Chakra: 245 \ Stamina: 245
Yesterday is not ours to recover, but tomorrow is ours to win or lose.
Serenity strode into the Academy and looked around, sure, she'd just graduated, but she knew this was the best place to do any and all training. She walked over to the wall of scrolls and picked the two that contained her bloodlines. She read them over and hummed thoughtfully. While she was reading, she was aware of the others in the academy, but kept to herself. She didn’t want to be bothered while she was training; well, unless that cutie from the office took her up on her offer.
Serenity shook her head and chuckled to herself before she began to read the first scroll. She hummed as she did so, and mentally ran through a list of things she needed to learn before she could progress as a true shinobi. [1/10] She knew, however, that this was going to take a while, so she mentally prepared for sitting through the long haul. She took a deep breath, and decided on focusing on her Hyōton, for the moment. [2/10] Serenity gathered her chakra using a single hand seal, but it did nothing. She growled lowly, she had had problems with this in the Academy, before she graduated, so it was no surprise that she had problems with it now. Instead, she took a calming breath, and tried again. [3/10] Serenity gathered her chakra again, and instead focused it internally. She focused on how the air around her contained minute traces of water. She couldn’t use Suiton techniques, but she could take existing water and freeze it to her needs. [4/10] She used her chakra to draw the moisture from the air around her, and watched as it kind of hovered there, with the force of her chakra sustaining it. It was pretty, and almost made Serenity wish she had access to suiton jutsu, but she knew it would never happen, and she had made her peace with that weakness. [5/10] She watched as the water spun, slowly, and she smiled softly as she remembered her father showing her these techniques as a child, of her uncle doing the same for her later, after the death of her parents. [6/10] Her parents had never believed in keeping her from the world they lived in, and her aunt and uncle had respected those wishes after her parents had died, so she had been able to watch as they trained, knowing that one day she would need the information. [7/10] Serenity knew that one day, she would be as great as they were, as great as her family, she had promised Acheron, that she would be, and that was a promise she intended to keep. She kept all her promises, she was not someone who ever broke her promises, and if she did, there was hell to pay. [8/10] Serenity shook her head, her mane of red hair flying around her as she tried to clear her mind of the past memories of her long dead family members. She had Hakanai now, and Hakanai’s partner Shu; and their cousin Sonyo, who had moved from Kumogakure to Sunagakure. She missed Sonyo, but she was not upset with her for moving. [9/10] Serenity shook her head again, she was getting to lost in thought. She sighed and focused on the floating water, she had held her hand sign the entire time, enabling it to stay as was while she was lost in thought. She focused on the water, and smirked as it slowly, slowly, began to freeze. She had focused so much chakra, that the water had been roughly the amount that could be found in a pond. Which was a pretty decent amount to be used in any of her Hyōton jutsy. [10/10]
Serenity popped her neck and looked over the same scroll, just a different jutsu this time. She looked at the previously made ice and smiled, it would be perfect for her next jutsu, since it required already created ice to be present. [1/5] She gathered her chakra and focused on the ice, thinking of something that would be relatively simple to manipulate for her first attempt. [2/5] She hummed thoughtfully as she finally settled on the shape of a senbon needle. It was simple, and would be easy enough to try and replicate in ice, plus it would be useful, in killing enemies and vanishing, because she could dismiss her ice and no one would see a murder weapon. [3/5] Serenity wove a single hand sign, and watched as some of the ice moved to her whim, but that was all it was for the moment, a hunk of ice that had moved from the main body. She glared at it, as if demanding that it do as she wanted. She would master this, and she would do so immediately. [4/5] She manipulated her chakra once more, and watched as the hunk of ice, this time, began to take shape. Slowly, it molded itself, and whittled away to be a thin, yet strong, piece of ice that was in a perfectly tailored shape, the ends at delicate points best suited for piercing. A beautiful senbon needle. [5/5]
Serenity sighed softly and put her Hyōton scroll away. She grabbed the other scroll she had pulled down, and read it through. She tapped her foot as she thought about what she needed to know, and how long it would take to learn it. And unlike with her ice, she had had no one but her mother to turn to for these skills. [1/12]She knew that she could just use the base crystal skills, but this jutsu would enable her to use harder crystals. Which she could then use to better effect, and make it harder for anyone to break through them with regular abilities. She figured she would settle on several crystals while training this ability. [2/12] She remembered all the gem types that her mother had ingrained into her mind, even as a young girl. They would com in handy now, she realized. There were so many that could be helpful, Beryl, Bloodstone, Emeralds of multiple varieties, garnets of multiple varieties, and multiple types of silicates that formed into intricate crystals. [3/12] Serenity