I'd have to say Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand. I love long books with compelling plots and likable characters. Books that make interesting points earn bonus points with me. So, Atlas Shrugged wins.

Everything happens for a reason, but finding that reason... Sometimes when I'm riding through town, I look through the window at the many people walking down the streets and wonder how all of them have their own different stories. My all time favorite: Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer. 3nodding And somehow all those Lives, all those Stories, are all connected in this world. They all affect each other in some way, indirectly, directly. ...is no easy task.

Inkheart by Cornelia Funke. I can practically quote the first chapter.. due to always going back to the book but never finishing it and starting over.

I don't have a favourite. I haven't found it yet.
But I loved 'This Is All: The Pillow Book of Cordelia Kenn', by Aidan Chambers, it was amazing. It was a real growing-up, coming-of-age book, I learned a lot about life, it was very much worth reading. I cried at the end. XD
Bloodletting and Miraculous Cures by Vincent Lam was incredible. It's very medical-y, about doctors around the time of the SARS pandemic in Toronto. It made me want to be a doctor XD
Feed by M.T. Anderson was just... incredible. It should be required reading. For everyone, anyone, anywhere.

My favorite fiction book of all-time is Light House by William Monahan. He wrote the script for The Departed. The book is very clever and very literary, and sort of challenging to read if you don't get the jokes.
My favorite non-fiction book is The Hot Zone because who doesn't love Ebola?
