Lusialu Lusialu was grateful to be standing with Oranie, and smiled at the thought. "No matter what happens," she promised, looping her arm a bit shyly with her own. She knew they might well need to separate, but right now, it was an act of solidarity. They weren't alone, no matter how it might feel. She would be with her, come what may.
"Oh look, three dragonets already!" That two were bronzes was noted, but she did her best not to hitch her breath in alarm. Everything would be okay. They didn't look aggressive or angry, at least, and she could only hope that would remain the case. She did her best not to think of Cadereth or Hybreoth, and instead, focused on the blue. "A blue! Maybe he's meant to be yours so you can match Elibrie?" She mused with a smile.
She hoped him pouncing the other wouldn't cause trouble.
She wasn't sure how right it was, but she did send Kesucianth a wave of happiness and some grateful thoughts. Even if she didn't have her own dragon, she did know so many wonderful people with them. Luckier still, some of them were exceptionally kind to her--far kinder than they needed to be.
Melka "I wouldn't mind being chaste if it meant Impressing," she confessed with a smile. Perhaps it wasn't the most appropriate conversation to be having at a Hatching, but her thoughts were happy, and pleasant--and when wasn't Melka a gossip?
Things started happening quickly, with a bronze hatching first, and Melka's attention was immediately drawn. "That's a good sign, that is!" She mused, eyes bright as she admired the dragon. Mictecath's clutch looked healthy and lively, and though she could never Impress a bronze, she could admire. "Wonder which one of our fine Candidates he'll choose?" A blue was next to follow, and one that immediately pounced. "What a playful darling!" And then, lo and behold, yet a another bronze appeared. "And another metallic doll. A very auspicious sign, I'm sure. Hello, cutie!"
Still, the girls were what interested her most. Surely, there had to be some cutie-pies in the eggs that wished to come out.
Razanel Another Hatching, and Razanel couldn't keep the eager smile off his features. No matter what the outcome was, he was eager to meet them all, face-to-face. He wasn't worried about maiming or getting killed--perhaps it was hubris, but he was confident he knew all the right steps, and all the right thoughts to keep himself from harm. Even if there wasn't a dragonet in the eggs for him, there would be a great party to enjoy afterwards--and Razanel did rather love a good party.
A bronze hatched first, followed by a blue, and a second bronze. "A trio already. At this rate, we'll be feasting in less than an hour," He mused aloud. That he'd moved a bit closer to the blonde Nisadee wasn't surprising. He was a sociable fellow when it came down to it, and she was quite familiar to him. She might have been a bit of an independent spirit, but there was no reason they couldn't enjoy the Hatching together.
"That blue looks like a handful." In all the best ways, of course.
Meepfur Well, since they're Sandfam neighbors... No other reason, surely.
Nedemar Another Hatching, and Nedemar was ready. The young man entered the Sands with his head held high. He didn't bother to look to see if he could locate his Father and sister, Madanee -- he was lucky they took the tame to watch him each Hatching, and grateful for the support -- but he knew his duty, and it was to Mictecath, Iweth, and their eggs. (Not to mention, finding them would be like a needle-in-a-haystack!)
He bowed low to the metallic pair, before finding a place among the Sands and watching the eggs intently. This was his time. He knew it was his time. It had to be his time. No matter that he felt that way every time a Hatching took place. He didn't allow himself room to consider the possibility that he wouldn't Impress until he aged out. He still had two Turns left--perfection took time, after all, and he was determined to be the first rider in his family! This was his day, his moment, his path. Let his sister have the Hold and title--he would be a dragon rider, with his own friends, his own people, and his own style.
Not one, but two, bronzes hatched, along with a blue. That there were three dragonets to admire was a good sign--and the fact that a bronze had been the first to Hatch even better. Even he knew how auspicious a sign that was for a Weyr. What gems, what beauties, what darlings... Or so he kept thinking. They were each welcome and wanted, and if they desired a closer look, he would be ready.
Quote: Open for Sand Fam! He's competitive by nature -- but also has been around awhile so should know some folks!!
SilverLutz Neener, neener, be jealous, sister. Little brother has his cool Dragonrider Life with cool Dragonrider friends now.
