"Would it be too much to ask if we could start training now?" Wayne put his hands behind his head, "look, if you're so upset about being attacked, the least we could all do is put the effort in to get stronger, y'know? So even if your family gets slaughtered because you didn't listen to a warning, at least you won't be hurt."

He directed most of that towards Henrietta. But said to Sal:

"Plus I've always wanted Hitmonlee to learn Blaze Kick. It's been a weeklong dream of mine for him to kick fire at things. Please? Can we? It won't take long, he just needs to learn the basics."

And with that, Wayne brought Hitmonlee out, who sized up the two girls and was very silently dismissive.

Henrietta

"I'm fine," Henrietta told Salieri. "I'll just win my battle at the gym to get the money." She looked at Wayne and nodded with an apologetic face. She didn't wanna make him angry, especially if he had a point.

Returning to her Pokemon, with the idea that Plasma could target her family, she began to consider her options as she sat down again, trying to make the crystals appear again - and failing.

"Get back to training," she called out to her Pokemon and they set to it.

Kero

Kero was up in the air, after Jean-Pierre. His sword at the ready, swinging as he got close enough. He gave the order, as a superior officer to Kiedis. Cause, you know, Pokemon don't really get rank.

"Go after the Mienshao."

Blastoise watched the oncoming Druddigon, preparing his next move. He focused as the target came, preparing his next attack. Aura dispersing into water, it'd soon fire up, rocketing Hydro Pumps from the oceans surface at Druddigon from below.

Jean

Jean-Pierre turned as Kiedis spun around toward his back, raising a hand to block the incoming slash. He angled it as the claws hit the suit, clanking against the steel blades hidden inside the forearm and moving no further.

Before Kiedis could make his escape, as the momentum began to slow, he released the mustard gas from the dispenser, into the Pokemon's face.

Druddigon, meanwhile, had no ability to fly. The Hydro Pump hit home into his stomach, halting his forward momentum and he roared, slamming a fist into the stream and vibrating it apart with an Earthquake. Now descending into the sea, he released a Charged Beam at Blastoise.

Gorm

Mienshao created his targets, throwing aura sphere's behind him with Blastoise as the target. Once the dual spheres switched directions, he'd place his feet upon them, using them like boosters to simulate flight as he charged toward the duo of Pokemon, another sphere charging in his palm.

Gorm caught Jump's leg. It wasn't some overly complex maneuver.

"You're incapable of masking your aura." An announcement that ran alongside his next attack, as he gripped the ankle, he pulled, aiming to pull Jump into a fist that was extending toward his gut.

The other three attacks may had landed, but they didn't appear to do much. Gorm himself, a constantly regenerating monster, did not appear to take damage at all - it was part of his intimidation. Jump was not so lucky as to have the ability to shrug off hits, or the endurance of surviving lethal blows with instant regeneration backing him. Essentially, Gorm could appear as an approaching wall of doom to those that fired attacks at him endlessly.

Salieri

Sal shrugged and repocketed her cash. "Suit yourself," she said to Henrietta, before turning back to Wayne and Hitmonlee. It had been a while since she had the pleasure of teaching a familiar Fighting type.

"So you want to learn how to set her leg on fire, huh? Alright, first show me your hottest kick." The Battle Girl folded her arms and waited for Hitmonlee to demonstrate his interpretation of her request.

Jump and Kiedis

Kiedis saw Jean activate a dispenser on his arm. Before it could spray the gas, Kiedis brought his mouth closer and chomped down on the dispenser's opening. This would seal it closed, causing the mustard gas to buildup without a point of exit.

The bear didn't like being given orders, not even from Jump. But to fight another pokemon right now would be nice. Machines weren't as satisfying to beat up. He growled in response before jumping off of Jean and running off towards the cliff to join in on the pokemon battle.

Jump was not having as easy of a time escaping his predicament. He couldn't start vibrating to phase out of Gorm's attack while the Sage already held him, or he risked mixing their molecules together. That would be messy.

That's right, he's a healer. Gotta be smart about this.

