Letting out a sigh as the little tiefling set himself about becoming a snack again, the warden decided that if anyone was rushing in, all he could do now was make sure they weren't left alone. Moving out to the side he cleared a space, keeping an eye out to judge the distance from the others- for the moment they still at some space at least.

Boots echoed as he stormed across the floor, coming wide, not enough to flank the roper, but leaving some space between himself and Ruin for the others to get in as he swung the hammer hard at its side with a satisfied grunt at the contact- the thud echoing and morphing into a low, ringing growl in the air around him, primal energy lacing into the creature.

[Move 6 to U17]

[Mark R2.]


((Errata seems to indicate free actions can be taken after a charge. If this is more specific and precludes Nature's Wrath, please disregard.))

MOVE + STANDARD ACTION

"Wh- Ilikan!" Revenge would suddenly call out as the Warden charged forward against the creature's flank. "Ilikan, you had one job, and that was to guard Irene!"

Loosing an annoyed sigh, he'd mutter, "Ugh, humans." Quickly realizing his faux pax, he'd turn his head towards Irene. "Er... no offense."

Readying his shield and drawing his sword, he'd cautiously near Irene, keeping her behind his back in case any of the pieces of stone around theme was also a Roper.

The Roper struck by Ruin hisses and reals in pain, only to be further bludgeoned by Ilikan as he charged forth.

Irene, was already looking rather excited and was beginning to pull drawing materials from her pockets. She would respond to Revenge. "Oh, don't worry about me. I know how to stay out of danger. I'm going to go dart behind the stalagmites over there and begin my drawings!" Irene would motion to the collection of stalagmites next to them to the left. "Besides, I think your friends are going to need your help. I think I see two more of them out there."

And, almost as if on queue, and eye opens on the of the stalagmites in the back of the cavern. Two tentacles whip out of its side and fly across the cavern towards Ilikan, one of which hits and wraps around him. It begins to squeeze him tightly, (15 Damage, Grabbed)

The roper in front of Ilikan and Ruin lashes out at both of them with its tentacles and manages to grab Ruin in its clutches (17 damage). It circular tooth filled maw opens wide in anticipation.

((The entire party is now aware of R2 and R3, Kuori is up!)

"Anyone like fried calamari?" The tiefling spoke as he channeled his hatred into reality and turned it's flames on to R2(?)

Infernal Wrath 4 Fire damage to the one who hurt Ruin.
Encounter. Fire
Free Action Close burst 10
Trigger: An enemy within 10 squares of you hits you
Target: The triggering enemy in burst
Effect: The target takes 1d6 + Charisma modifier fire damage

Kuori hoist her Morningstar into the air, "Release yourself by hitting the tentacles, they're sensitive." The ground beneath the Roper trembles and cracks as purple light burst from the cracks and burns. [22 to hit vs reflex for 11 Radiant damage]. She dive behind the rocks, keeping the closest roper in her sights. "RUIN IT RUIN! RUIN IT LIKE YOU RUINED THIS PLAN!" [Ruin has combat advantage of R2 now] She hunkers down with her shield, knowing she could trust the other tieflings to come into the fray.

Move to W17, Lantern still on belt.

Valac not to be one left out of a fight charged in after Ilikan his Vanguard blade raised high trying to bring it down on the roper.

Irene dashes over to Y9, were she peaks through the stalagmites to begin her drawings. (Irene now has partial cover)

Embued with the power of The Wounded One and Kuliak, "There is no plan when Revenge is confused. Someone had to help him out with the differences between stalagmites and ropers." Ruin would argue, plunging his enhanced blade into the beastie. "Eat me."

Requirement: the blade of annihilation.

Illikan held his shield up at the tentacles lashing out from the roper in front of him, letting out a grunt and looking down as he felt something snap across his leg- the far one was able to reach him from its position it seemed, grabbing him from behind.

Lifting his hammer, the warden turned it over- and slammed the top of it into the ground, more like a spear or staff than anything- on impact the cave floor around his feet shattered, ground churning gently under Valac's feet while exploding in violent shards of stone, bursting atop each other up the one roper's body as if trying to pull it into the ground, and likewise shards snapping and flying at the tentacle wrapped about his leg.