Izaryel His first Hatching, and Izaryel was absolutely flabbergasted by the turn out. The humming had been a surprise, and the chaos of cleaning, scrubbing, and hurrying into a white robed tunic. While they had been marched onto the Sands in two separate lines, after bowing to the great Mictecath and her bronze beau, Iweth, he had immediately set to searching out his twin.
Iz'el was there somewhere among the crowd, and he hoped his mother as well. Though he tried to steal a peek at the tiers, there were so many faces it was hard to tell where they might be. And what of Tyara? Hurrying to her side, he reached out just a moment to touch her arm, so she knew he was there. "This is it, isn't it? Don't worry about what might happen. I'll keep you safe!" He spoke softly, knowing how tender Tyara often was.
That he was told off a few times by F'dral for hovering around his sister was a sore spot -- but now that the Hatching was here, he didn't care. Others had paired up, or turned into small groups--surely, they couldn't begrudge him time with his sister.
"Oh look!" He gasped, when the first dragon hatched. It was a bronze, and honestly, Izaryel hardly knew what to expect. Not only was the dragon larger than he expected for being a baby, he was also...well... awkward looking. With a blue dragon to follow, and another bronze, Izaryel couldn't help but realize that newborn hatchlings were kind of.... ugly.
It wasn't a judgment, but they had bulbously large eyes, surprisingly thing necks, bony and gangly limbs, and were covered in some sort of egg goo. He was both fascinated and surprised--that he'd perhaps imagined them Hatching more like a miniature version of their full-grown kin was only dawning on him now that they were face-to-face.
Quickly though, he tried hard to focus on the fact that they were there, and alive. Welcoming thoughts, welcoming thoughts. This was welcoming, wasn't it? "Look at the pretty blue one," he pointed out to Tyara. It must have been some sort of game, for it didn't appear threatening, did it? They were, after all, family, weren't they?

Tyara
Tyara noticed as the first baby to move, cracked out to be what was clearly a baby bronze. He wouldn't pick her, but he was certainly would make one of the boys very happy. Maybe even her own twin, he certainly was handsome enough to ride a bronze in her book. Then another one of the eggs she had touched began to rock, but seemed little sunbeam egg wasn't quite ready yet. Then cloudy skies began to rock as well, but seemed to be having a bit of trouble. Her eyes caught movement near the back of the clutch and she tried to squint, to see what color it was. It was soon revealed when it pounced his bronze brother, oh, a little blue. She knew blues could pick girls, but again, thought it was for someone else. However, she did allow herself to admire the hopefully playful little blue anyway. Oh, and green vine was also beginning to wiggle a little, but that was all. It had been another one of the ones she had touched. Then a second bronze appeared out of the cloudy skies egg, seeming small compared to his shell. He even greeted them, so sweet.
"Two bronzes already, that has to be good for the weyr. And the little blue is adorable. And that bronze is greeted us, I would think that isn't normal though, based on the other two...maybe. Do you think one of them are your's?"she responded, having felt Izaryel join her. She took his arm gently, knowing her brother would keep her safe. He had since they were little, even more so with all that life had thrown at their family. She figured with people forming groups, they could actually be with one another for this. She felt a gentle wave of love from the stands, knowing it was I'zel and Mihrath wishing them well. She also noticed a few close by, which she nudged her brother hoping maybe he could invite them over. She figured it would allow both of them to socialize (even if Izaryel was more social than she was) more. She just didn't want to bother their fellow candidates, if they didn't want to be bothered..but her twin could ask..right? Her attention stayed on the dragons though, thinking how precious each one was...even if they weren't exactly what she or her twin had expected them to look like.

ISHA
Isha moved through all the motions as they should, quiet as usual, and slipped out onto the sands in a group of one. She hadn't really made any friends since coming back and therefore didn't really have anyone to stand with; it suited her fine, since the dragonets would likely herd them all into a cluster eventually. She'd read as much as she'd been allowed on the hatchings after all, since history was kind of her thing. Perhaps one day she'd be allowed to record it?
Hmm, probably not. That thing was mostly left to the Headwoman and Weyrwomen, right? Isha was decidedly not going to be either one of those, probably, so her dream of recording history for the Weyr that was probably would never happen. Maybe there could be another way, but meh - she'd think on that after this was done.
