Nym growled, "Freudian slip. Heegh doesn't have to know." Freud was one of Hell's most prominent humans, after all. The hounds, of course, knew him. Nerissa yawned, exposing her large teeth, "Make another mistake and you'll be our next project." Nym shuddered, this was one of the few times he acknowledged his mate's indifference to his life, even her raw power. One of the rare times the male hound actually knew she was more powerful than him. "I will watch myself." If he had a wolf's sensibility, he would be on his back, baring his stomach and throat to Nerissa. Nerissa shrugged, and looked as if she were about to say something. The female paused when another voice spoke. Her ears perked up. Nym froze. He bared his teeth, about to snarl at the voice, a sharp shoulder nudge from Nee stopped him. It forced him to listen. When the voice paused, Nerissa made her move, "Of course it's all we think about--we were trained by a Satan worse than Lucifer after all. We were depraved of the basic commodities of life, Hell angel. Not that you need to know nor care about our little story." Nym stayed silent. He knew better than to interrupt Nerissa when she actually decided to care about a conversation. He knew her tone was matter of fact, not at all defensive. "The hunter knows something. It may be useful, it may not be. However, the hunter knows something about the whore." Nee knew this would surprise the other hounds. They might wonder how she knew such things--at least Nym would. Long ago, Nee learned to trust her instincts, "So, are you telling us that our spy is now against us? That he is no longer killing the angels, rather, he is being protected by them?" It was rare, Nee's anger was growing. She actually seemed to care. There was never a happy ending when this female hound decided to care.

"We both can agree on that," he said making it unclear if it was of him not caring about their little story or if the current Satan was worse or both.
After Nerissa spoke he said, "I am telling you that there were no angels in the immediate vicinity, however they could have been here and you would not have known it. Did you know I was here? No. Well it's the same with them! What I am saying is that Adira and your siblings are being protected by them, so if one was here, then they'd now know at least partially who is after them if they don't know already. Your goal is to do this with as little chaos as possible isn't it? How do you plan to do that if she is so well protected?"

"Two weeks. At most."
He noted the fanciful sniper rifle she had wielded before it faded away.
"I thought I felt crosshairs on me. For a moment, I thought I was being targeted for assassination at that point for betrayal against Heegh, until the aim drifted off me."
Somehow, Sylin had a sixth sense about weapons aimed at his direction Rosemary would find out. Meanwhile, Galantros frowned at the seriousness of all of this.
"Being aware beforehand, I think I'd like to take Black to my place to be safe, but I'm not even sure if that'd be a good idea. I got a call earlier, and I learned my home was broken into. I want to help... I've been practicing going back and forth from my new form at will."
"Heegh's tracking you all, for certain. I am privy to the knowledge that the former Satan had ways of spying on key locations in almost limitless areas of the universe, through a magical artifact akin to a crystal ball. It doesn't give him complete control of what he sees, or where he would like to see exactly, but it's good enough for spying purposes. I do know that very holy grounds are restricted from it."
Dieamos: "Even I did not have knowledge of this, though I suspected something similar. How did you come to gain this information?"
"Spying on Heegh when he lest suspected it. I was extremely fortunate not to have set off any safeguards or gain attention when I discovered him doing so."
During all this, the soul guiders came up behind Adira, quiet as they were, though giving off a feeling of non-threat.
Xylanthos: "It looks like they're not giving you up without a fight, child. Isn't it wonderful to have such fast and strong friends?

Nerissa's eyes narrowed, "And why would we tell you such precious information?" A smirk came across her features. --------
Adira rubbed her arm nervously, "To be honest it is unnerving me...why would...why would people do this for me. I feel as if that is my constant refrain but I can't help to wonder...why? Am I just some stray eyeless Gnashing Crawler to them?"

"Because I am debating whether or not I should assist you in being more stealthy. Sure you have regular dog and human forms that you could easily transform into and maybe trick many people with, but not Ophelia, Banquo, and Adira and maybe even... someone you wouldn't want to know." His tone of voice changed to emphasize the last part a little. It may have even had a hint of sarcasm, but it was difficult to tell.

Rosemary shrugged when Sylin said that, "your resolve could have changed once you left."
Rosemary sighed at what GL had said, "she's getting restless from staying here... It would be both safer and and not at your home than yours with all the angels... she isn't helpless and useful at times... but..."
"Why not have her go to Jacob's? Have Dan and Daisy go too..."
"They grow so tired of being sent away when they wouldn't mind to help..."
"Yes... but I don't care, they're still going..."
Rosemary and Veni thought on the idea of Heegh being almost able to see everything while gazing into a crystal ball... the way Sylin worded it made it almost sound like random gazing... and both wondered if he knew about Jacob's fixed face and his relationship with them. "He probably can't see into Rosemary's or GL's house," Veni reasoned, "else no one would need to break into them...I wonder if he can't look into buildings..."

