Seinen doesn't always focus on realism. For the most part, seinen just means it might be too graphic for younger audiences, so those gory zombie mangas are seinen and the like. They're often less focused on fantasy, I've seen, and go for survival ad the like.
I'll likely continue to watch.
Aphorism takes place at a school, where periodically, there's a temporal fissure of sorts, called God's Blight. Students go there, because the graduates always get kick a** jobs, with big pay, however they must survive the three years there, first. So upon your first day, you chose a word to battle with. Sword. Shield. Fire. Whatever. This floating island blots out the sun and releases creatures upon the school, causing a survival situation.

Mm-hm, me too. I'm curious to see what happens next.
God's Blight... it seems like there's always something concerning god in someway in manga these days. XP
Mmm... I dunno, are the characters any good or are they all cliche'?
Like, the main guy has no idea what's going on, almost gets get then gets saved (most likely by a kick a** hot chick)?

Aye, it was awesome. I haven't read the last two volumes yet. I need to buy 6 through 10.
As for God, well... There's just some cases where it seems too strange to occur without a reason, and God's among the better reasons.
Well, there's the punk, the main character's a bit of a wuss, a pair of arrogant twins. There's a decent sized cast, really.
He does get saved at one point, but eventually he usually does the saving because his mark happens to be transform. There appears to be a soul connected with him that he changes into, that knows what the hell is going on, and is pretty bad a**.
So far, I'm diggin' the change, as they've introduced a rogue student controlling a class.

I own all the manga. Now I just need to watch the correct anime. XP
Eh, true enough. Although they could just say it's something supernatural or something evil. I mean, Devil's Blight would work just as good, right?
Ugh, when isn't the main male character a wuss? Of course there's some punk and there's gotta' be someone arrogant. XP
Ehhh, I'm still on the fence about reading it. In the meantime, I'll read Saint Seiya manga. XD
