xd Shall we race then? *hops off the little rim and holds onto the side with a hand*  

[Kits Rose]

*grins and gets ready* You sure? I'm pretty fast, you know. xd  

[rodenrock]

I can hold my own. xd  

[Kits Rose]

All right, then let's go. xd *at a signal, they both take off, swimming for the other side of the pool*  

[rodenrock]

*dips head and swims quickly underwater* cool  

[Kits Rose]

*reaches the wall and looks up just in time to see Rod hit it* xd I won!

*catches herself yawning* I think I'd better head home, though... I'm getting tired. *starts climbing out of the pool*  

[rodenrock]

*pulls self out of pull and then helps her up*

*grabs a towel from a nearby chair and hands it to her before getting one*

*rubs hair first then starts drying off ther rest of body, throwing towel over shoulder and wringing water out of trunks*

*after a moment, stands beside her, eyes downcast and asks in a quiet voice* Do you wanna come over and stay the night at my place?  

[Kits Rose]

*dries off, draping the towel around her shoulders so it'll catch the drips from her hair*

*nods* I'd like that. *smiles shyly at him* I've got my dry clothes in my locker...  

[rodenrock]

*slings on shirt, not bothering to button it and slips on sandals*

*lifts her chin gently and gives her a sweet kiss* Then I shall wait for you outside the ladies' locker room. smile

*escorts her to the locker room and waits as she quickly changes, then they enterlace fingers and head off to apartment*  

[Kits Rose]

*Smok slept overnight at the pet spa, then when Amy brought Thistle in to work with her, he played all day with her. When Amy went home, Smok followed them, knowing that he'd get a good meal at Karrie's house.  

[Kits Rose]

*Kits laid back on the blanket that she'd spread on the grass earlier that afternoon on top of the hill. She, Rod, Karrie, Amy, and Mitri had spent the evening up there, celebrating the Fourth of July. Various pets had also been there on and off, as Kits' dragons liked to wander off, and Thistle and Hiro had been fighting over who got to sit on Mitri's lap. Karrie had made dinner for all of them, and when it got dark, they'd set off some small fireworks that Kits had brought. Karrie, Amy, and Mitri had gone home a little earlier, taking Velcore, Thistle, and Hiro with them. Kits' dragons hadn't been around for a while, so she assumed they'd found places to sleep for the night* People are still setting fireworks off... *ears twitch as she hears another in the distance* They'll probably be doing it all night.  

[rodenrock]

Aye. *pulls her closer* I bet well get a pretty good view from here, though.

*stare at the sky for a moment before whispering into her ear* How bout we sleep out here tonight?  

[Kits Rose]

Yeah, we will. *snuggles close to him as she sees more flashes out of the corner of her eye* Hmm... sleeping out here sounds nice. It's not too hot tonight.  

[rodenrock]

No, not at all. *nuzzles her cheek before kissing it* It's a perfect night for camping out under the stars. *whispers to her again* Happy Independence Day, Kits. *reaches up and gently tilts her face towards, then gives her a soft, sweet kiss before turning back to the fireworks*  

[Kits Rose]

Yeah, it is. *smiles* Happy Independence Day, Rod. *returns his kiss*

*the two of them watch the fireworks until they drift off to sleep*
