Alright, so... minor edit I added in: the diamonds castle set piece now also includes an entryway. The reason? While in the shower, I further thought out how I wanted to start the scene and realized that the first room when entering the castle being the dining room didn't make a whole lot of sense. Granted, Wonderland is -supposed- to be full of nonsense, but we're not outright suspending -all- believability here talk2hand

Not only do I got a few mixed characters myself, I'm mixed in real life too emotion_awesome

On another note: I uh... I've gotten super behind on the conversion for chapter 8. And by that I mean I basically haven't been working on it at all emotion_facepalm Again, part of it is the spouse working from home and calling off, and then the other part was me not wanting to hold up the next chapter because of it which then in turn just led to me -only- working on the new scene and the behind the scenes stuff without doing the conversion when I meant to work on the conversion while there was a lull in posts emotion_facepalm

So yeah... plan is to try to -actually- focus on that this week.

So... not project related, but sometimes you just gotta talk about your weird dreams. And while I'm a firm believer that dreams often {but not always} don't mean anything, this one somehow felt like it had a bunch of symbolism in it that I wasn't getting...

Earliest in the dream I can remember {I get the feeling the dream was longer than this but I can't remember all of it}, I was sitting on top of a dark kitchen table, like a dark cherry wood. Super sturdy, but also noticeably old and had probably been refinished at least once. I was, or so I thought at the time, alone in the house and under the impression that this was to be mine and the spouse's house, including all the furniture, but we didn't quite own it yet for whatever reason and were kind of house sitting I guess?

Anyhow, as I was sitting on the kitchen table, I was thinking about how much the spouse would probably hate the table and want to get rid of it, but hate the fact I was on it anyway because it was "unsanitary" to sit where you eat. I started to consider blowing my load on it just to further spite the spouse, but then I noticed movement outside the patio window and there appeared to be a little blonde girl in an adjacent part of the house. Somehow, the fact I was supposed to be home alone and had no idea who this little girl was didn't faze me at this time. At first I thought that I could just close the blinds, but instead I decided to get off the table and watch tv.

I don't remember what I was watching, but it was something I had seen a bunch of times over. Think it was a comedy of some sort. Potentially "Back to the Future", but I don't really know. But it was on an old tube television, not a modern flat screen, and I was still in the general kitchen/dining room area, still sitting at the table.

Eventually, the little girl comes in looking scared out of her mind and holding a scrap of paper. She doesn't really acknowledge my presence or seem put off by it in any way and just goes straight for the cordless land line telephone. I don't want to make her feel any more uncomfortable, so I just turn my back to her and sit closer to the tv, focusing on whatever it was I was watching. However, for some reason, this land line telephone is having a hard time getting a signal, but being a dream, this again didn't seem odd to me. The only way she could get it to connect was to stand on top of the kitchen table. I turned the ceiling fan that was over the table off for her and she made her call which seemed to be to the police. She was trying to report that she had more information to give on her stalker, but became distraught when she went to read off the scrap of paper she was holding as it was blank. The police just kind of blew her off and she hung up, tossing away the scrap sheet of paper.

I was going to just go back to watching tv, but she called my attention to another scrap on the floor in the hallway that lead back to {apparently} her room. I picked it up and looked at it. I don't remember what all was on it aside from that the majority of it was filled with words and phrases that were crossed out. The only thing that wasn't crossed out was a few letters and numbers, which I also don't remember exactly aside from NY being two of the letters, and I only remember that because of thinking "so what's in new york?" when reading it.

But whatever code or some such that this was, it was similar to what the girl was trying to tell the police over the phone but her paper had turned blank before she could give the exact sequence. It was the same length and had the same amount of numbers and letters in the same order... just different numbers and letters. She said these were the notes her stalker was always leaving her and also frequently told her, "I am you". Officially kind of creeped out myself because I knew that paper wasn't there earlier and I didn't see anyone else, I decide to escort her back to her room and offer to stand guard.

