๑๑๑๑Singed on the edges and a bit tired, Hideo slid into a booth to check off a couple rolls of sushi from a piece of paper on the desk. Getting up to hand it to one of the attendants, the boy returned his his booth to wait for his food. As he waited his mind wandered. Karuto was fast, almost abnormally so for a genin. The sheer amount of rigorous physical training one had to go through to get to that level of speed and reflexive capability was astonishing. The more he thought on it, the more Hideo wished he'd kept his distance. "It was foolish to get as close as I did," he thought to himself as his food was placed in front of him.
The boy seemed absent minded, lost in thought as only his hunger forced his right hand to begin picking pieces and popping them in his mouth one at a time. "If I had not hesitated, I could have attempted to blindside him from a distance before even attempting to move in that close." As he continued to eat, he had brief flashbacks of being held up in that grip. "He was so strong, his frame did not betray his strength in the least.
He'd learned a lesson about hesitation rather quickly, and just as well didn't intend on doing so again. This time it was a friendly spar, however next time it could be his life on the line. Groaning a bit to himself, he slumped slightly into the booth chair. He had a plan for that sort of situation on the field with ninjutsu involved, however he needed a contingency plan in the event that was for some reason unavailable to him. It was something he'd have to continue to train for.

The young Hyuuga, deep in thought, failed to notice Karuto walk past his booth to order. Walking back with his arms literally full of trays of food, Karuto noticed Hideo sitting alone in a booth and approached him. After greeting the kid, Karuto sat down opposite him and slid to the center of the booth. He laid all his food out, it taking almost three fourths of the entirety of the table. Smiling with a sheepish grin on his face, he spoke between taking bites of his food "Ya know, that was a really good fight" Picking up a slab of pork, Karuto began to tear into it "I mean, your Taijutsu is solid just needs a little..." Brining his finger back, he flicked the wooden table between them. The resulting thud was significant enough to make the plates on the table jump up a noticeable amount "...oomph. But then again you got Ninjutsu I've never even imagined I'm sure" He was friendly enough. Karuto never being the type to take all that much seriously was way more focused on the mash potatoes in front of him than the boy sitting across from him's potential uncomfortability with the uninvited Raiken's commentary.
๑๑๑๑The boy almost jumped out of his booth as plates and bowls clattered onto the table, some broth sloshing onto the wood and the uneven table rocking back and forth slightly before settling, for a time at least. Gazing up his eyes fell on none other than Karuto, already eating before Hideo could greet him back. Picking up another piece of sushi gingerly before proceeding to eat and chew on it Hideo listened to Karuto speak through hurried bites. He wondered if he was truly chewing everything he was putting down so quickly. Then with a flick the table was sent rocking again, this time at a more extreme tilt.
As circular bowls began to rotate and the flatware clattered, Hideo grabbed the table to bring it to settle. And as the other genin finished speaking, Hideo shrugged a bit. "I've got some neat tricks here and there. I hesitated earlier, and what's worse is initially I made a poor call. I'm trying to learn how to deal with the pressure of feeling overwhelmed on the field, and I guess training for it and actually applying are two different things."
Taking a sip of water as he glanced at all the plates surrounding his one rectangular platter, he looked back up at Karuto. "It might have been your last week or so in the academy before the graduation test, but a couple weeks ago when the Ichibi attacked I was on the field. I'd never dealt with such a gap in power in my life. It took more than a third of the village's shinobi force just to subdue it. I guess I don't want to feel that incapable of protecting myself much less the village again." The words settled as Hideo fell silent for a moment, before a smirk rose across his face. He wasn't one for sulking for very long, at least after he'd gotten what he was thinking about off of his chest. "Next time I'll try to get you to break a sweat."
As he spoke, Hideo caught sight of a small crowd forming outside with picket signs. It had been happening frequently since the attack. The shinobi force had been spread thin with repairs, and so there weren't enough of them around to take on missions for civilians. The boy wondered how some could be so selfish considering how many didn't make it to see another day time and time again. Sometimes from where they stood the job seemed almost thankless.

