Taka walked down the road and turned into her apartment complex. She walked up to her door and pulled a piece of paper off the door. Another warning for noise. She crumbled the paper up and tossed it over the balcony behind her. She pulled the bag of raw meat a little more securely on her shoulder. She had picked some up at the butcher earlier today to feed her kits. She opened the door and was greeted by an abundance of broken furniture, torn up drapes, and two napping lions in the middle of the floor. These were the lions she had been teaching the way she had Koshi. Unfortunately they werent yet ready to be brought onto the field. Luna was close but shade was far from it. She sighed and shook her head, somewhat ignoring the mess. She went into the kitchen and was promptly followed by the kits. She plopped a couple of large chunks of meat into each of their rather sizable bowls. The sounds of bones being crushed filled the room as both the kits used their ample jaw muscles to cut clean through sections and devour it. She patted them on the head and set to making Koshi's meal. She looked up from the smaller bowl on the counter. Her children looked up at her with their bloodstained faces and seemed very content. She nodded her head and went to find some undestroyed section of furniture to take a rest on. There she would rest for roughly two hours before getting up and headed towards the door. She would be back this evening but needed to try and arrange the genin's first mission in other villages. Hopefully there was a village that was on a cease fire with Konoha.

Taka came inside quickly and moved into her study. She turned on the lamp at a desk and pulled out a set of costume contacts. She had these from a kit when she was a child. They were just clear lenses with markings meant for the irises. She took a paint brush and opened an anatomy book on her shelf to a picture of the human eye, blown up on the page, in full color. She too out some paper and worked on copying it over and over, trying to get it perfect. Next would come the decision of what color wouldnt stand out as odd or even uncommon for that matter. Which color would show the least if she made a mistake. No...no mistakes. She would have to do this perfectly. She worked into the night, going through countless sets of contacts until at last she made a perfect earthy brown set of irises on the final set. After painting the irises finally she took her paintbrush and slowly formed a summoning seal on her desk to use as a target to send her items from takumi once she had a run out that way. The entire process too her another hour. She finally smiled and fell foreward onto her arms, her paintbrush falling from her hands and her jar of paint knocked off her desk spilling on her floor. Koshi, luna and shade came into the room and curled up near her, being close to their person as she slept. Taka's door meanwhile opened a hair, as it hadnt been shut all the way. She heard the brief squeek but most of her valuables had been broken, and if anyone wanted her, luna and shade were very protective over her.

Taka awoke as the sun started peaking over the horizon. She sat up and frowned at the mess she made, knocking over the paints. She would not be getting her deposit back for this apartment. Not that she had planned to in the first place. She would need much more land with her particular skills, simply to raise her cubs she needed at least a field to run in. First time she took them into the public she could tell they were going to be a handful. She left them sleeping, Koshi following her into the bathroom"I have a mission today Koshi. I cant take you on this one. Normal people dont carry little furry assassins on their shoulder, understand? Look after Luna and Shade for me."The small animal let out a squeak and nuzzled its keeper. She pulled out some hair dye from inside the cabinet, bright red, and set to changing her look. She wasnt particularily happy about this, but somehow she was the youngest in her squad. Even Hina was older than she was. So shed have to play a specific role. Didnt mean she was gonna let them have all the fun. Shed need their roles too. This wasnt too difficult. She had sent for the proper clothes for Hina and she had an old lute in her closet that was probably serviceable. As she worked the color into her hair, doing her best to dye the roots she thought of Shizuka. She wondered if she would approve of her new appearance. The entire process too several hours but when she was done, her hair was bright red, which did even more to her already pale skin. She put on various pieces of jewelry and ran her brush through her hair, until she was sure she could do nothing more with it. Then she put on her new outfit. She didnt see much to it. It was rather revealing, but thats what the role went for. To be entertaining. She shivered briefly as a breeze past through the house. The door must have not latched properly when she came in last night. She turned and looked at herself in the mirror. She shrugged. At least she could give the uchiha a heart attack. She grabbed Hina's set and rummaged through her closet until she found the old instrument and pulled it out setting it on her bed. She checked the set of contacts she made for Hina and smiled. Even though it took her the majority of the night she was confident that it would be very difficult to discern from a real iris. She checked the time and found she still had a few hours yet until it was time to meet her team. So she made herself breakfast and fed her companions. She still had some time left but headed out the door anyway. She made sure to leave the latch so Koshi could open it just in case, and set off towards the gate.

Taka appeared in a rather large cloud of smoke, attracting the attention of all of her pets in the house. She patted her animals and took koshi to walk out of the house, making sure to kiss luna and shade on their massive spot between their ears. She smiled to them and walked side by side her pet toward the kages office.

Taka stepped back into her apartment for roughly an hour. In this time she checked her summoning target, to make sure it was in perfect condition, washed the dye out of her hair and changed her clothes to something a little more mature than that which she had picked for the mission. She smiled, feeling covered again before leaving her house once more.

Samuru got back to the apartment in time to see the day nurse leaving and bowed, thanking her again for her hard work. Pushing in, the first thing he saw was his mother. She was rail thin, pale and confined to a full body chair, arms and legs secured so she didn't fall out. Her sunken eyes landed on him as he came up and life entered them....rage and hatred. Her mouth started to move, drool sliding down her lips and chin before he managed to wipe it. And then nearly got bitten "Hi mom..." he said quietly, tucking the napkin under his mother's leg. She made a strangled noise at him as he sat down, checking the food that had been left by the day nurse.

