A sudden sense of having forgotten something struck the pair as they ducked and dodged the 'thread'. Maybe it was because they normally would flame thread, and not just dodge, and this felt so very odd? Who was to say—though in their anxiousness the pair took another glancing hit, streaks of dye left in thin patches along a limb.

Despite the colors now staining Pellereth's hide, there was the briefest sense of comfort that they weren't doing.. too too bad. The crown of color around Pellereth's headknobs still frightened I'lin, but at least it was only paint.. This time.

A gust rose up, sending a clump back up at them that wrapped around I'lin's leg, staining blue into the riding straps.

The sense of having forgotten something was pervasive, and once more they took a glancing blow while their thoughts were racing along other tracks. Oh Faranth, what an embarrassment!

The growing irritation at just how itchy the dye stains were on Pellereth's hide wasn't eased much by I'lin's calmer thoughts. He'd scrub the bronze down well after drills were said and done, but it did little to ease his irritation. A sharp updraft seemed to want to stoke the fires, sending a clump hurtling up into the wide wingsails and staining it a deep red. Shaffit.

Aha! They were nearly done, but they would end on a high note! With a blink the pair leapt between to duck a green dyed batch... only to emerge into an entirely other clump, leaving them dripping dye all down one side as they 'limped' back to the ground, color-splattered and moping.

With an irritated snarl, Pellereth dove to avoid another collision, eyes flaring brightly that was only metered by the fact that they would be done soon. But the clump that smacked into them, making a lovely squelch noise, only made the bronze huff, shaking the dyed rope away from his arm.

Dodging rope was still serious business, and Zezo took it as such, the tiny green leaping into action and smartly ducking between away from a similarly green clump... only to crash into another patch upon reentry, the little dragon giving a sharp creel, much as she would if she'd been struck by thread itself.

She was trying, she was trying so hard. But that didn't change that even as nimble as she was, a tangle of the dyed ropes splatted off her head and neck, leaving her whining (if unharmed) and feeling less than proud.

Roll #4: 5. You were thinking about your crush. You know you have to stay focused, you know you have to be on your game but it isn't as if this drill is REAL thread. You can't help it. It just happened. But during that moments distraction, that second daydream, you missed the thread falling too far back for your dragon to see. Both of you get hit on the back and your dragon's tail. Oops. (+3)
Total Score: 3+1+2+3=9

It was completely innocent. Without the threat of pain or death it was easy for Veltanna's mind to wander. And the only harm was a potential scowl from the assistants, right? Moirath giggled some more as Veltanna tried to defend her wandering mind to herself.

Roll #5: 8. The 8 is a lie. D: But for real, you get scored. Seriously. You get scored so bad your dragon gets grumpy and you are less than pleased since Cheri is a jerk and has stained both of you. (+3)

Pouting, Moirath rolled over as they ran into yarn they had avoided. Wind is a pain.

This is good practice, Martirae told Anakumath privately. There was only good to come from a little extra work in a field that both rider and dragon knew was desperately needed. There were enough marks on Anakumath's hide to attest to that, even if they'd done better since. She should have never been marked at all. Martirae blamed herself for it.

A windy day made for all sorts of unexpected splatters, however, and it felt all too soon before they were hit, leaving a beautiful red mark on the gold's wing.

Was it a weight thing? They were easily one of the largest dragons in the sky for this, even if by gold standards they were small. Was it because Anakumath's wings were larger and caught the wind a bit easier? Martirae frowned, trying to figure out how she would accommodate for this in real time going forward.

Everybody is marked, but I don't like it, she informed Anakumath privately. She knew in all practicality they shouldn't be hit this much in actual Threadfall, but it was still frustrating.
