Vampire
There are a few different races of vampires, but first, the common characteristics of them all: They may look like humans, but they are very deadly. They are predatory creatures, much more beast-like than humans. They growl, hiss, snarl and show their teeth when angry or provoked. Older vampires are more civilized, but they still have their animal instincts. Vampires are extremely pale, yet so beautiful that they would make any human jealous. All vampires drink blood in order to survive. They will not die if they do not drink blood, as they are immortal, but this will cause them to become insane and full of blood lust. They also heal fast, especially if they feed after getting hurt. Vampires are immensely strong and fast, which allows them to catch their prey easily and the skill of this differs between vampires. Also, some vampires may have a special ability.
VampyrThis vampire differs from the other two in a very dramatic way; they are alive. They can either be born as a vampyr or created, but the fact remains that their bodies continue to work, get sick, grow, and virtually function in every way that counts. Do not let this confuse you because they're still vampires and still survive on blood. Born vampyrs grow at the rate they choose and stop the aging process when they wish to. They, however, can not reverse time or the aging process. It is speculated that the venom that runs through their system lacks, or even destroys, a vital nutrient and the body reacts - thus comes the craving for blood. There are rumours that the blood of this vampire is sought after for its taste, since the blood is still alive and they have added... flavour[?]. Also, the bite of this vampire can cause the victim to feel somewhat lethargic; the effects often increasing with the more blood that's taken.
Their eyes would be the same colour as when they were human, but when they are feeding, they become faded and change to a ghostly silver. Their fangs are visible, but it isn’t too drastic – their eye teeth are just pointier than normal. Although when they are feeding they do extend a little more. This also applies to when they haven’t fed in a while and they are very thirsty. Vampyrs are able to sleep and eat regular human food. They are allowed to walk around in the day; however, if they are in the sun for too long they will become weakened and their blood thirst will increase.
A vampyr may feed from a human, animal or vampire. If they bite into a human, the person will not turn into a vampire. They are turned if the vampire purposely (or sometimes on accident) pushes their venom out of their teeth and into the body. They have the ability to wipe the person’s memory so that they will not reVampire being bitten once they awake, as blood loss usually weakens and tires them (this ability only works through feeding). Some vampires prefer drinking only from animals since it is safer than going after a human, because they could get caught. Also, vampyrs can feed from other vampyrs. Some say that a vampire’s thirst can be quenched faster if they drink from the person they love. Even though this blood tastes better, they lean away from doing so most of the time because they would make the vampire they’re feeding from thirsty.
In order to destroy them, they must be beheaded. Also, because they're alive, this type of vampire is able to have kids. Like the meypires, the child stays in the mother for 3-4 months, but once they're born, the time it takes for them to grow normally is undetermined. They grow at the rate they choose.
MeypireBased on Stephenie Meyers’ Twilight vampires (for those of you who don’t want change XD). These vampires are, unlike the vampyrs, dead. Meypire’s diet only consists of blood, which they lack unless recently fed. They feed from humans or animals, and with every bite venom is exposed to their victim. It is very deadly and will kill animals, no matter what. Humans can be changed if the vampire does not finish them off completely and they go through 3 days of burning pain before finishing the transformation into a vampire. When changed, their bodies are 'frozen' in the state of which they were before they were changed. Their hair or nails do not grow, they cannot gain or lose weight, and their bodies are solid, described to be as hard as diamonds, and just as indestructable. [Example: As with the case of Esme from Twilight, she still had the 'rounded look' she had when she tried to commit suicide after the death of her child. In other Word to change tos, she couldn't get rid of her 'baby fat'.] Their eye colour is originally red, but the animal-drinkers develop a golden tone after about a year without human blood. They don’t have fangs, but their teeth are very sharp, and they are unable to sleep or eat human food. There are no physically harmful effects of going out in sunlight, but they do sparkle like diamonds. They do not go outside if it’s sunny so they don’t expose themselves to humans.
