Walking back through the town of Takumi--consciously this time--gave Miyuki much more time to think than she usually liked, although she dedicated as much of her attention as possible to searching for that familiar headband. Luna's sudden fear of her presence bothered her. It reminded her of the last six months of trying to adjust to this thing that she had become. And while Miyuki didn't believe that was what Luna's fear was directed at, it didn't exactly make her feel any better. There was no way really to hide the dark sclera of her eyes, or the fact that she'd attacked a group of nurses in her feral panic. She knew perfectly well what she was, and was constantly afraid that thing would try to take over again. That she would turn feral again.
And yet, the things she had to do to survive in this new state didn't really bother her. As a shinobi, taking a life would likely be required at some point, and once someone was dead, it wasn't like they were using their parts anymore. She had to keep thinking of it that way. It was just people like Luna that she was afraid to hurt.
Managing to only get lost once on the way to the village gates, Miyuki found herself pleasantly surprised upon getting there. Coming into the village from outside, a green-haired girl maybe around her own age wore the Kiri symbol on an armband around her upper arm. And while Miyuki couldn't give a name to either her or her male companion, both looked vaguely familiar. Maybe she'd seen them training at the academy or something. Her smile returned full force at her luck, and she skirted the crowd to approach them. "Finally, I found you! Er..." She started off enthusiastically, and then it occurred to her that they had no idea who she was. "Uh... Sorry. My name is Miyuki Fujimoto. I'm a graduate of Kirigakure's academy. But I seem to have accidentally ended up in Takumi." Yet again she was reminded of how stupid it sounded to say 'accidentally' but she didn't exactly want to announce to the world that her feet just kind of carried her places sometimes, thanks to an insatiable wanderlust. She gave a nervous laugh. "Ahaha... You all are probably busy but, um... I don't suppose I could travel with you back to the village?"

As the pierced up counterfeiters neared the gates houou came to a screeching hault and slammed his hands together. Suddenly a massive net of wood emerged from the ground, blocking the path of the two fleeing me. The moment the wall was erected, Houou immediately began sprinting at the two men. The men didn’t seem to realize that the wall had come from the man giving chase, taking advantage of their confusion, Houou places his hands together forming the serpent seal once more, and waited for the perfect moment.
Then opportunity struck, both of the counterfeiters had turned in response to houous advancing footsteps. The moment their eyes were on him, Houou came to a screeching halt. The men had foolishly turned their backs on the wood wall that houou was now freely manipulating. In Houous attempt to capture the men in the net, the wood from the wall began to stretch out around the two men, leaving them nowhere to run but toward houou. Unexpectedly, the counterfeiters had that very idea. They drew their blades and began sprinting in houous direction, with blood lust in their eyes. These men were not ordinary pushovers. They had resolve and were obviously skilled fighters to boot. This took houou slightly off guard. Attempting to retreat Back a few steps, Houou tripped over his own feet, a rookie mistake letting these men startle him. If houou didn’t think fast, these men would skewer him.
Houou was going to fall for sure but this was not the end of him. Instead of releasing his seal and catching himself, he would take the painless fall, and land on his back, but not before creating a counter attack. As he was falling to the ground houou manipulate the wood from becoming a net to capture, to becoming spikes to impale. This was houous first time attempting a technique like this one and it showed. His aim wasn’t only off, it was nonexistent. The spikes struck the ground in a scattered and random fashion. Throwing the counterfeiters off their balance and forcing them to turn around and dodge or swing at the spikes, shattering the weak wood. The last spike struck just between houous legs as his back finally touched the floor. With he wind barely knocked out of him, Houou immediately rolled backward with the momentum and popped up in a squared position, one foot planted on the ground and in knee supporting the rest of his weight.
Them two men had been blocked from houou by means of several spikes planted into the ground. However, this did not stop them. They violently began swinging their blades and breaking all of the spikes between them and Houou. He was at a loss for what to do next, he had the option of using large scale Jutsu that would handle these guys easily, but he was too concerned with innocent bystanders getting caught up in the crossfire. Houou knee it was too troublesome to try and face them both at once so he placed all his focus on one of the enemies. Placing his hands together, Houou formed 3 have seals and summoned forth roots from the ground. They stretched and they cooled after the man Houou had his focus on. The man proved yet again to be very skilled and determined, he slipped out of Houous clutches several times before the roots were effective. Finally one root wrapped firmly around the mans ankle, forcing him to stop and try to break free. However, it was too late. The other roots had already begun to overwhelm him wrapping him in a cocoon of wood. What houou had forgotten to do was make a countermeasure for the other advancing enemy. The man has successfully broken through houous mokuton spikes and was closing in on houou at an insanely fast speed. As houou completed wrapping up one of the enemies he prepared to make a retreat, in order to regroup and face the remaining enemy. But houou may not be fast enough to avoid this mans speed...
“Phoenix, search her for any Ryo, and confiscate it. We can’t trust that she will return to the shop and pay her bill. I have eyes on her comrades.”
By the time Artemis caught up, Houou was on the ground with one opponent in a wooden cocoon and the other charging him. "Oh hell no," she growled as she raced closer, hands together to make a seal as she inhaled. Her chakra expanded in her lungs, then shot out through her mouth in the form of ash, which expelled as a thin stream until it extended past Houou. At that point, it expanded into a proper cloud, causing the charging thug to skid to a stop to try and avoid the ash cloud - though he wound up in the middle of it anyways.
Artemis clicked her teeth, activating a huge explosion as the gunpowder-esque material ignited. The punk screamed as he was burned and launched backwards at the same time. Artemis used the opportunity to crouch beside Houou, offering a hand to help him steady himself. "You've gotta be careful, bud!" Her maternal instincts kicked in as she brought a hand up to mess with his hair, biting back a lecture. After a moment, she relaxed. "Sweet cocoon though.... You ready to turn this idiots in?"