And as we're going down the hall, suddenly my sister arrives for whatever reason. I tell her to stay close because there's weird stuff going down and she follows along. The little girl leads the way because I've no idea where the ******** her bedroom is and she ends up taking us down a long corridor that just seems to get darker the further down it we go. Each new door we pass, I wonder if that's her room but she just keeps going until eventually she stops at the back door of the house. Outside is nothing but woods, which I distinctly remember her calling "the Black Forest", and went on to say that her stalker keeps calling her into the Black Forest, and he will call me into it too.

It's about here that I suddenly realize that I was supposed to be home alone and I have no idea who the ******** this little girl is. Moreover, what the ******** is my sister doing here? I turn toward my sister, whose footsteps I had heard following along the whole time, and there's no one there. I turn back to the little girl and it's a ******** shadow man, approaching me all sinister-like saying "I am you."

I then became aware of the fact that I was dreaming and this was turning into a nightmare, so I straight up noped it away because I tend to do that. I honestly can't recall the last time I actually had a full blown nightmare because I always become self aware, even if just for a second, and change it. This was one of those instances where it was just for a moment, as after noping away the shadow man, the dream continued with my extended family showing up, including my grandpa and youngest uncle... both of which are dead. I hugged them both, having some vague awareness that they were dead outside the dream but not fully grasping that. I'd also like to point out here that I'm not a hugger and wasn't particularly close to either of them. They were both artists, though... my uncle did painting {particularly watercolor if I remember correctly} and poetry and died of alcohol poisoning. My grandpa did woodworking and just died of old age... on the toilet apparently. My grandpa was also a pieces... not sure why that came to mind, but there it is.

Anyway, I hugged my grandpa a good long time while I tried to tell everyone about the little girl turned shadow man and for some reason only came to his chest. My grandpa was shorter than me. As I started to notice things were still off, the world fell apart like broken glass, leaving me alone in a black void.

I tried to navigate around it and, despite it seeming empty, there were still walls in my way. Getting back some awareness of being in a dream, I tried to phase through the walls {something I also often do in dreams for some reason} and I end up falling through the floor as I'm passing through a wall and end up in a basement with some laundry machines. Weird, but I at least wasn't in a void anymore and didn't appear to still be in a nightmare, so I accepted it and went to go up the stairs but had the bejeezus scared out of me by a person standing there on the stairs. They had the same silhouette as the shadow man and I didn't recognize them at first, but it was actually me, though the hair was done differently {kind of slicked back as I recall} and they were wearing clothes that were way too big for them... kind of reminded me of how I dressed in high school, actually.

So I thought that this was a mirror... although in hindsight, it clearly wasn't a mirror because I could see up the stairs. A true mirror would have been showing a reflection of the basement through it. But there was certainly a barrier there. I touched it to see if I would just pass through it and it's consistency was like syrup to the touch, however it shattered as I tried to actually walk through it, leaving me in a dark void again.

Feeling like I was getting no where, I was like, "Alright, ******** it. I'll make something from scratch then", at which point I found myself in a room much like the one I had at my dad's house. I was looking around for an object to build a dream around, and first started going for the television {also an old tube tv}, which was playing some sort of cartoon show, but on top of the tv was a stuffed green rabbit which I of course immediately associated with Draa. And I remember thinking to myself something along the lines of, "There you are," as I picked it up and I was again falling into a void, but instead of a dark void like before, it was completely white and I could feel cool, fresh air all around me. I woke up shortly after.

I will analyze your dream:

((TBD))
PostPosted: Thu Sep 14, 2017 8:18 pm
To start you open the scene sitting on a table, to see a table in your dream represents social unity and family connections.
You mention the table was solid/sturdy this shows how you view your family/social ties.
However, since the impression is that the table upsets your spouse - this should be further considered.

You mention that you are sitting/laying on this table, this may indicate that you need to relax, this relates to your health and your personal concerns and anxieties about your well-being. The concept that sitting on the table is not proper to your spouse, this should also be further considered since this sybol may mean you are trying to better yourself with the support of family and friends.