"'I pity you... You just don't get it at all... There's not a thing I don't cherish,'" said Sephiroth quoting something said to him. His sheer size might have intimidated her at first, but he's been around all this time and hasn't tried to be menacing. She's likely to have seen him doing activities with a girl about her size and seen her seem happy and unthreatened feeling.
"Even strays are precious in the eyes of God. Treat others as you would be treated yourself. God helps others for no apparent reason and so do people who love God. They don't force you to give anything in return, but still hope to gain at least friendship, similar treatment from others, or love back. Even if they don't receive this they will still do it. If you're able to help their efforts than you should, but while you're here and not saying that you don't wan't their help then they'll still give it. If you don't want what is freely given, you may choose to leave. No one's preventing you, no here has locked you in a room, we don't force our help on you. You've been told what might happen if you leave us willingly.

Nerissa's ears perked in interest. "Oh? And how would you assist us? I like to know what I am getting into. You can never be so sure in this world."
--------
Adira swallowed. Sephiroth never failed to impart her with helpful information, "I-I didn't say I was not grateful." She curtsied slightly, "I mean...thank you. I'm just not used to this kind of treatment. Think of it as...as culture shock. A type of culture shock that lasts for months I guess." She chuckled nervously.

"Adira is with Rosemary and Jacob. I don't know if you know that that means, but I saw them run to her rescue the over a week ago... Stop playing games before I grow annoyed enough and leave pup. I was not told I had to help you... nor were you told to seek me out else you would have visited me already... however "every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand." It's a wonder Hell hasn't collapsed by now. I can't tell you how I can help if you don't answer my first question."

Nerissa's ears pressed flat against her head, "We were told to count on the hunter." She said finally, "But...if push comes to shove, next time they go out to the city...we could do the job. Just as those people took the angel and the girl before... we would do the same. Stop at nothing. Alas, even that has its downsides."

"Do you know how they succeeded? They did not push, nor did they shove. They were very stealthy about it and did it in such a brilliant manner. With your current three forms any one of them (any one of them said in singsong) may now be able to recognize you. Plus Ban and Ophelia know your scent, you wouldn't be able to get within a mile of them without them knowing."

Nee's head tilted, "What do you mean by any one of them could know?" Nee paused, "But if you mean either Banquo or Ophelia would know...then I would say that you are correct." Nerissa nodded, " And in such a case, if that is what you do mean, what do you propose we do?" The male hounds were uncharacteristically silent. This almost annoyed Nee.

The angel approached Nerissa, kneeled and put one hand on he head and the other one under her chin and rubbed the areas almost lovingly forcing her to look at him. He looked mostly human. "Oh you poor dogs really don't know... someone really is trying to get you killed. I don't mean Banquo or Ophelia, I mean every one of your enemies helping Adira. They all probably know who you are, what you look like, what you sound like, and maybe even those with good enough senses of smell might know what you smell like. Here's the biggest secrete that isn't so secret and I'll even tell it to you for free."
He leaned her ear to his mouth and whispered to her. "Rosemary is a natural born telepath."
He pulled leaned back to the position he was originally in and started to speak normally. "If Banquo or Ophelia are with her and they suspect you are after them, then all they have to do is think about you and Rosemary can show it to everyone."

Nym's reaction was instantaneous. "Damn." He growled, "Why didn't we shut them up when we had the chance." Nerissa tried to not close her eyes with the scratch across her head and chin. It felt so good. She tried to look indifferent. She reacted internally to the knowledge that one of them was a telepath, only the hounds around her could feel the spike in her emotions...perhaps even the other two, not quite so devious hounds could as well. The emotions wouldn't pass to any empath, however. "Shut up, you idiot." Nee snapped at Nym, raising her voice ever so slightly, "Well, what do we do?" She looked toward the dark angel, "Friend or foe, you have more knowledge than us...and as much as my instincts tell me to run, I ask you to please advise us." --- In the soul fortress, Banquo's movements halted. That emotion was strong... Hate confusion, poison. He quickly turned to Ophelia Ophelia's ears pressed against her head, "Nee." She said softly, "She's dangerous when angry..." She sighed, "But we've already told the others."

"Normally that would be a good instinct, but do not worry and calm down a little. If I intended to harm you I would have when you first refused to answer my question." He moved his hand down her back towards the tail. "Their knowledge of you might end up being only a minor set back. I have an item that'll turn you into almost any creature, however if you choose human you'll look just like you would if you transformed yourself. This item however will not completely change your scent so I have something else that will do the job for a short period of time. I also have something that may or may not protect you from having your thoughts read... it depends on how loudly you're thinking and how good the telepath is. There may be angels with them who will know what you are no matter what you do... so I myself will try to prevent that if I have to."
"In return," his hand slid towards her belly, "I want a chance at having one of your pups whenever you have them. If they're with me and my job doesn't change, they'd be more likely to spend less time in Hell and maybe be in a better position if you care about that sort of thing for your child. However since there are only 5 of you in existence and you may go extinct before that, and I really do think it would be a shame for such a fine old species such as you to die off, I want to have one of the males try to mate with a common b***h in heat before we try anything against them and see what happens. There is nothing we can do while they are in that fortress, so it shouldn't be too troublesome to do. I'll even let you decide who gets to be the man to do it. Is that not a reasonable enough request? You can think it over tonight if you want... I invite you to come with me to my residence. I will give you all the food you can eat tonight, clean you up even to get rid of the sulfur smell which the scent hider would not be able to cover, and allow you to think on my offer."