Houou breathes a sigh of relief as the last counterfeiter stopped his advance and attempted to avoid Artemis’ jutsu. He was even more thrilled to se that she had defeated the man with one powerful bro. Shishin’s dazzling Phoenix never ceases to amaze houou, she was the embodiment of her given team name. Powerful and majestic like the Phoenix, but when I’m partly she emitted a light brighter than anyone on the battlefield.
As she ruffled houous hair, he felt oddly at ease. Taking her outstretched hand she assisted in lifting him to his feet as he dusted himself off.
“No need to take them in, the mission only stated that we were to retrieve the Ryo that they swindled out of the locals. That’s where our mission ends.”
Walking over to the two fallen counterfeiters, Houou began searching them for any monies that had on their person. It seemed that these guys had quite the operation going on. Between the two of them, they had enough Ryo to eat for months. Houou pocketed it all into a pouch, making it easier for delivery at the city hall.
Finally houou places his hand together and cleaned up the mess he had caused at the gates, he would have the locals angry with them for blocking the path and creating unneeded traffic. All the wood became to slowly sink beneath the dirt. However, Houou would leave the cocooned counterfeiter tightly wrapped up as punishment for his nefarious deeds. He would get out eventually.
“we should get this package back over to city hall before they close.” houou said glancing from the crowd at the gate back to Artemis.
Artemis grabbed the pouch Houou had collected the ryo in. "That's what I call justice, baby~" she purred with amusement. It didn't go unnoticed that he left the bandit locked up in the cocoon, though she played nice and bit back a comment about bondage. "To city hall!" She announced, walking away from the scene of their quick battle.

Well... surprise? While Kagerou searched for those that were to be escorted, she was surprisingly approached by someone completely unexpected. "Oh, hello?" she turned to see who was talking to her and casually returned the greeting in that short first pause, the one following the "er"ing. It was meant to be an encouraging, "oh," and the smile that accompanied it supported the picture.
Kagerou found herself face-to-face with yet another set of interesting eyes. A pretty shade of pink that would have looked bright on a white sclera framed by a sclera of black, . Ears listening as attentively as Kagerou watched, even when she gave a short glance to Takeda's eyes before returning over to observe in detail in that ever so light way Kagerou had grown so accustomed to doing over the years, her mind pondered on the name. It sounded so familiar... Kagerou gave another quick glance at Takeda's eyes, which coincidentally had the same dark sclera, . Curiosity weaved into Kagerou's welcoming smile, specifically into her eyes, widening them ever so slightly as they fixated on Miyuki's face and eyes.
By no means did Kagerou feel the least bit annoyed at Miyuki talking to her or requesting to travel together. She didn't mind extra company or the opportunity to meet new people, and Miyuki seemed like someone she could trust. Okay, yes, her story was super suspicious as was her timing. However, Kagerou trusted Kirigakure's outer and inner security system to keep out any impostors. She recognized in the first few moments that the biggest danger of Miyuki would be on the way back to Kirigakure as a cloak-and-dagger that would attack them from the inside. However, Kagerou was certain she had heard the name somewhere before, somewhere in the hospital. That likely meant that she was one of Kirigakure's many residents to be injured in and recuperating from the Sero incident. A lucky match of a name? Perhaps... However, there was something else about her. Something like "like attracts like," but more just "like recognizes like." Kagerou felt willing to bet on Miyukki not being the kind to enjoy hurting others, which was synonymous to her betting that Miyuki was really just a girl wanting to go back home. Kagerou couldn't just leave her like that in that case.
Since she was young, basics like the fragility of trust had been drilled into Kagerou. Successfully, too. Kagerou knew all the theories and explanations, both for how it would be done to her and how she could carry it out herself. That wasn't to say that she liked what she learned. She just also understood the risks of taking along Miyuki if this was all an act. For instance, if Miyuki was someone like Kagerou's mother, then what Kagerou was going to do right now was the equivalent of checkmate. However, constant paranoia was a boring and stressful way of going through life.
Weak as ever when it came to helping someone, Kagerou warmly welcomed, "Of course, Miyuki, you're free to tag along. That is, if my companion over there, Takeda, is okay with it?". She looked back at Takeda, the third time since Miyuki started talking, and received confirmation. Following up on that cue, Kagerou added on a disclaimer, "Although, we'll have our hands full with a couple people we're supposed to be guarding with a third party, so I hope you understand if we're a little busy on the way back." Smiling and happy with her simple answer, Kagerou stopped there. Her answer hadn't taken long at all to arrive and that smile of her's had never been under threat of faltering, either. That was just how easily Kagerou flipped through these thoughts in her head, whether it was because they didn't worry her as much as they might seem to others, because Kagerou was just so used to this sort of internal debate, or because of something else entirely.
Maybe, as a Chuunin now, she should have done what she had done in the Mizukage's office earlier, step out of her comfort zone to ensure a better conclusion. At the office, she had doubly (or was it triply?) overstepped where she personally felt comfortable as a genin because she had felt it so important to make sure the Mizukage was reminded to get checked out. Then, at the very end, the overstepping had led her to maybe getting a bit too familiar and casting a series of eisei techniques on the Mizukage without permission. Perhaps that was a... mistake. Who was she kidding? It was definitely a breach of protocol and respect for superiority. If her mother ever found out... No, worse. If her grandparents found out... Alas, no helping it now. Here, it might be important enough to ensure the safety of her mission and teammates to step out of her comfort zone again and more thoroughly set up precautions and drill Miyuki. Then, if it turned out that Kagerou had been wrong, she could just walk past and forget the mistake. It would certainly be an easier mistake to forget, just as it was easier to move forward from the mistake of healing the Mizukage without permission than if something had happened to the Mizukage because he procrastinated on treatment. However, she didn't want to. More specifically, healing and helping was one thing but being suspicious and mean was another. As a Chuunin now, she would need to be ready to take responsibility for such decisions.
"Oh," Kagerou suddenly piped up again, apparently having remembered something. She had forgotten introductions. Well, she had already said Takeda's name, but that wasn't the same. Quick to fix the problem, Kagerou motioned to herself, "That's right. Our names. I'm Kagerou," then to Takeda, "and like I said, this is Takeda. We will be meeting with two clients, performers, and someone who goes by the name of Turtle to help us protect our wards." Would Miyuki notice that not a single last name had been given? Well, that was just Kagerou's usual way of introducing herself.