You saw a young girl in your dream, she represents your playful, innocent, and childlike nature. Perhaps you are behaving immaturely in some situation. She was carrying notes and trying to read them, this suggests that there is an important message that your innocent side it trying to convey to you. There may be something that you need to let others know.

She was being stalked, this indicates some difficulty or issues which are confronting/threatening your innocent nature, it seems this attack is being ignored, but it shouldn't be ignored because it will not stop even if the message itself fades away.

You are the stalker as well, "I am you", to dream that you are a stalker represents your shadow and the negative part of your Self. It is also symbolic of a bad habit which you have unsuccessfully tried to break. You are harassing your innocence with negative energy and bad habits but you won't allow yourself to stop.

Now let's get back to the table or in this scene your grandfather and uncle.
To see your grandfather in your dream symbolizes tradition, protection, wisdom, and a caring nature. To see your uncle in your dream represents some aspect of your family heritage and trait. It also symbolizes new ideas and emerging awareness.

now perhaps the two most important pieces:

Void
This signifies an obstacle that is creating much anxiety for you. You need to work through the difficulty and overcome this obstacle in your life.

To dream that you are falling into a void symbolizes the depths of your subconscious. You are afraid and/or uncertain as to what you will discover about yourself and about your hidden feelings and fears.

The void may also represent your primal fears and feelings of "falling into a pit of despair". Perhaps you are in a state of depression or wallowing in your negative feelings.

Mirror
To dream of your own reflection in the mirror suggests that you are pondering thoughts about your inner self. The reflection in the mirror is how you perceive yourself or how you want others to see you. You may be contemplating on strengthening and changing aspects of your character.

Alternatively, the dream means that you are unwilling to acknowledge your subconscious emotions.

If you see a strange figure or something other than your own reflection, then it suggests that you are undergoing some identity crisis. You are not sure about who you are anymore.

I looked up some more symbols and found some other things that seemed relevant. And because I find dream interpretation interesting, I tend to assume others do as well, but I had a bit of a debate about sharing because it's going to be... awkwardly personal....

New York
If you do not live in New York, but dream that you are in New York, then it symbolizes your fast paced lifestyle. Perhaps things are moving too fast and you are unable to keep up with the demands of everyday life. Alternatively, the dream represents your desires for more excitement in your life.

Hallway
To see a hallway in your dream symbolizes self exploration. It is the beginning of the path that you are taking in life. You are going through a transitional phase and journeying into the unknown. It also signals spiritual enlightenment, emotional growth physical prowess, new opportunities and mental passages in your life. The hallway getting darker and the ominous feeling I got from it would seem to indicate this is a direction I'm reluctant to go down.

Backdoor
To see a backdoor in your dream suggests that you need to search a little harder to find an answer to your problem. Sometimes the solution may not be obvious.

Shadows
To see a shadowy figure in your dream represents characteristics which you have not acknowledged or incorporated into your own personality. Alternatively, it symbolizes the young, the helpless or the under-developed.
Given the reflection of me that was the same shape as the shadow looked more like me in high school, the latter part of this might be on to something.

Small
To dream that you are small and everyone is normal sized suggests that you are suffering from low self-esteem and/or a sense of helplessness. Perhaps you are being overlooked.

Glass
To see broken glass in your dream signifies disappointments and negative changes in your life. Alternatively, it could be symbolic of an aspect of your life that is in pieces.

Walls
To see a wall in your dream signifies limitations, obstacles and boundaries. There is a barrier obstructing your progress. Alternatively, the wall indicates that you are too accustomed to your old habits and way of thinking. You feel stuck.

To dream that you demolish or break down a wall indicates that you are breaking through obstacles and overcoming your limitations. It also means that you desire some freedom and independence.

Being that I don't break the walls and simply pass through them could indicate the desire for freedom and independence is there and I like to give myself the illusion of having it, but I don't actually break the wall to achieve it. It's imaginary. This is also a recurring theme in my dreams that extends beyond this one. On a random note {or maybe not}, I also tend to stop breathing when passing through a wall for some reason. As in, actual me... my body. I stop breathing in my sleep sometimes, and passing through a wall is when I notice it most.