It seemed Hideo's biggest problem was his self confidence. Setting down his steak knife, he propped his elbow up on the table and leaned his cheek on his palm "You'll get there man, don't sweat it" When Hideo went on to talk about the Ichibi attack, Karuto nodded. He was there for it, although wasn't allowed to participate. The Demon was on another level than the two of them, but it was his hope to become strong enough to stop the next attack in it's tracks. Suna needed a hero, and he was here to fill the role. "At least you got to see it! I would have loved to help..."
Before he could grumble anymore a brick went through the glass window at the front of the store. Karuto, quick as ever, leaped up from the booth in response. He looked to Hideo and pointed to the angry, assembled crowd outside. It seemed they were mad about the recent Demon attacks and the Shinobi's inability to stop further casualties "Rioting! Hideo, subdued the leaders, I'll protect and evacuate the civilians!" Without a moment to lose, Karuto sprung into action, evacuating all the patrons of the tea shop out the back door 1/5

๑๑๑๑With a shrug and a nod towards Karuto, the young Hyuga finished his meal and began to finish the water he had on the table as the other genin continued to speak. Clearing his throat, he grinned a bit. "I'll admit it was pretty cool looking. Saw some pretty neat stuff from other shinobi too." Thinking on it, he wondered where all those shinobi were and what they had been up to since the attack. As he pondered however, the sound of brick breaking through glass quite literally shattered his frame of thought as Karuto leapt to action. It seemed he got his chance to help faster than expected. Nodding towards Karuto, Hideo flashed through a quick set of seals as mist began to fill the street at a rapid rate. Holding a single seal quickly, his eyes activated again allowing him to see through it all as he unsheathed his katana. If the crowd saw his face they'd likely come after him at one point or another come a few days later. It was best they didn't know there were shinobi at the store for now. Slicing and whacking away incoming bricks was easy enough in the mist. Everyone's aim took a disadvantage in it, and some having had an inkling the mist was not simply from the usual phenomena of the desert cooling at dusk fled the area. However as this happened, two men in particular seemed to bark some orders, one of them telling everyone not to back down. They seemed hell bent on showing that they too could cause some damage. "If I can take them out, the rest will follow suit. I need to get to their supplies first." Taking the moment while there was a lot of chatter to move, Hideo grabbed two large sacks filled with bricks and disappeared down a side street. No one had seen him, however a couple men swore they heard something. And as they looked down to realize their supplies were gone, the knew there was a shinobi among them somewhere. Riot 3/5
One of the two men who seemed to rally the rest called out that he was going to grab more supplies, however Hideo couldn't have that. Sheathing his katana, his voice seemed to echo in the mist from all sides confusing everyone as he muttered, "Take one more step and it'll be the last one you take tonight." The man cackled at the youthful voice, remarking a boy couldn't possibly stop him let alone the rest of them. Taking a step towards one of the construction sites nearby proved to be a poor choice as he felt an open palm thrust into his sternum. As it did a wave of chakra rocketed through him and across his body, shutting his system down and paralyzing him in that instant. There was a groan he emitted before his body folded onto the dirt path, the rest of the men shuffling into a circular formation in fear, their second leader in the middle surrounded. Riot 4/5
Hurling a brick in Hideo's direction, the boy caught it in his right hand as he moved into the alley and over the group, one of the men breaking rank to turn tail and run after he remarked the brick never fell. From above, Hideo jumped and threw the brick down onto the man who had surrounded himself with allies, breaking his nose and likely loosening some of his teeth as blood poured down his face. "Dissolve this riot party and no one else gets hurt." That was all it took as the rest of the men fled, the second man passing out from the suddon drop in blood pressure as the substance spewed from his nose as well as face and ears. Hideo hoped Karuto had gotten everyone out of there in time. Riot 5/5

