Abby had been bored stiff on the train ride, but having someone new to talk had helped- even if he had kind of segued his trip into them sharing a compartment. She didn't mind, but it wasn't like you could say 'no' when someone said 'unless you don't want to hang out with me'. At least it had sort of helped with saying goodbye and she hadn't just stood there like an idiot until the train left. Not that she thought Kenny would have let her miss the train. But still. "You could always get like, a cat or a toad or a hamster or something," she told Shui as she stepped off the train, a little surprised at how late in the day it was. Plus she was dying of hunger, so hopefully the school was nearby.

Arriving at Hogsmeade for the start of the new school was always exhilarating for DJ, but on this train ride, he'd made a new friend and that made it all the better for him. Though initially she had seemed distant, at the offer of candy, they had started speaking and were having a really interesting conversation. Taking another couple pumpkin pasties from his pocket, he offered one to Tsubaki. "I agree wit yae," he said, his Scottish accent rolling out. "Me sis can be quite annoying at times." He shrugged and munched happily on the pastie, glancing around the platform. This time of year was a lot of excitement, with friends meeting up after a long summer, couples reuniting and lots of excitement everywhere. The first years almost always looked nervous and he could almost always pick out the Muggleborns as they marveled at everything. Glancing at his new friend, he said, "Should we get a cab or wait til the rest of tae students are out?"

Will had been lucky enough to find a relatively quiet cabin for the duration of the train ride, managing to hide in the corner and read comic books. Luckily, the other kids didn't seem to mind, only speaking to him once to inform him of the snack cart coming along. Once the train had stopped, the blonde followed the group onto an excessively crowded platform, a small scowl forming on his face. They really should make this platform bigger. Not like they couldn't use magic. Stupid adults, not thinking up obvious solutions to problems. He rolled his eyes, stepping as far away from the other people as humanly possible. Crowds were just not his thing.

Enid was glad to be heading back to Hogwarts. Her mum was pregnant and honestly very emotional. Luckily when you had school you could get away from that. Which sucked since she had been enjoying the summer with her brother. Boarding the train at the station she ended up comparting with her roommate Karen Williams. Enid liked the Slytherin girl, she was quiet much like her and overall decent. Given a number of Slytherins the third year would rather avoid it wasn’t bad at all.

Along the way to school they talked off and on. Enid shared a bit about her summer overall. Jefferson, Enid’s cat remained sleepily in his carrier for the trip. Upon arrival to Hogsmeade, the third year was grateful to be getting off the train. “Not sure how I’m going to manage the fencing club and all my electives.” Enid mentioned as she looked to her roomie. “Speaking of what electives did you decide on taking?”

spaceCallum arrived at the Station to pick up the new batch of first years for their journey to the school. As always, he made note of his physical presence, trying to present an aura of approachable and kind, while still looking like someone you wouldn't want to make angry. Children, after all, could be troublemakers, and he wanted to be sure that none of them thought to cause problems for him. But, at the same time, they were just kids. He didn't want to scare them. People tended to be afraid of him, and it was no one's fault but his own. Still, he had a job to do. Magically amplifying his voice, he called out, "Attention! First year students! Make your way over towards me, please, so that we can start heading to the castle!"

spaceAs the small group began to form around him, he smiled. "Evening! My name is Callum Murdoch, I'll be escorting you to Hogwarts Castle. Everyone needs to stay close to me. You'll have plenty of time to explore the castle and grounds," which did not include the village, obviously, but he didn't figure it'd do him any favors to mention that, "once the school year is underway. For now, you need to stick with me so we can get you sorted and fed." Hopefully, the lure of food would keep them from acting up. A few kids had tried to sneak off here and there, and he wasn't keen on chasing down an eleven year old. He'd like to keep his job, thanks.

Laire didn't have to take the train because she'd spent all day at the shop with her mum and siblings, playing in the flat above the shop. While they didn't live there, as it served as her mum's office and a storage space, Laire had spent the night there before on the sofa. She wished she could have taken the train, but on the other hand, she was in far more energetic spirits than most of the first years plodding off it, tired by the long journey. Besides, it would have been odd to go from Scotland to England and back again. She joined the throng of first years, before noticing one boy off to the side looking a bit fed up with the whole thing. "Oi," she addressed him rather bluntly, "you'll miss the whole thing if you just stand there." She herself was pretty anxious to get to Hogwarts, since she'd been staring up at the castle from Hogsmeade for what seemed like years.

Shui had a fun ride with Abby. She didnt seem the overly social type which was ok. He was able to get a snack but even with that he was almost hungry enough to gnaw someones arm off. Though he obviously didnt want to do that. He let Abby get changed first then he did. He hopped off the train and heard a adult call for first years. Shui made sure he was with the right group. He really didn't want to get lost in a strange place at night however safe it might be. Hopefully dinner would be soon. Then a bed. Today was exhausting.

Nico had a fun train ride friendy company, animals to play with, and junk food. The food felt like forever ago but Nico knew it be a bit till dinner. He changed in to his school robes seperate from Riddles. It made since she was a girl after all. He exited the train and saw a big man call for the first years. He felt a bit self conscious. Having normally green hair will do that. He could make it look normal but he figured it be silly at this point. And that took work. He awaited to see what was next.