Laundromat
To dream that you are at a Laundromat represents a transformation or cleansing. You are ready to rid yourself of past hurts. It is time for new changes.
While these were laundry machines in a house basement and not at a laundromat, being at a laundromat has been a recurring theme in recent months and I did associate seeing the machines with the laundromat dreams.

Black
Black symbolizes the unknown, the subconscious, danger, mystery, darkness, death, mourning, rejection, hate or malice. The color invites you to delve deeper in your subconscious in order to gain a better understanding of yourself. It also signifies a lack of love and lack of support.

Stuffed Animal
To see a stuffed animal in your dream represents an immature attitude. You are trying to escape from your daily responsibilities and problems. Alternatively, a stuffed animal indicates your need to relax and be less serious. You need to let your mind and body to rejuvenate. A stuffed animal may also mean security, love, comfort, support and unconditional or unquestioned love.
Draa being in my dreams is fairly common. There's also a recurring theme of looking for him and being unable to find him. This time, he was a stuffed animal. And as odd as it may sound, I do associate all the bold text with him as a character even though it's more of a mix of his and Vass' qualities.

White
White represents purity, perfection, peace, innocence, dignity, cleanliness, awareness, and new beginnings. You may be experiencing a reawakening or have a fresh outlook on life. Alternatively, white refers to a clean, blank slate.
So uh... I need to find Draa apparently.
PostPosted: Fri Sep 15, 2017 3:31 am
Interesting interpretations.

I used to have a recurring dream, one that appeared like every 5 years or so, ever since I was a kid. Though it's been quite awhile since I've had this particular dream show up, maybe 10-15 years or more. I just find it odd that it would just stop recurring like that.

Just a few more interesting insights:

Forest
A forest or the woods in a dream may represent the unconscious. ... Being lost in a forest or the woods in a dream may symbolize being lost or confused -- you need to trust your instincts to find your way out; or you may be exploring your unconscious to “find yourself”

Television is a common pastime many watch daily. It can symbolize being confused about your emotions and your mental health. But, it can also refer to the way you communicate in your relationships.

If see a TV most likely you used to live for the day. You are interested only in present. Be careful, the fate doesn’t forgive frivolity. It's time to grow up and think about your future.

Telephone
To dream of a telephone represents psychological communication with an aspect of yourself or issues that need attention. The ability to "get through" to people, listen to an inner voice, or realize an objective at will. It may also reflect an situations that could be "called " into being if desired. To dream of phoning someone represents a desire to make available, get through, or be connected to certain feelings, situations, people. An aspect of yourself that you are to "calling into being" or want attention from. Beliefs, feelings, or situations that you want available to you right now. Negatively, phoning someone may point to reliance on bad habits or negative thinking patterns.

To dream that a phone doesn't work or is broken represents an inability to initiate a situation or desired reaction. Feeling extremely frustrated or cut off from power. There is no means to go about starting something. A situation may have gone awry and you feel that you can't do anything about it. You can only think of wanting to try something. Feeling cut off from resources or abilities. It may also reflect an inability to get in touch with someone. Feeling socially cut off.

To dream of phoning someone with no answer represents frustration or failure to achieve an objective. Alternatively, you may feel unable to get through to someone or unable to get attention. People may not be listening to you or respecting your wishes.

To dream of emergency calls or calling 911 represents an urgent need or strong desire to avoid something. Desperation to get rid of a problem.

Fan
To dream of a cooling fan represents an aspect of your life that is keeping calm during an emotional crisis or bad situation. Reducing the severity of tense of highly charged emotional situation. Feeling comfortable knowing that you don't have to care about something negative that is happening. Negatively, a cooling fan may reflect an excessively prolonged stressful situation that you are putting up with. Trying to keep calm all the time. Feeling that it's difficult to manage a crisis.