Past the starting two, she must spend a total of 5(n-3)+10 energy split evenly between chakra and stamina for each additional target; n = number of targets. Odd energy costs are split with 1 more point of stamina than chakra. This additional cost cannot be reduced or refunded.

Every time the green-haired kunoichi glanced at her companion, Miyuki couldn't help but do the same. Something seemed familiar about him but she couldn't quite place it. It was the dark sclera, which were not unlike her own. They were just dark gray, rather than her dark magenta. Still, she couldn't help but wonder... Still, if possible, her smile broadened when the pair agreed to let her travel along with them. That solved the issue of getting back; the only other issue was that she would owe them, more than likely, and she had no money. Or even if they decided she didn't owe them, she'd still feel like she did. "That's fine! I won't be a bother, I think. I'll help if I can." Maybe if she could help, she wouldn't feel the need to repay them. Ideally, though, she just wouldn't wander off. That would be great.
As for the companion, well, maybe she could pester him on the way back to the village. For the moment he didn't seem to have much of an interest in speaking.
A brief, pleasant silence passed between them before the green-haired girl realized she hadn't introduced herself. She gave her name as Kagerou, and introduced her partner, Takeda, for a second time. No surnames were given, but others weren't exactly as forward with their speech as she was. They were waiting for their clients to arrive, which meant that they must have been on a mission. Miyuki didn't expect them to give any more information regarding it. After all, most missions were sensitive matters, and she was already causing a hindrance without proof that she was from Kirigakure. She could have been from anywhere, so it was a surprise Kagerou found it so easy to trust her. But then, she also didn't know how experienced the girl was. Miyuki herself didn't have much in the way of defending herself, except her own instincts and the parasite that inhabited her. But she wasn't particularly inclined on revealing that to anyone just yet. Clasping her hands behind her back, Miyuki turned away from the pair to observe the crowd for anything outstanding while they waited.

After a bit more of waiting, Kagerou muttered something to Takeda along the lines of "wait here, I'm going to go look around," and briefly vanished into the crowd.
Neither of the two Jiongus, both known and unknown, needed to wait long for Kagerou to reappear, and with two others in tow, the performers in question. Takeda would recognize them by the description Kageoru had provided. Miyuki, for obvious reasons wouldn't. "Found em!~" Kagerou sang out an announcement once she was in view of the two, which wasn't very far from them since there was a crowd and all. "However... No sign of Turtle...," she admitted, biting her lower lip in thought. She had to decide, though, that, "But we can't waste more time, so let's go."
Simple, sweet, and a little sing-songy because Kagerou felt like it. That was how she gave the equivalent of orders. There were just a few more touches, details regarding positions. If only she had known for certain that Miyuki wasn't a spy, then Kagerou could have relieved some of the burden by directly requesting her aid in the mission to make up for the enigmatic Turtle's absence. However, that couldn't be helped. With details settled, introductions made, and so on, the group was ready to leave, and so they did.
