@Pinch: Confirmed! Also, yeah. Really with Kamunyak, my NCPC, young kid wandering around alone wouldn't even be really "you want candy little boy", but rather her maternal instincts going crazy and her going "ABANDONED CHILD PROTECT AND RAISE MINE MINE MINE" by seeing a kid all by themselves and adopting them into the flock as their ward, and raising them as she would her own kids should she have them...

Which is kindly, but also very firmly.

When they reach adulthood, she'd make sure they weren't giving her a bad name and would bring them things because they ARE her kids, even if not genetically, and culture means they have certain limitations. And she enforces it. Much like many old fashioned mothers would try pushing their kids into finding a good husband and staying at home and making them grandchildren to help raise, cause 'a woman's job is to stay home and make sure her husbands happy'. Only difference is, in the flock, the boys stay home where its safe, and the females bring in the food and protect the territory from hostiles.

Reason for joining: I want Fairweather to grow up and stop being such a self-obsorbed brat. I think this is a pretty good opportunity for that not only because he has to learn to be subserviant, but also because he would have the opportunity to learn from and become friends with the other males. He really, really needs some friends. Story-wise, he was convinced to join by Suria, as the beginnings of a plot between Alexia and myself because of the mix and match breeding they won.
How did he end up being captured?: The idea is that he and Suria came across each other while she was out hunting. He, being who he is, talks back to her. He's not a fan of pain at all, though, so when he realizes how badly she could hurt him, he's convinced that going back with her is a much better choice than violence.

For those of you who have harpies i was wondering to see if one of you guys might possibly rp with me Lyra getting found by the flock and being taken in. I already talked to Dragain about meeting the leader and such and she doesn't have the time to rp that particular part of the story. Either way if you could throw me a pm or let me know here that'd be great!

@marzipanz: biggrin I'm sure Rhea will fit in well -- be sure her trophy stallion signs up here as well since it can actually be a fairly good lifestyle for males that are more submissive/non-dominating to live in. (BTW, Grats on the Norp breeding!)

@Mei Silja: I'll poke around and see who has a harpy willing to capture your boy -- They may not keep him as their own, obviously, since thats actually supposedly fairly uncommon. However, if no ones available for it to be official, it can always be done by an NPC in the Harpy Guild just to get you in there.

@Saedusk: biggrin Welcome to Fairweather and (natural born) Tembrook! Taarab and Cabriole would likely love to meet them both, though they wouldnt be able to meet Tembrook unless he grew up since by the time Suria is old enough to breed, Taarab would be old enough to be nearing adulthood, and then the conception etc would mean he'd be in the Adult Males area when the foals are born, unless they get introduced to 'well adjusted' stallions as role models after they reach old enough to separate the foals by gender in the nurseries. @o@ I do hope he ends up staying though, but in the end it is up to you! biggrin

@Yami: *nod* @_@ Dragain's been busy, which is the main reason why I've been doing a lot of the officially stuff -- I run as much as possible through her before stating anything, which is sometimes why I take so long to respond. I'll ask around and see if I can get you someone to help capture you as well out of the currently NOT busy harpy mare owners still involved in the flock with personalities that lead them to capturing stallions. @_@ I might just have to make a secondary harpy NCPC to help with this sudden influx of interest, THOUGH, I suppose if Marzipanz is interested, her Rhea could bring them in.

@ LadyKirin: Glad to see you back! 8D Hopefully schools lessening up then? And yeah, isn't this awesome? There was a period of time where we had almost nothing, but after Pippi and Chaos had a basket contest for their mixer breeding, we've suddenly had a lot more RPers and whatnot show interest in joining and finding/getting soquili to join. biggrin Plus with the guild, it gives us places to enjoy NCPC (non-canon player characters -- basically harpies that do not exist at the shop and thus cannot be RPed in shop beyond simply mentioning them in conversation or having them be mentioned as an NPC to be healed/aid in a hunt or ambush/acting as entertainers in a festival, celebration, or holiday etc) and flesh the flock out further.... As well as, hopefully, clear up some misconceptions had about the flock (Such as Rape and torture being a common occurrence, or the thought that males are abused regularly, which is far from the case, and females are required to be aggressive and completely anti-male.)

Heck, there are many different types of ways they can handle or deal with stallions.

For example, my NCPC Kamunyak doesn't really care too much for Non-Harpy Raised stallions before they have adapted. And while she's somewhat neutral as she tries to pick out a partner, she will straight out go to the safe zone and request volunteers to put themselves up for inspection to be a temporary partner or put on a 'list', with each one getting a month with her before she moves to the next since the one before was obviously not currently compatible with her biologically. And its not like she'd take any stallion that volunteered, NOR would she force a stallion who wasn't interested at all to go with her -- she simply wouldn't have time or interest in trying to get one to like her well enough to be compliant.

Meanwhile, Zahraa' has Cabriole as her favored pet, and while its mainly because he has traits she wishes to pass onto her offspring and is appealing to her above most other stallions, she had developed an honest affection for him of sorts, since he IS her 'pet'. The root is good genetics, but she cares for him much like one would their favorite concubine, in a sort of Love, without it being outside of Harpy Society norms.

And then there is Glain (spelling?), one of the nannies, who is actually lifemated to a stallion. Its considered a joke by most of the harpies that she picked Shuckles, and causes confusion and a bit of frowning and disagreement, but they still love her, even if she's "odd".

So hopefully I'll be able to help out in getting people to realize it's not really too difficult for their Harpy to fit in SOMEWHERE in the Flock. 8D Like, not a hunter, dont want to have to encounter males and feel required to chase them out or capture them? You can focus yourself to the Artisan guild and stay mostly within the flock, learning arts and cultures.. Etc etc etc. XD

...I'm still trying to figure out how he managed to not be dead after gaining a harpy lifemate...when he's scared to death of them, but then, he's scared of even a leaf blowing past him if it makes to much of a noise. xD
