"I'll be back later." She told him with a kind smile before lowering her hand. She then turned to open the door.

"Alright then. Take care" Zil said, watching her go as though it might just be the last time she walked out of a door and out of his life. He shook his head trying to shake the thought.

((Awwwww it must be love, love, love. Shadow and Zil sitting in a tree –shot- x.x ))
The first thing Saiyu’s mind could perceive as she came around was a dull aching sensation that seemed to have penetrated right down to her bones. Everything felt sore and stiff, her arms and legs were heavy and refused to cooperate with her on any level, leaving her to lie there listening to the sounds of what (she hopefully assumed was) her room. A soft murmuring, far off in one of the corners caught her attention now. It was slight and soft as if the person was whispering and yet at the same time the words were clear and pronounced. For a while Saiyu lay there, unable to do anything else, listening. As far as she could tell it was a woman, probably not much older than herself judging by voice alone. After fighting with her own body, willing herself to do more than lie still, Saiyu was slowly able to open her eyes. A white light instantly invaded her senses and with a strangled whine she closed them again. The murmuring stopped and there was a brief rustle of paper that lapsed into a tense silence. Once again Saiyu forced her eyes to open, she could now make out a ceiling but the world still seemed blurry. There was a quick rap of feet against the floor boards followed by a door being pulled open with a loud creak. Whoever had inhabited the room with her was now gone. Saiyu wasn’t really aware of the time, it could have been minuets or it could have been hours before the rushing feet came back, this time accompanied by another pair. Curious she once again pulled her eyes open, only to be met with the stern face of an old man, his hair was greying with either age or stress, she couldn’t tell and didn’t particularly care at this point in time, he nodded once before stepping back and motioning to whoever was behind him “she’s coming around, though it will take some time I want you to inform the other nurses and in the morning you can let Kyrell know”
The second voice the one Saiyu recognized as the soft murmuring gave a quite protest “but sir he asked to be informed the moment she woke up” there was a brief pause followed by a heavy sigh “I’m sure that the prince needs his sleep, he’s been busy lately so leave him for a while” The finality of his tone put an end to any further protest and once again the woman left the room, leaving saiyu with the stern old man who began poking and prodding at her sore limbs. ((I'll post with the other in a bit)

A diligent servant of the Helmshirish royal family -- having followed them to Mt. Angelo, the woman had headed over to the hospital where the former prince and his sister lay. Kyrell was coming to with a few twitches of the finger when the woman came into the room. "Mother sent you?", he asked very softly, obviously still in pain. He closed his eyes and in his vision, he could only see the slaughter from the previous night... Having killed all of his sisters' captives and bringing her home safely. Red tainted his sight but he shook his head a few times, shaking it off. "My sister... How is she?", he asked, straining to get up.
The woman told Kyrell not to get up or force himself to exert effort but the prince was as stubborn as ever. She murmured something to herself and Kyrell became curious.
"Well?" he asked in an expecting manner although not as demanding as his words used to be when everything was still peaceful.
"Your sister still hasn't woken up but she's perfectly fine", the woman said although she looked quite worried about the 'secret'.
Kyrell grunt a little, suddenly feeling the pain in his ribs that he had not felt beforehand. He noticed that his torso was bandaged up as he was injured badly and that he was wearing a hospital lab gown with clothes for him neatly folded on a table in the far corner of the room. He looked the woman in the eyes and with sincerity, he said, "I know when you are hiding something from me. If it's really important, say it now or deal with the consequences later"
The woman looked down very worried but Kyrell's words had gotten to her. She said very softly so maybe the former prince would not hear, "Ms. Saiyu woke up"
"What?!" Kyrell said, his eyes wide-open. He shot up and in a flash, he was putting on his pants and dashing out the room, practically ignoring the pain of his most recently-acquired injuries.
"Prince! Wait! Don't--!" the woman called out, chasing after him but when she got past the door, it had already been too late. "--do that..." she finished even though he was already gone.
Kyrell tore off the hospital gown as people went out of the way and yelled at him as he went through the halls and down the stairs in a flash. When he had reached the Helmshire royals' residence, he went straight to Saiyu's room. "Saiyu!", he called out, having abruptly opened the door and leaning on the door post, panting. "I-It's you", he said as he fell to his knees, the adrenaline suddenly leaving him. Again, he felt the pains of his fresh wounds only ten times worse from all the running. "You're... awake!", he cried out quietly, exasperated and his voice almost failing him.

The doctor jumped back abruptly at the prince’s brash entrance and watched as he crumpled to the floor in agony, his moustache bristled with irritation and in one swift and gentile movement he hooked his arms under the prince and helped him to fall into a nearby chair next to Saiyu’s bed.
A thick silence elapsed as the doctor excused himself from the room, muttering something about maids determined to kill off his patients. Slowly saiyu turned her head, her eyes trying to focus on, what she assumed, was Kyrell.
Her mouth moved soundlessly as she tried to respond but she was only able to produce a dry, scratchy rasp of breath. Her throat felt as if she had eaten nothing but sandpaper and her tongue weighted heavily in her mouth but she continued trying to answer him the smallest of smiles flickering across her face.