Maylee meet the day nurse in the main hall of the apartments. Maylee paused for a moment as the Nurse paused and stared at the young girl. Maylee bowed her head softly to the woman and continued her way to the apartment. Maylee hesitated for a moment before opening the door. Her eyes fell onto Samuru. The tear stained face of "I'm sorry for what I said" was heavy on her features. Then she met the eyes of her mother. The hatred and rage, Maylee stared at her mother, the woman said nothing to her daughter. Maylee shut the door softly with her foot and walked over to a chair. She curled up and hugged a pillow, her mother still staring at her. Maylee sank further into the chair and pillow. "Hope you're doing better mom." Maylee mumbled. Their mother straggled something causing to drool more. Maylee knew her mother was calling her a 'good-for-nothing skank of a child'. It was the last thing her mother ever said to her in words, before turning into...well...a veggie. Maylee brought the pillow closer to her mouth. "I know, mom." She spoke acknowledged the verbal abuse given in drool and strangled noises.

Focusing on their mother's food, Samuru didn't look up as Maylee came in, mixing the food quietly. As their mother made more noises, he turned to see May sitting on the couch "There's food for you too, Maylee." he said, walking over to their mother and bending over to spoon food into her mouth. Accepting the food because she had no voice, the look in her eyes only increased, the hate and blame so very obvious.

Maylee's eyes drifted over to Samuru, who was mixing their mother's food quietly as the shriveled old hag abused Maylee in noises. Her eyes shifted away from Samuru as he looke at her. "Thanks..." Maylee stood and tossed the pillow to the couch, softly. "But...I'm not very hungry." She walked over to him and kissed his cheek. It was quick, she didn't even put her lips against his cheek but made it look like it. "I'm gonna go lay down for a bit." Maylee look at their mother. Those eyes of hatred and blame, only made Maylee sigh and step around her brother.

Maylee walked down the hall and opened the door to her room. Shutting it softly behind her with her foot. She walked over to her bed and kicked off her sandals before face planting into her pillows. Maylee curled up cuddling her pillow with her face buried into it. She was fitting back the sobs and moans of pain. She hated seeing her mother like that, hated the abuse she had to take from that woman, and hated the fact that her father wasn't around to comfort her.

Staring blankly at their mother, Samuru didn't react to Maylee at all this time either, just gave an absent nod. But once he heard her door shut...once she was gone....he leaned in to wipe their mother's cheek and whispered "Don't worry, you s**t sitting hag." his tone was affectionate, sweet and he gently wiped her mouth as her eyes focused on him, rage and hate disappearing into shock "I'm going to disconnect you from everything keeping you alive as soon as I'm strong enough to take them away from here. You'll die, alone, in a cold puddle of piss and vomit. And I. Won't. Care." he slipped another spoonful into his mother's mouth but she wasn't swallowing, her eyes wide. He tipped her head back, forcing her to swallow the mouthful "But until then, I'm going to take good care of you. So they don't have to." he put the spoon into the empty bowl and walked back to the kitchen, leaving it in the sink as he walked to Maylee's room, knocking on the door "Can I come in?"

Maylee lifted her head as she heard walking. Tears drenched her bed spread and pillow. She was about to throw the pillow at her door if it was Rakuin and yell at him to piss off. But instead, it was Samuru. "You may." She said as she sat up brushing her cheeks and trying to ride the site of her red nose. Maylee pushed her things to the corner of her bed, placing study books on her nightstand. Several items shared her bed with her. She would stay up late reading, planing routes, ways to leave this place with her brothers. The light was off in her room but then she clicked the side lamp on so Samuru didn't trip over things. She brushed her eyes and cheeks, and occasionally wipe her nose on the sleeve of her shirt. She breathing was still broken as she tried to settle herself so her mother wouldn't hear her.

Opening the door and quietly walking in, Samuru plopped down on the bed next to her, his hands on either side of him "I know you didn't mean what you said. And neither did I. I'm sorry." he said quietly, staring at her doorway, knowing their mother was out there. She couldn't do anything but....just having her there was enough I can't wait to get out of here...

Maylee pulled her legs close to her chest as Samuru sat next to her. Mentioning that he knew she didn't mean what she said at the river. And he didn't mean what he said either. "I'm sorry too." She replied in the same tone as he. Maylee followed his eyes out towards her door. Next thing Samuru knew was Maylee's arms going around him and pulling him back to where he was laying. She had her head upon his shoulder and her arm relaxed against his other shoulder. They both hated it here. Rakuin was the only one that could do things right. Samuru and Maylee were the problems. Maylee laid there for a moment before turning and looking at her brother. "I love you, Onii-chan." She whispered softly. Her eyes a very soft tone of intensity. She just wanted to remind him that someone still loved him even for the mistakes in the past. Even if it was the person that helped in making those mistakes.

Ah! Samuru didn't fight the pull, just kind of flopping back so the bed bounced in an effort to make May smile. She didn't but he wrapped his arms around her shoulders "Love you too, little sister. Someday, we'll get away. All of us. Raki won't have to pretend, won't have to be the adult or take all the stress. You won't be sad all the time...and you'll get to smile. Both of you will smile like you should." he said, his voice rough with emotion as he turned his head so she couldn't see his face. He was glaring at the air "I'm going to make it right. I swear, I'll protect you both...like I should have."