Three eggs had already hatched by the time she became aware of what was out and about - two bronzes and a blue - and so she just sort of....cheered them on. Bronzes were for boys only, and her chance was there with a blue but again....meh. She hoped with a bronze at the start this hatching would have wonderful luck, as superstition always said a Metallic hide was best to star this off.
Again though, whatever happened happened. It would make for a good memory and something to write down - oh, maybe she could make a fancy page for it? That was a bit exciting - come on babies, go for it! Make some history!

Spotted Green blue was quite pleased that his sneak-attack was successful, and even as Aubergine bronze henk'd at him, he was considering what to do with the tail now in his claws. It would be deeply satisfying to bite, but....what was that? He turned his head towards the Candidates, eyes swirling orange-red as they narrowed. Well, change of plans then.
He gave Aubergine's tail a good yank - never verbally responding to him, and completely ignoring Cloudy Skies outright - and with no further ado, set off towards Tyara and Izaryel to look upon the latter with a critical eye. Handsome enough for a bronze, is it?, he snorted, letting them and any near in on his thoughts, which dripped with judgement about a certain assumption that displeased him. Which I suppose means he's too handsome for a blue like me - and you too pretty, naturally, seeing as you're twins.

Jaleeri It didn't take long for the space around Jaleeri to fill up. First came Hunthyex with whom she'd chatted not long ago and, despite being a bit surprised that he'd stood by her, was delighted that he had. She gave a grin at his rather ominous way of announcing his presence, his gaze locked on the eggs that were rocking and cracking already.
"Yup. Just a bit longer and we'll either be weyrlings, still Candidates, or dead." She gave a little laugh as a few others approached, making the once open area quite full. Eliaza was next to approach and just as she spoke a goopy bronze spilled from what was formerly the Aubergine Egg.
"Looks like he's ready too!" she said, nodding towards the male as he pulled himself from his shell. She was too focused on the first dragon to emerge to notice when Green Spotted Egg split open, only spotting the blue as he pounced on his brother's tail. She gave a little laugh of delight as another egg - Cloudy Skies this time - produced a small bronze who greeted the Candidates cheerfully.
Heleste popped up soon after, her excitement infectious. If Jaleeri wasn't already brimming with it herself she surely would have started to do so.
"I think this is only the beginning," she returned as she watched the blue pause in his game to go stare down a few other Candidates. His eyes didn't look too pleased and she wondered what had happened to cause him to be so upset.
---
Rayarner
Just as he arrived eggshells started splitting. A bronze...another bronze...a blue! Rayarner gave a little wave to Cloudy Skies Bronze who had said hello, a warm smile on his face as he did so. Other eggs were starting to rock and crack as well, flashes of movement here and there, but so far it was just the boys out on the sand.
---
Faelear
The auspicious hatching of a bronze wasn't lost on Faelear and he couldn't help the little smile that turned his lips up as he watched the little male sort himself out. Did he expect anything else from Mic's clutch? Of course not. He knew she'd be the mother to many a wonderful dragon and Aubergine's appearance confirmed that. A flash of blue made him glance to the side and he watched as Spotted Green blue dashed forward, pouncing on Aubergine's tail. And then another bronze was on the sands, this one small despite the size of his shell.
"Hello," he returned softly, not wanting to be rude to a dragon that had so happily greeted everyone. Other eggs were rocking and shaking and cracking- oh, but wait...
Cloudy Skies bronze didn't look so happy anymore. He wasn't sure why, but Faelear hoped it was nothing any of the Candidates had done. That wouldn't be a good way to start!
He gave a little wave at the bronze as he looked towards the Candidates, hopeful that might cheer him up a little.
---
Madanee
Although her brother couldn't possibly see her or their father in the stands, Madanee could see Nedemar clearly. He looked eager and ready to go, as he should, and as the dragons started to hatch she leaned forward a bit. The first egg held a shining bronze, the second a blue, the third another bronze...well. The odds were certainly in Nedemar's favor. She honestly didn't care what color he Impressed though she was sure she'd never hear the end of it if a bronze chose him, but that would definitely keep him at High Reaches for...important bronze things, probably. So yes, let one Impress him. Keep him here out of her hair.