It was easy enough to get the patrons out the back of the Cafe, the rioters hadn't made their way in yet and Hideo was sure to keep them out from the front door. As he got into the alleyway he set an down the older male he was escorting and took off down the alleyway back into the street "You guys don't move, I'll be back!" He called out as he ran. He appeared in the street and was surrounded by chaos. People were looting as well as rioting. The more opportunistic of the rabble obviously decided to try to get some free goodies while authorities were more concerned with the riot at large; they were hoping their crime would go unnoticed. Nope. 2/5
Karuto's giant hand siezed a baseball bat mid-swing, before it could come down on the cash register of a street vendor. "Leave. One warning" The vandal, in response, reared back his free hand and punched Karuto in the face. Taking the blow without flinching, the Raiken scowled at the man "Wrong move." Grabbing the man by the collar of his shirt he threw him into a nearby dumpster, denting the metal with the guy's body. He moved quickly, knocking out the half dozen other looters before moving down the street and into the wall of mist Hideo had created 3/5
He was a blur of motion. Anyone who held a weapon got a swift chop to the back of the head. At one point a brick was thrown at him. He grabbed the projectile out of the air and ground the brick to dust in his hand, splitting it into multiple pieces. At every opportunity he escorted victimized civilians back to the same alleyway he had brought the initial group, and as it grew so did his sense of relief. Looking around, he would find a long piece of chain in the alleyway. The owner explained that he used it to lock up at the end of the night "Hope you don't mind I use this" 4/5
Hideo, having taken care of the leaders, stood over the body of the second leader. Karuto approached him from behind, dragging the limp body of the first by his wrist. "That was...interesting" He took the two leaders and chained them together around the waist, and then chained the pair to a street pole. As he did that, the old man who owned the tea shop came behind him. "Thank you fellas. These punks are getting out of hand these days! Why, between the thieves and now these yahoo's, I don't know how I'm gonna manage much longer" This bit piqued Karuto's interest "Thieves? In the streets?" The old man nodded and Karuto turned to Hideo "What'cha say, wanna make this a two-parter?"
๑๑๑๑Holding a seal to dispel the chakra laden mist, Hideo found Karuto dragging the first man he'd taken down and tying the pair together. Nodding towards him he muttered with a smirk, "You can say that again. Remind me never to let you grab my hand again," as his head nodded towards the pile of pebbles and red dust that was once a full brick. Others may not have been able to see it, but Hideo did. He was liking this guy more and more already. Before he got a response however, the shopkeeper chimed in with more issues.
Looking from the man to Karuto who chimed in his smirk widened into a grin. "Oh yeah, we can definitely take care of that issue for you. Anything else about the them?" The man mentioned during the rioting some people were taking advantage of the chaos and tagging windows and prominent shops with graffiti, perhaps something they could look into at some point. Nodding the Hyuga turned his blank irises and bulging veins towards Karuto. "Let's deal with the thieves first. It'll take any graffiti artist time to get supplies get to a prime spot and tag something worthwhile, if we even manage to deal with this in time. Let's get a move on, I'd hate to miss out on all the fun these people seem to be having.."

Another one! Huzzah. As he has been searching this new area for ten or so minutes, he was surprised to find a pumpkin in an alley. The damn things were so creepy. He put his foot through the grinning things face. Satisfied, he took off. He was still upset he was no closer to finding the source than he was when he began, but at least he was helping!
October 31 #12? - 7 Pumpkins {via rolls: 10, 6, 10, 8, 8, 7,8} Her last search in the shops was a bust. The tea shop Sadayo finally paid a visit to may bring about better results. Sadayo only had a few stops left for squash searching. Flop! Sadayo even tripped over her own shoes upon leaving the tea shop. She looked surprised. That doesn't happen a lot.

In the scheme of it all, Sadayo oddly felt as if she was going in circles. She felt empty too, like she muddled up somewhere along the way as she passed over her unusual feelings about the pumpkins. Those vibes were pushed aside and in her gut something told her to stop and mentally retrace her steps. Sadayo returned to the tea shop to possibly indulge in a hot drink. She rubbed her face.

A speckle of red may have crossed Sadayo’s gaze, like a swimmer noticing the fin of a shark. It was subtle, however, as the small figure worked its way to the rooftop of the tea shop Sadayo stood outside of. A microwave was dragged along to the top of the roof. The girl may notice it if she had heightened senses, but otherwise she may get caught off by the falling equipment. It was aimed to fall on her head as the villain ran away back into the tea shop.
After having rubbed her eyes, the girl blinked her eyes, her head was lowered to stare at the ground. Yeah, Sadayo was just tired from all this pumpkin hunting. She lifted her head, unaware of the small figure lurking, and reached upward to stretch. The sky was a lulling shade of blue and perhaps the most pleasant thing to stare at.
Her head arched back enough to see the edge of the shop's roof and then eyed an oddly placed, half of a rectangle, set over the roof. It wasn't there when she arrived, was it? Sadayo, with her neck still arched back to stare at the object, stepped out into the street. What was up there? A box? A glint of the sun's reflection came off the door of the microwave. "Wha...? She squinted her eyes upon further inspection of the mircrowave and looked back into the tea shop. "Uhm... a misplaced appliance... on the roof?" Her concern would go unheard. The only thought to come into her head to reason this sighting was that the tea shop's microwave must have just been misplaced but there had to be more to this. Maybe a fuss between co-workers and a prank poorly conducted? "I guess... I guess I'll grab it for them. Sadayo reached into her bag and pulled out the red scroll, opened it, and attached her strings to the hulking samurai puppet as it appeared in a puff of smoke. The distance between the roof and the ground was definitely greater than 6' feet and if anything, without pulling out a second puppet, Sadayo leaps up to the roof to nudge the microwave off the roof herself. The plan was to push the heavy appliance into Nirami's open arms which were held upwards in wait.
