Yes, it is screaming miserable hell on this end of internet-y things. It's really frustrating, I think it's in the phone line, but it's intermittent. Somedays, it's awful. I've even heard someone talking when my modem turns its speaker on when dialing.
eek It's garbled enough that you can't make out what is being said, but you can tell someone is talking, and no, there aren't any phones on this line. Other days, it works fine. I get right on and have no problems.
sweatdrop The phone company has been out, but the guy there said he couldn't find anything wrong with the line.
stare Hell, just last week, I couldn't even call my ISP. I have to dial an area code to call them. It's not long distance or anything, they're just in another area code. Anyway, as soon as my modem dialed the first 7 digits, it would get this message saying that the number was out of service or disconnected. No one around here could dial over to that area code.
gonk They fixed it after I went to work. Holy crap this is a long post.