He readied to move way from the far roper, hoping to put himself in range of only one at a time, but seeing Valac take the space grunted again, moving closer instead- better that the beast in the back have its attention on him than the tiefling.

"Right. Kuori said there were four, so be careful of the last one," Revenge would say to Irene, not turning to look at her but hearing her footfalls as she moved to cover.

Turning his blade ever so slightly in his hand, he would advance towards the engaged Roper. Slowly at first, but picking up speed as he went.

As his plated boots thundered across the rocky floor, he would lift his sword high, the blade appearing to suddenly catch afire. Though it was not true fire, but silvery energy of his goddess, empowering the ensuing strike. As he reached the target, he would slash downward, the light bursting out from his weapon as steel slashed stone, revitalizing his allies.

As Ruin burns the roper for hitting him Kuori lashes out with a flash of holy light that strikes it across its large horrid looking eye, However, it does manage to parry Valac's attack with one of its tentacles as he charges it.

Ruin tries to burn the roper once again with his summoned blade but the monsters resists his attack.

Ilikan causes the ground to explode in shards underneath his feet, shredding into the adjacent ropers feet. Unfortunately, his attack misses the tentacle grabbing him and it firmly holds him in place.

Revenge charges forward with his sword blazing in the light of his goddess and plunges it deep in the side of the roper where it lets out a scream.

The surrounded Roper barks something out in a strange language that only Valac understands. Another Stalagmite to the right in the cavern springs to life and shuffles forward. It can't seem to reach anyone around R2 but notices Kuroi crouching towards the rocks. It lashes out at her with two tentacles, both of witch strike her and wrap around her, (first attack crit, 20 damage, second attack 15 damage for 35 total)

The Roper in the back of the room lets go of Ilikan and instead lashes out at Valac and Ruin Its tentacles wrap around the two tieflings and squeeze them, (17 damage each and grabbed)

The last roper lets go of Ruin and focuses its entire fury on Ilikan. The Warden manages to shield off one tentacle but is struck by the other. (14 damage)

Minor Action: Healing word on self - Heals: 2d6(9)+14+2+2+1 = 28HP
Grants a saving throw thanks to Mark of Healing, but can't use it.
Move Action: Per rules, each additional grabber adds +2 to the DC, but I still only make one check to escape both. 26 to escape!

Standard Action: ASTRAL SEAL - 17 vs reflex. If successful, R2 takes a -2 to all defenses until the end of Kuori's next turn and the next person to hit if gains 4 hp, and can make a saving throw.

(ALL ALLIES GET A +2 TO ATTACK ROLLS UNTIL MY NEXT TURN.
The next person to HIT R2 gains 4hp , and can make a saving throw.)


Kuori smiles as the tentacles wrap around her. With one hand she squeezes tightly on the sensitive bits and attempts to slip out to run a bit further away, thankfully ropers were slow, but this was about to take a nasty turn. It took a bit too long to get out and she knew the she'd just be grabbed again, she was effectively locked in place until this roper was dead or decided to ignore her, but as soon as she could she would run to Revenge's side.

Speaks in Undercommon, "Be bound you scum!" With a quick motion of her hand a magic seal appears in the air before her and she aims it towards the ropers eye. It doesn't hurt the creature, but it creates an opening. She mutters a prayer of healing for herself and shouts, "Come on guys, lets get this one down before its friends get too close!"

"Get off!" Yelled Valac tearing the tentacle from the far away roper.



Turning back to face the roper in front of him Valac swings at it a bit feebly by his standards. His yelling making up for the lackluster impact.

Kuori breaks free of the Ropers bonds as the power gifted to her by her god causes her wounds to magically heal. Unfortunately, after getting stuck already in the eye once the roper was getting better at protecting itself and turns to avoid Kuori's attack. The seal harmlessly strikes the cave wall behind it, leaving a slight burn mark.

Valac, through his shear strength, free himself from the ropers tentacle. He then strikes the Roper with a glance blow to its armored side. (Unfortunately, no heal since Kuori's attack missed )

Irene continues to scribble away furiously on on her drawing pads and shouts to the party. "They are speaking in primordial! I think the one to the left is trying to get his buddies to help him."

Dropping his blade; Ruin would take a minor action to cast a spell, before rummage tough his bag. "Irene what is roper for..." He said tossing the sleep grenade. "...Nighty, night?!"