thought about their individual makeups, and how they formed naturally, and it made her start to think about other things, about how they could be used in battle, or used to reinforce her existing crystal formations. There was so much to learn, she knew she would have to hit the books on geology she had at home, later. [4/12] But for now, this was all she had. She focused on her Shōton, and gathered her chakra. She imagined a perfectly crystalline structure of a ruby. Serenity knew that a ruby was just under a diamond on the hardness scale, so only a diamond could cut or break it. [5/12] The ruby was slow in forming, almost like watching the ruby form in fast forward. The dull pink-red crystal formed, bit by bit and inch by inch, in a seemingly random pattern. But Serenity knew each grain of crystal that would form, as it did so. Ruby, and the more rare; more lustrous, star ruby, had been her mother’s favorite crystal formation. The Star Ruby, as far as abilities and formation, was identical to the regular ruby. The only true difference had been the beautiful white ‘star’ pattern that formed inside of the crystal itself. [6/12] She smiled as the ruby finished forming. That was one, but she felt like she should probably continue to practice, because she had to have this perfected. Serenity took a deep breath and focused on a different crystal, leaving the ruby where it was. She figured she might want that for later. Instead, she focused on her father’s favorite crystal formation, that her mother had often created just for him; sapphire. [7/12] The sapphire was actually the same base type of crystal, created from a mineral known as corundum, so it was simple enough to create it, after making the ruby. The sapphire as a fathomless blue, very deep, nearly purple. What so few people bothered to know was that a sapphire could come in a multitude of colors, blue was simply the most popular and desired. Her father had been no different, in the desire for the color, but he had been aware of the different colors. [8/12] Once again, the crystal formed, in the distinct pattern that all corundum was made of. The sapphire, unlike the ruby she had created, was a bright blue, where the ruby had been a dull pink-red. Sapphires also had a more rare version, called the star sapphire, that had the same white star-like formation in it that the star ruby did. Her father had liked the regular sapphire, but Serenity herself liked the look of the star sapphire, and the star ruby. [9/12] Serenity hummed as she looked at the two crystals, and then shook her head once more. She remembered how her father had said he almost let her mother name her Ruby, because of her hair, but she had been such a calm baby that they had changed their mind. The story always made her laugh. [10/12] She sighed and turned to another type of crystal. This crystal was called chrysoberyl, and was an eight and a half on the hardness scale, making it only marginally weaker than the ruby or the sapphire. She liked this one, because it came in a rare cat’s-eye variety that was vibrantly colored. And Serenity loved bright shiny stones. [11/12] Serenity watched as the new crystal formed and grew, slowly at first, then more rapidly. She smiled as it took it’s final form, more fancy than the last two, since she was getting better at controlling her crystals. It was the size of an average house cat. Serenity wiped the light sheen of sweat from her h=forehead and smiled, proud of her work. [12/12]
Serenity grabbed her scroll, and red it over quickly. She knew what her last jutsu was, but she wanted to be sure she had it right in her mind before she tried it; and made a fool of herself. As her grandfather had used to say, measure twice; cut once. Better to over prepare than under prepare, she had always believed. [1/5] She put the scroll away for the moment, and mentally went though the motions, imagining what she wanted to happen. Her chakra swirled through her and around her, moving her hair with the energy of it. [2/5] She smiled as she turned to her ruby first. She formed the needed hand signs, and smiled slightly as she saw it change and shift. Slowly it turned into the shape of a dog. [3/5] She turned to the sapphire and did the same, and the sapphire molded to her will, just as she knew it would. It wasn’t difficult, since she had been watching her mother practice and train for years. She loved practicing like this, like her mother used to. It made her think of her mother. [4/5] The sapphire took on the shape of an average cat. She looked at the Cat’s-eye and hummed thoughtfully, then smiled as she held the double hand sign once more. The Cat’s-eye shifted and changed right before her eyes, and slowly turned into a pair of almond shapes. The shapes then moved and molded to the sapphire cat, and became it’s eyes. [5/5]
Serenity sighed, and closed her eyes as she sat down in front her of ruby dog and sapphire and cat’s-eye cat sculptures. She was proud of herself. These were some of the more time consuming jutsu her clan had, and she had plowed through them in no time. That was an accomplishment, and one she was proud to say she’d done in one sitting. The redhead looked around and pouted, slightly disappointed she didn’t see the cutie from outside the Raikage’s office. She wondered if he’d been held up? "Hmph, no eye-candy to go along with the pretty crystals." She wasn’t the type to sleep with just anyone, but she didn’t see the harm in admiring good looking people. Plus, harmless flirting was kind of fun, if not taken to far. She flipped her har over her shoulder and took out her scrolls, going through and making another mental list for after her break.
