51-60: As you're preparing to run your net, you discover that the beach is swarming with spiderclaws. You decide the fish can wait, and instead, start gathering the shelled creatures. That's good eatin'! You are successful and able to bring back quite the haul! +15 points

Serrekhar was determined to show something for his hard work this week... After the pole fiasco, he had reluctantly decided to try his hand with a net again.... and never even got to make it to the water. There were spiderclaws as far as the eye could see on the beach, and he hastily abandoned his net in a safe place so he could run around like an idiot and gather as many as he possibly could! Finally!

Character: Alya and White Baihath (-15)

Quote:
21-30: Well that didn't go as planned. You thought you were pulling in a whopper, but instead all it turns out to be is an ancient, slimey, and very unsalvageable boot tangled up with some driftwood. There's nothing edible about this--not even any shelled seagrubs. To top it off, any fishing you do the rest of the day will either result in no bites or catches. -15 points

"Ew, ew, ewwwww!" Alya held the disgusting boot-and-driftwood mess as far away from her as possible on the line, looking extremely distraught. Here she'd been thinking she had a nice big fish on the line... and instead she got this!

Oh! Well, now we have to find the second one! And then if you put them on, you can find the secret treasure they know about! Baihath was delighted. Alya would put more energy into telling him she was NOT about to put on a nasty old boot instead of fishing for the rest of the day....

Aerden focused on hauling in the net from the shallows, grunting quietly with the effort.... only to lose his grip as a wave smashed into him. Tianxiath hadn't been paying attention or he might have helped out, and Aerden was left with an empty net as the fish inside darted to freedom. Sigh...

81-90: The line snaps and slices your hand right open. Ouch! Not only did you lose the haul, but you now have to visit the healers and get the wound dressed. Roll a D4 to see how severe your damage is! -5 points

Ouch! This is deep. You have either lost a finger, or have cut into a nerve. This means you are out for the remainder of the game, and your grip will be permanently weakened. Take an extra -5 points for this roll.

It was strange how little pain there was.

He'd felt the line snap. It bit into his palm and kept going after some brief resistance, and Bukichi cursed aloud. He lifted his hand with a scowl to inspect the damage, and for a moment, he didn't quite understand what he was seeing. The amount of blood was distracting, true, but his hand didn't look quite right.

The sound waves lapping against the dock felt muffled as he studied his hand, finally piecing together what seemed so off about it. His finger was gone. His body, numb and strangely sluggish, was slow to respond he turned his gaze to the creaking wood currently supporting him. There it was. His index finger looked small and odd. Bukichi reached to take it with his uninjured hand. He couldn't have said why. It just seemed important, somehow.

He didn't think much as at all as he turned and walked away, his injured hand cradled close to his chest.

You caught a haul full of a school of fingertails.

It wasn't the biggest net of fish he could have hauled in, but Nemeryn eyed his glittering catch with some satisfaction. It was better than nothing, but maybe he could do better next time. He'd keep this spot in mind...

She had practically no idea what to do with a fishing pole, but it seemed as though the fish were hungry today. She lost a few due to her inexperience, but she still managed to fill up a bucket with yellowfins and fingertails, and that seemed like an extremely good use of a day!

"C'mon." J'hcre growled to himself, his arms straining as he struggled to pull a net that had to be full of fish! He was so focused, he almost didn't see the wave coming. Watch the water, darling! Paciseth called out, snaking out a leg to shield him and the net from the worst of the water.

"Thanks, sweets." He grunted, and with a massive pull, managed to haul the net up and onto the shore. "Look at that!" He surveyed the struggling packtails with pride. It was about time he'd pulled his own weight around here!

Quote:
61-70: You're fishing with a pole today, standing on the small floating dock.
You see the bobber go under, and pull up hard. Sure enough, there's a whopper at the end of the line. It's a fight, and you can tell you've snagged the largest packtail you've ever seen. Unfortunately you yank too hard and the line snaps. Not only is your pole now useless, but the big one gets away.
Worse, your fishing luck the rest of the sevenday seems to follow suit... You wind up with a whole lot of nothin'. -10 points

M'lus waited patiently for hours until he received the bite on the end of the line, and one tug told him that the fish had been worth waiting for. He grit his teeth, trying to reel in the beast.... and with one mighty yank, well. Instead of forcing the fish up and out of the water like he'd hoped, the line popped, leaving him with a useless pole and no fish.

A good mix of some yellowfin and redstripes! Yum, yum, yum!

"This will make for some delicious stew." B'nar announced, extremely pleased with his generous haul today! A little variety was always nice. Sure, fish was fish, but he certainly wasn't the type of guy to complain. Not too much, anyway.....

Lots of fish and a variety, too! Packtail, silverfish, bluefish, and even a few spiderclaws! Tasty, tasty!

It's not as much as last time. Ahigath noted, her tail flicking curiously as she nosed through the net.

"Well, we can't always be so lucky. But we've been very fortunate so far." Haseya patted her dragon's cheek.
