"I'm supposed to be a master charmer. I hope I was at least close...." Daemon muttered as he grudgingly sat up.

 

[M3Gnificent]

Larai walked over to sit beside Daemon on the bed, smirking still. "At certain points, I was tempted. But I still won." she said, almost condescendingly. "Would a consolation prize make you feel any better?"

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

"You know pity sex never helps." Daemon said giving her a flat expression.

 

[M3Gnificent]

"I was just going to offer you a kiss." Larai said with a small shrug. "But I guess since pity sex doesn't help, that's right out." Her smile fell slightly. "Look, there will be more opprotunities in the future. Just not when a valuable prize is at stake for me."

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

"So you admit that you wanted it then? Just had to hold back to make sure you kept me around?" Daemon said, his mood quickly switching as he leaned in with a smug smirk.

 

[M3Gnificent]

"If that helps you sleep at night, then yes." Larai said in a slightly teasing tone as she continued grinning at him. "Just remember that as professional crook, I know when to hold out for the bigger prize."

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

"Bigger prize, yes....If you really wanted my company on a regular basis, all you had to do was ask." Daemon said with a cheery grin.

((Need to go shower, bbl.))

 

[M3Gnificent]

"Maybe, but I also love winning." Larai replied quite proudly. "Also, you'll be largely surprised how few accomplices last when there's nothing obligating them to help me."

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

"Well you know what they say about good help these days." Daemon said easily. Good minions were hard to find.

 

[M3Gnificent]

"Exactly." After a few moments of pondering Larai then asked, "So, when should we head out for Syria? I've got most of my things packed and I've already said my farewells." The last bit was only half true. She just left a note in her room with a vague explanation as to why she was gone and a short farewell to her mother, father, and siblings.

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

"Well, if I'm now stuck with you, I have to leave that up to you, oh fearless leader." Daemon said folding his arms as he leaned back against the wall.

"You've got to be kidding me....Mala!" Van called, having discovered Larai's note.

 

[M3Gnificent]

Mala headed to where Van was at, having just finished feeding Anise. The little baby slept ever so peacefully in her arms. "What is it, Van?"

"Fine, we head out now then." Larai said, getting up off the bed and waiting for Daemon to do the same. "We're going to a dock town west of the one we just robbed. That means we're going to be camping out at least once."

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

"Look what Larai left for us." Van said with a sigh, holding the note up for Mala to read.

"Eh, such is the life of a wanderer." Daemon said easily as he got to his feet.

 

[M3Gnificent]

The note read;

'I've got the wanderlust once again. I can't ignore it any longer. Do not get me wrong, though, for I enjoyed the time we spent together.

I love you all and I wish you the best of luck. Sincerely, Larai.'

"Oh damn it." Mala muttured after reading the note. "I don't know if we should leave her be or chase after her."

"I've got a spare tent too, so we don't have to share." Larai said as put the mattress in the magical bag of holding she possessed before crawling through one of the shorter tunnels towards the surface.

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

"Not only can she not say goodbye to our faces, but she has to make it sound like she never plans to see us again." Van said looking back at the note.

Daemon snapped his fingers in disappointment before following her up.