Kyrell breathed heavily and his voice was still close to failing him but he managed to say after long pauses of breath-catching, "You don't have to say anything. I know." He cupped the sides of her face in his hands and bumped his forehead lightly on hers. He closed his eyes saying, "I'm glad to have you back" After Shadow had left, things have been particularly boring. Zil was outside, sitting in a fire escape overlooking the window to Shadow's apartment. He had a sniper rifle by his side and a pack of biscuits. He ate silently until a few figures came up, covering the sun's light behind Zil. He looked up at them and said not a word.
"Playing watchdog?" one said. They were clad in black cloaks with red upper garments inside.
"You know, we didn't let you gather us just to leave at a critical point in our plan", said another.
"All because little miss got jumped a little" said another with a familiar raspy voice.
"Maybe we should play with her as well", the first one called in a taunting manner.
Zil drew his handgun from its holster and pointed it at the one who spoke last even though he did not look at them, continuing to bite what was left of the biscuit in his other hand. "Touch her... And I'll kill you"
"Have it your way. You'll come running back to us. Even you cannot do everything alone, Blood Fox" One of them that hadn't spoken before said before turning. "Come. Let us go. Our brother will join us when he is ready." The others turned to leave as well and Zil continued waiting for Shadow's return, watching if any 'shadows' will come out today so he can give them a piece of his mind.
Around the vicinity of the absolute leader's office, the chief of the regular police was able to catch up to Monica before she went into her own office, pleading her again for more forces. She sighed and solemnly rejected him once again to which, he argued that Diethelmians' lives were at stake. He did not understand that by asking this, he was putting the absolute leader at stake. "No. That's final!", Monica said, trying to go ahead, shaking the man's grip from her arm and trying to ignore him even as he followed her.

((Aww ^///^ I has the warm fuzzies -glomps Aya- heart ))
A light, hardly visible flush spread across Saiyu's cheeks as Kyrell rested his forehead on hers. His hands felt warm on her face and she felt her stiff muscles relaxing. Slowly Saiyu's eyes slid shut, she was content to let the prince rest there the sound of his breathing becoming the only thing she focused on.
The brief flicker of a smile turned into one of her signature, contented grins. She was safe and the longer Kyrell stayed there, the longer she felt his callused hands brushing against her cheek the safer she felt.
Rafael paced back and forth like a cadged animal, his right eye sliding to the monitor beside him every once in a while. It had been some time since he had picked up any substantial rebel activity and now he was beginning to get paranoid. Slowly the agitated man took a deep breath and flopped down into a dilapidated armchair, his hand stretching up to cover the medial patch the now adorned his left eye.
There was only so much Rafael could do and right now he was stuck working a desk job in one of The empires many computer labs with a blagged story and fake ID. It was far from an ideal situation, he could only hack minimal information, people were constantly watching his work and if it weren't for the fact he was already two steps ahead of them Rafael knew he would have been caught.

Kyrell began sliding down, both him and Saiyu flopping down on the bed since he was still holding onto her. In a few seconds, it seemed he had dozed off again. The pain had gotten to him. It was just that he wanted to make sure Saiyu had really awoken. The former prince was unconscious beside her, the mark of worry fading from his expression.

((Well, it's definitely love on Zil's side. It's pretty freaking hard to get my strong willed characters to fall in love, like Shadow and Hector... it's a lot easier to get my happy-go-lucky or enthusiastic characters to fall in love, like Ruby. I blame my misanthropic nature. ))
As Shadow walked down the ally, walking passed some of the gang members, who left her alone, she noticed several people following her. Still, she ignored it. As she moved more towards an empty area, she heard the vague sound of a gun being loaded, and she turned and drew her pistol aiming at the shooter. The shooter looked at her with some surprise before slowly taking the ammo back out and putting it away. Shadow then put away her gun, turned, and continued walking.

