"I suppose just a moment wouldn't hurt..." Daemon said, a small smile on his face as he gently took the baby in his arms, suddenly wishing for a do-over with Milly.

((Unless you want Anise to blow her cover right there, we agreed she was going to be hyper intelligent, not psychic. xd As for everything else, I really have no idea. sweatdrop ))

{Then neither. Eh, Anise could be a human hugbox then?}

Anise gazed up at Daemon with curious eyes, wondering what he hid in that head of his. She seemed to be analyzing him, almost. But everyone knows that normal babies can't do or think s**t, so to most it would've seemed like their imaginations running wild once again.

"It's nice to meet you, Anise." Daemon said with a slight chuckle in spite of himself as he smiled down at the baby in his arms.

"She's a pretty little thing, isn't she?" Larai said with a chuckle as well, noticing how much more cheerful little Anise seemed to make Daemon. She couldn't help but wonder about if he was still serious concerning the 'avoid children as much as possible' thing.

"I guess babies really can make everything better." Daemon said as he smiled at Larai. He was so sure she'd starting crying as soon as he touched her, but if Anise was okay with him, then there was no trouble.

{The sammich one was the tastiest. Ah, how I love the taste of evil and terror in the morning!}

"I'm glad you're feeling better, then! I was almost starting to worry." Larai replied half-jokingly, grinning back a cheery one.

"What? Was there a moping demon I was unaware of?" Kai joked with a smirk.

"You have no idea..." Daemon muttered.

((Much shopping and crap today. Won't be on much, nor will there be DnD shenanigans to share.))

Before any conversation could continue, Mala came down, card deck in hand and ready to play. "So, who thinks they have a chance against me?" she purred.

"Maybe Kai and Larai. I can't believe we've been married for fifteen hundred years and I've never beat you once at poker." Van said with a chuckle as Daemon handed Anise back to him.

"What can I say? I've been playing it all my life." Mala said with a smug little smirk, slipping over to sit beside Van. "I'll shuffle."

((Whee! One hour to kill before I have to leave for another five hours. ~w~ ))

"If we're not playing for money, can't we at least have a punishment for the loser?" Kai asked in an attempt of innocence.

"Considering one of those losers is pregnant, I'd have to say no." Van said simply.

{Okay, awesome.}

"I agree with your father. Once he's eliminated, then we can start taking hostile bets." Mala said in a simple and somewhat reprimanding tone, as if telling Kai to only eat his dessert after he's finished his dinner.

"Remind me again why I agreed to this...?" Daemon said dropping his head and cards to the table in defeat some time into the game.

"Because you wouldn't have more debt to wrack up. At least it's good to know there's someone else around here I can actually beat." Van joked. He'd been playing with everyone a lot longer than Daemon, so he still had a slight advantage.

Mala and Larai still had no problems, and were doing considerably well. Of course, both were obviously cheating, but neither had yet to be caught. If anything, Mala and Van had taught Larai well how to properly time her ill deeds.

"That, and playing with a bunch of pretty young ladies and Kai is plenty of fun."

"I'd make a joke about strip poker, but I'm afraid I'd get hit for my troubles." Daemon joked with a chuckle.