Will stared off into the crowd, rather annoyed by the throngs of people still pouring off the train. How was the school supposed to comfortably house all eleven million kids that seemed to come from the woodworks. Hell, there were kids joining the platform that looked like they walked in from the town. What kind of bologna was that! He could've spent the day at home and had his dad apparate him here. At least then he wouldn't be starving. Suddenly, a random girl about his age was speaking to him, snapping his attention to her. When she said he'd miss the whole thing standing there, he rolled his eyes. "Kinda hard to miss anything being surrounded by people. Besides, now I'm not standing here, as the first years were called over to that guy." He pushed himself out of his lean, walking around the girl toward the large man who had called the first years. A few steps away, he paused, turning back to the girl, blue eyes glittering in the platform lights. "You coming, or are you not a first year?"

Laire raised an eyebrow in response. "His name is Mr. Murdoch. He's the Keeper of the Keys, my mum told me." She didn't know why he was acting like they were about to undergo some grisly torture. Sure, not everyone was thrilled to be going to Hogwarts, but Laire thought it was a good deal better than any boring muggle school. Besides, wasn't he excited for the Sorting, at the very least? She wanted Gryffindor, like Da. "If I wasn't a first year, I wouldn't have bothered," she snorted, and, not liking the feeling of following someone else, quickly matched his pace. What a rude little git, not even bothering to ask her name. Not that she'd asked for his, but still. "Laire Thorburn," she added. "My mum runs Honeydukes- the sweets shop."

Will shrugged when she corrected the teacher guy's name. How in the seven hells was he supposed to know his name. "Alright, let's get over to Mr. Murdoch, then." He ran a hand through his hair, biting his lip to avoid huffing a sigh as the girl hurried to catch up with him. "And what if it were I that wasn't a first year? Then you'd have only looked foolish. Besides, we've never met and there was no real way for me to know you were a new student as well." He wanted to tell her not to be cocky, but he knew he had the same problem sometimes, which would probably exacerbate things. She offered her name, Laire, and said her mum ran the sweets shop. A subtle shudder ran through him, but he decided he wasn't about to open that can of worms. "Will Bennett. My father's Head Auror. Good to meet you, though." He flashed a smirk, then stopped before Mr. Murdoch, face returning to a frown.

Laire gave him a bemused look. "No one looks foolish trying to help another person. That's what my mum always says." At his claim that he couldn't tell whether she was a first year or not, she smirked. "If I was an upper year, I'd have a house crest on my robes." He had an odd reaction to hearing about Honeydukes- what, was he allergic to sweets or something?Laire didn't have a huge sweet tooth herself, but she still enjoyed all her mum's confectioneries. He mentioned that his father was Head Auror, and she resisted the urge to roll her eyes. He could have just said 'my dad's an auror'. "My mum's boyfriend's an auror. He's got a prosthetic leg- maybe your dad knows him." She met his smirk with an unimpressed look, before waiting to see where they were being taken.

Tsubaki was absolutely hating the fact that she had to live with her sister. Of all the places she didn’t want to be under her roof. Never mind following her rules. The Hufflepuff alum had at least been willing to let her keep the snake she loved so much. Even if it was a garden snake. Sadly, she had to leave the snake at home since she usually brought her feline with her. Kit-Kit was happy curled up next to her though and she was content with the feline companion.

It was odd ending up riding the train with someone. Diego despite being in her year wasn’t her usual type of person she socialized with. He was a Hufflepuff something that the Slytherin avoided because of her goody two shoes of a sister. Granted she didn’t socialize much with anyone which was a lot of the problem. There was Callista and that one Ravenclaw Rein. She only accepted Callista because they were roommates. As for Rein she only tolerated the girl for her quiet nature. Besides her weaker classes were Rein’s better ones so she was handy at least in some way.

Diego on the other hand offered candy and the understanding that sisters were a pain. Who could resist pumpkin pasties anyway? Tsubaki practically lived in the world of pumpkin and all things candy. Her birthday was Halloween, not that she enjoyed it at all. Taking the candy offered to her, the Slytherin supposed he was alright for a puff. “I’m just grateful I only have to deal with her during the summer and winter holiday.” She commented to that. Diego was stuck with his sister for like everything. His only out was to graduate.

“I say we take our time. The sooner we get to the great hall the more waiting we’ll have to do.” Tsubaki answered. If there was one thing she hated it was waiting around for something as pointless as the sorting ceremony. Why students had to sit through it was beyond her. Like she’d even bother with the first years. Thus, the reason she hadn’t gotten prefect. Yeah, she was still irritated about that one, even if she didn’t want the commitment. “I imagine this is going to be a busy year. Don’t you think so?” She questioned looking to her classmate.

Diego glanced at the raven haired girl when she mentioned that she was grateful to only have to deal with her sister during the summer and holidays. He wished he was so lucky, because she would sometimes find him in the halls to pick on him. She thought it was funny that he was older than her but still susceptible to her pranks. When she suggested that they wait around a little longer and let more of the general populace head out first, he nodded. He was okay with that. Ana had probably already found someone to race to the carts, so at least she'd be out of his hair. Fishing a chocolate frog out of his pocket, he popped it open and looked at the card inside. "Yeah, there's a lot of first years this year. And I'm already hungry," he said, pulling the actual frog from his candy and putting it in his mouth.

Looking around at the platform bustling around him, Diego knew this year would be exciting. After all, they had O.W.L.s at the end of the year and those tests were very important. And they helped determine what you were going to do with the rest of your life. DJ wanted to be a radio dj, but he knew very little about the actual process. He was just very fascinated with Muggle music. Both of his parents had had access to Muggle music, so he grew up listening to the radio and many different kinds of music. Glancing back at Tsubaki, he asked, "Are yae excited for owls this year?"