Saiyu couldn't help but let out a soundless chuckle as the weight of the prince shifted, causing him to fall beside her on the bed. Slowly she slid one eye open and glanced at Kyrell's face the deep frown that seemed almost permanent through the last few years had faded.
He once again seemed like that little boy she had met all those years ago back in the palace gardens, though the cocky air of authority and power he used to radiate seemed to have faded and given way to humility and maturity.
After several minuets of fighting with he own sore body Saiyu was finally able to get her hands to cooperate with her and very slowly she grasped at Kyrell's hand, her fingers curling securely around his wrist. Fear bubbled in the pit of her stomach, if she let go of him, if she couldn't keep a hold of some part of him she would wake up, back in that rotting pile of blankets that surfaced as her bed. she would hear the sound of the solders boots thumping against the concrete, in stead of Kyrell's soft, rhythmic breathing, as the prowled round the outside like a pack of starving wolves near a hen shed. Waiting for someone to make a wrong move.
Shaking and unable to quell the fear rising in her she slowly pulled Kyrell's hand towards her, once again resting his palm on her cheek as he other arm curled around his wrist, hugging it tightly to her. Comforted by the minimal contact Saiyu's breathing also began to grow heavy as she drifted off, further and further into sleep.********************* Jay slowly wondered down the hall, not in any particular hurry to reach the Absolute Leaders office then he had to. He wasn't in trouble and as far as he knew there was nothing particularly that he could reap the blame for but that didn't mean that he was eager to be stuck in a meeting with a man who's temper could change in the blink of an eye.
Still keeping his leisurely pace the Tactician moved ever steadily down the hall, only pausing briefly to glance out of a window or to admire some form of art work that adorned the lavish building walls. It was only as he stopped, to gaze down at the city through one of the large windows that he noticed a familiar mop of blond-brown hair bobbing down the hall towards him at a similar pace.
"Ah~ the lovely Miss. Ravenstone what brings you to this fair part of the building?"
********************* Grabbing his coat Rafael slipped out of his office cubical, grabbing a few small electrical trackers on his way down through the building.
He had half an hour to hopefully find and speak to one of the 'former' rebels (hopefully if it was Zil he could kick the ever loving crap out of him for the months worth of MIA bravado). Slinking through alleyways he fished out a small crinkled map from his pocket and pulled it open, surveying his currant location and the three brightly coloured pen dots he had scrawled across its surface. These were the last known locations he has picked up a signal in one of his brief communication scans, wether they were there or not remains to be seen.

Kyrell's hand twitched a little. Yes, he was there. In his dreams, everyone was safe -- Saiyu, the princess, the little prince, Zil, the king... Everyone. And there was no Damien to fear. And all the nations lived in peace. And in his dream, he had in his hand a ring but no one to give it to. He was shown wearing the clothes of one of his many disguises again. He threw it into the lake and resumed fishing just a short walk away from a peaceful village in Helmshire. If only it were reality, what a good reality it would have been. Monica raised an eyebrow. There were now two reasons for severe irritation in her midst. The chief of police trailing behind her... And Jay. "Oh. Monsieur. I have not seen you in weeks. I thought you were dead. I'd have liked it if it stayed that way", she said bluntly. She then rolled her eyes as the chief of the regular police continued pleading with her angrily to give him some assistance for the cities outside the capital. Monica stopped in her tracks and sighed. She was silent for a moment, trying to calm down without having to go out for a smoke. She said in an authoritative and trying-to-hide-her-irritation-ish manner, "Chief... I will not give you any more troops... End of story. If you seek to pester me any further... So help me... I swear on Diethelm's soil... That you will not live to see the light of day again" She stopped there, not even turning around to face the person she was talking to.
The man sneered and backed off as Monica rolled her eyes. He would probably talk to the absolute leader about that. Monica would not mind at all. She had her own reasons. Her focus again shifted back to Jay. "You don't look very busy. I wouldn't be surprised if you got admonished for not doing your job properly", she said coldly, flipping back wavy locks of brown hair from her face.

Jay raised an eyebrow and lent back against the wall next to the window, one hand held over his heart in mock hurt “You really can be such an unkind woman, your words hit me right here” he tapped his chest for emphasis before tucking his hands in his pockets with a mournful, over the top, sigh “How does Kimfeng ever put up with such a cold lady?”
Lazily Jay pushed himself from the wall surveying the man, who scuttled off down the hall like a scolded dog, with a mild interest. It wasn’t often that lower ranking members of the empire could wonder so freely around this building, let alone aggravate such a high ranking officer without obtaining serious bodily harm, especially Monica Ravenstone. Logging away the death comments and snide remarks he eyed the woman up and down “losing your touch in your old age are you lady Ravenstone? If that’s the best you got I would retire now” It was apparent that even months on the front line of the war had done little to dampen the tactician’s caustic personality.
Saiyu slept on, her face twitching every now and then with the tell-tale signs of someone stuck in a deep nightmare.
It was that prayer again, repeating over and over in her head, first in one language, then in another. Women and children were shrieking and crying and the raucous laughter of the guards only seemed to add to the dreadful cacophony of sound. People lay next to their loved ones starving and the stench of decay was rife through the sleeping quarters. Old and young, crippled from months of hard labour lay in flea infested cots.
The red head’s body started to shake violently as cold sweat began to bead on her forehead. Images flashed quickly through her dreams, faces she knew, people she had seen. The old man who had fallen screaming to a god that would never answer him only added to the noise that now seemed to live deep in her skin. Saiyu may have been out of the camp, she may have been safe in a bed, tucked in next to someone she held dear but in her mind she was locked, still shut behind mile high rows of barbed wire, in that camp rotting with the rest of her people.
