The Masque of the Red Death [Open and ACCEPTING!!]

Scarlet just stood there for a bit and sighed again. She went into her room and shut the door. She sat on the bed and put her head in her hands. "Why...did i do that...?"

"I'm sorry Miss Anna. Lets continue our conversation," Nicholas said pleasantly and she went on to show him the map. All the while as she explained, Nicholas was thinking of something else.

"Sir Nicholas? Are you listening to me?" Anna's voice called him back to reality.

"I'm sorry. What were you saying?" He asked again. Anna huffed in annoyance.

"Sir, we are on an uncharted island on the middle of the North Atlantic Sea. The nearest country to us is France but it is littered with infected people. Did you listen to all that?" she asked. Nicholas nodded absentmindedly.

"Miss Anna, can you let me rest tonight? I have heard what I needed and now I wish to rest," Nicholas said. Anna bowed with a little sadness in her eyes.

"Of course. I'll leave you to think about her highness," she said and she left without another word leaving a shocked duke behind. Nicholas gaped at what he heard. He was surprised that she knew what he was thinking about.

Scarlet took a deep breath and left the room. She walked over to the edge of the boat and looked down at the water. The moon was being reflected by the water and that calmed her some.

Nicholas lay on the bed and continued to think.

What is this strange feeling in me? Why does it revolves around her highness? Why can I not stop thinking about her? Why her?

She sighed and looked up at the moon. Why does he linger in my thoughts like this?.....hmmm...

I had better sleep...thinking of this would not lead me to an answer...

Nicholas let Scarlet's face linger in his mind for a while till he was swept by unconsciousness.

Scarlet turned around and headed back to her room. It had gotten cold and she was a bit sleepy by now.

"Sir! Wake up, sir! Everyone is called to the docks! Something happened there!"

Nicholas jolted from his sleep when he heard loud knocks on his door. He barely heard what his assailant had said so he hurried to the door and was met by a guard when he opened the door.

"What is it again?" He asked heavily.

"Something happened to the boats and now only the ship that Sir Jack owns is use-able. All the others had been sunk or drifted to the sea last night," the guard answered. I nodded and he left. I got my clothes and went to the dock in a hurry.

Scarlet was in a deep sleep.

"Princess! Wake up! Ye boats are all down!" Jack banged her door.

Scarlet stirred in her bed and finally awoke. She was dressed and opened the door, "What are you talking about sir?"

"All your boats had been sunk or drifted overnight. I dunno who did that but I suggest you go see for yourself," Jack said in a hurry and he left Scarlet to go to the docks.

Scarlet rushed over to the docks and ran over to Nicholas, "What happened?" She asked worried and she hoped that he knew what had happened.

"I don't know either but I was told that all the boats belonging to us and Jack are either gone or are useless. I came here to see if it were true and look, only his ship is intact," Nicholas said as he pointed to the numerous boats lying on the seabed. The water was clear so they could see the sunked boats clearly.

"Who would do this?" She asked knowing there wasn't an answer at the moment.