The only way to kill this species of vampire is for the vampire to be ripped apart and the pieces burned. If a vampire’s limb is pulled off, it can be reattached. They are unable to have children, unless a male mates with a human female. These babies develop in the mother’s womb for 3 months before being born - the mothers seldom survive. They grow up very fast and by the age of 7, should look like they are in their late teens.
RiwpireThis type of vampire is like the traditional vampire you read about in storybooks and are more in-tune with their animalistic tendencies. Sunlight is fatal to them, ignighting their skin and burning them to ash, so they're very obviously nocturnal. They have to be careful about where they sleep because that is when they are most vulnerable, any unsuspecting or curious human could expose them to sunlight and dispose of them. Over the years, most tend to seek refuge in places people tend to avoid, examples being old cemetary crypts, abandoned or dilapidated houses and buildings, and other similarly creepy places. Though most of these places are not actually haunted, the vampire would sometimes lead people to believe otherwise in an effort to keep themselves safe... and on occasion, lure an unsuspecting meal.
When going out to feed, most change into bats for convenience. It lets them travel faster, since they only have a certain amount of time to hunt and return to wherever they're staying. Another helpful ability is that they can put their victims into a trance. This helps them trap their prey easily, since, because they're not as infallable as the other species of vampire, a struggling human could cause major damage. They get little energy out of drinking from animals, so they usually stick to humans. While feeding, it is very important that they keep an ear out for the rhythm of their victim's heartbeat, to make sure it doesn't stop. Drinking from the dead is hazardous to their health, as it is poisonous and, in most cases, fatal.
These vampires also have sharp, ever-present fangs. They neither retract or extend and, unlike the other vampires, do not have venom. If persuaded or interested in changing another person into a vampire, they must first bite and drink from the person, then make the person drink from the vampire. Unlike the usual three-to-seven day change of the other vampires, this change only takes a day, or as long as it takes for the body to die. The body will stop functioning and they will need to rid their body of... for lack of a better term, bodily fluids. This lack of fluid is what causes the need for blood, and will usually start when they first awake in their new life.
They can see clearly in the dark, move fluidly without sound, and, while not as strong as the other species, have vast mental capabilities. One of these 'mental capabilities' is the above trance ability, which can work on anyone who meets their eye - if the vampire wills it. While the extent of their mind power is still being researched, we can assume that they are still very capable of defending themselves.
In order to kill them, they must be staked through the heart or exposed to sunlight. While wooden objects wouldn't necessarily kill them, unless staked, being around them will weaken them.
*Note: Even with all these different species, they all just refer to themselves as ‘vampires’ instead of their specific race name
WerewolfA human with the ability to shapeshift into a gigantic wolf. They have inhuman strength and speed, and a great sense of smell. They are able to track down things and people far better than any other species. In order to turn into a werewolf, a person must be bitten by a werewolf, or sometimes it is passed down to the next generation. If this is the case, these people are able to turn into a werewolf whenever they wish while their parent would only during the full moon. However all werewolves, no matter bitten or born, must turn into a wolf on the full moon.
HalviesHalf Human, Half Vampire ~ This occurs when one parent is a vampire and the other is human. They aren’t much different from a regular vampire, but they are weaker than them in both strength and speed. Also, they don't need as much blood.
Half Human, Half Werewolf ~ This occurs when one parent is a werewolf and the other is human. They aren't too different from a regular werewolf, but they are weaker than them in bother strength and speed. Also, they do not have to change in the full moon.
Half Vampire, Half Werewolf [O.o Werepire?] ~ VERY RARE This occurs when one parent is a vampire and the other is a werewolf. This hardly ever happens because vampires and werewolves usually do not mate [since they tend to avoid each other], but on the off chance that they do, this is what's produced. They can still eat regular human food, but when presented with blood or meat, they'll usually take the latter since they're more attracted to it. Most drink blood until around the full moon, and when their appearance gets a bit, in Dahl's terms, 'wolfish', they prefer the raw meat. This offspring is the most dangerous among all the species, vampire or werewolf alike, because they're not human at all. They can lose control completely and their minds give into their destructive instincts so much that, in most instances, they will not recognise the difference between friend, foe, or meal.
