them threateningly. Well, that wouldn't do at all. Stepping around Ryan, Leslie prepared to charge towards the Dragon type when....a swarm of ice spears appeared between her and the target. Damnit, Ryan.
No matter, she had other things she could do. So naturally she opened a Pokeball and looked towards the Porygon that was now floating beside her with a manic look in her eye. "Alrighty Church, zap'em. Zap'emzap'emzap'emzap'emzap'emzap'em." The extremely energetic hybrid began telling the Pokemon, the small piece of living data looking confused and bewildered for a moment before attempting to draw the logical conclusion from the....unending swarm of words he was receiving. Turning to face towards the Goodra, Church charged and unleashed a Zap Cannon that aimed to blast through the gap in the spears and electrocute the poor Pokemon.
-----
Still clinging to the Rhydon's head as the swarm of attacks flew towards him and his very deadly steed. And doing his best with a little manipulation of the Rhydon's vision, he managed to keep it steered towards the attacks, including making sure Rhydon got a face full of Mud Slap. He even attempted to throw in a few punches, but for the most part he was hoping for Tesei and Reuniclus to do something for him to take advantage of. All he needed was them to do something he could improvise off of and he was sure he could do something to this monstrosity. As he thought this, Reno slid back slightly to allow Tristan's Weavile access for the overhead Assurance attack it was aiming for.
Back with the aforementioned Cloyster and Reuniclus, they would be slowly setting themselves back up on the now solid ground even as the sandstorm raging around them began to ravage their respective bodies. It was that thing's fault and it had to be taken out, but what could even knock it down? The two Pokemon would look at each other before they began discussing a plan between each other, the temperature noticeably dropping above Tesei as the plan was fully laid out. And with that, Tesei formed an Icicle Crash attack, the massive hunk of ice slowly flying through the air to add more assurance to the Assurance attack when...it began to glow pink. And pick up speed. It would appear that Aleister was helping speed up the massive projectile with a Psychic-powered push, turning it into a much more effective deliverer of kinetic force.
Watching as this yoga ball-sized chunk of ice came streaking towards the Rhydon, Reno felt an idea coming to his head. This thing was so dangerous because it could keep marching towards them and moving with no care to the damage. So what would happen if he knocked the lummox over? Rather than debate it out, Reno instead leaped off of the Rhydon's back to in front of the Ground type and latched onto the thing's horn as he fell past the Shadow Pokemon's face. Having the sudden addition of 200 pounds to your nose would knock anything a little off balance. And hopefully having an even heavier ice chunk slam into its head while this imbalance was occurring would send the behemoth plummeting towards the ground. Even if it didn't, it sure as hell was going to hurt and distract the thing.
----
Beau would only be able to grumble and stare at the bugs slowly biting him and Leon, unable to do much of anything to remove the bugs due to all of the Powder coating the creations. So he forced to simply remain still and do his best to avoid bothering the things. Which is when a strange mummy creature came crashing down onto his head and attempted to throw a Pokemon at Red Baron. So yeah. Time to do some stuff. Thankfully the impact had dislodged a lot of the Infestation bugs and kicked them into the air around the mummy. And with that, Beau had a terrible idea. He had a terrible, wonderful idea. Quickly spinning into the movements for a Quiver Dance, Beau made sure to add a lot of flourishes with his wings to send small gusts towards the false bugs and force them to attach to the mummy. And once he had enough on the thing, Beau would finish his movements in front of Leon and kick the younger Snagem away from the plan. "Red Baron, fire!" Beau shouted, the Fletchinder firing out a quick Ember towards the mummy before engaging in his own acrobatics to dislodge his bugs and hopefully dodge the incoming Shiro if he was caught. And with that, Beau would only stare at the mummy with a grin before all of the Powder still in the area ignited and gave the construct one hell of a rude awakening.