Jump brought his arms to block the punch, which would have otherwise sank into his stomach. He vibrated his caught leg at a lower frequency to slide out of the grip and took a step away from Gorm. "I'm not the one wearing a mask, yo. You're the pretender."

Jump disappeared, and a large circle carved itself near instantly in the beach around Gorm. The sand whipped up as a vortex surrounded the Sage, created by Jump running high speed circles around him.

Inside the vortex, there was no oxygen. Gorm would be asphyxiated if couldn't get air, and Jump would keep up the swirling choke hazard until he was either compromised somehow or Gorm passed out. Whichever came first.

Kero

Kero, moving through the air at extreme speed, saw his opening. The slash connected, pushing Jean-Pierre slightly off course combined with Kiedis' previous assault and he made to close the distance. All he needed was one touch, to disrupt the whole thing.

Blastoise Dove underwater, swimming rapidly an then coming upward, out of the water coated in a sphere of water, an Aura Withdraw. He made to crash into Druddigon from under the Charged Beam.

Jean

The dispenser crushed by little teeth, but it changed nothing. With the little Pokemon escaping Jean smirked. It would appear that they only needed a moment to realize fighting him directly was fruitless.

"Projectile incoming. Missile count: zero." Jean turned, the slash colliding with his armor but there wasn't much a sword could do to the plating of The Arsenal. Pushed backward only slightly he extended a hand, another Lacer Statim as Kero attempted to get close. He'd swing faster, the claw blades around his hand extended to stab the man in one go.

"Little Redgrave, you shouldn't accepted by offer forty years ago. As a government dog," he smirked, "you cannot reach me."

Druddigon was crushed between two high speed attacks. Roaring as Mienshao and Blastoise crashed into him from opposite sides, he'd begin the destructive motion of Outrage.

Gorm

The splashing water touched Mianshao shortly after he attacked, and the outrage began. With a look that was all business, he caught an incoming claw, stealing its power, and made to return it with Evolved Reversal.

Gorm, meanwhile, looked at Jump. The man towered over him, and their natural infusion was on a much different level. Basically, blocking a punch from Gorm wasn't going to be like blocking a punch from Zack - it was going to hurt.

Jump made the attempt at the vortex but Gorm was moving. It was amusing, it appeared much easier to fight Jump, his tactics, in motion. And easier to confront him directly standing still. So long as Jump would remain vanished, Gorm would continue to move, never giving him a proper chance to set up a vortex that could accomplish his goals.

"Is that all?" Gorm asked, taunting the invisible Jump as he continued to move across the battlefield, guiding Jump until he either had to stop, or he'd misstep over the cliff that Gorm had attempted to lure him to after judging the average width of his circles.

"HITMONLEE'S NOT A GIRL!" Wayne yelled, his face going red. He paused, glancing down between the kicking pokémon's legs. "At least, I don't think it is. It doesn't have a p***s-- ow!"

The fight type withdrew his foot from his trainer's gut and walked some distance away from the two humans. He looked down the stretch of road that led to the desert proper: on either side there was plenty of sand, but for now they were still in a rather populated area. He looked for a place where nobody was walking and prepared his kick.

His training meant that Hitmonlee's legs could move faster than most eyes were able to follow. His spring-like legs were loaded with pressure, which would send diamond-hard slabs of foot firing like a gun. What he lacked in heat and typing, he made up for with sheer speed and destructive potential. But that was difficult to convey without causing an earthquake.

The pokémon focused his energy, taking a slight run-up before launching into a short yet sharp kick at the open air. Vacuum Wave followed the attack, forging an area of emptiness that was crushed in by Hitmonlee kicking the air really, really hard. What happened then was that the vacuum collapsed, air rushed in and created a loud, roaring boom.

"Dude!" Wayne grinned still doubled-over and clutching his stomach, "we didn't even practice that! It's awesome!"
PostPosted: Fri Jun 01, 2012 8:27 pm

Salieri

Salieri nodded slowly, looking dully impressed. "Not bad, not bad. But it's not about all that physical stuff." She tapped the side of her head. "It's all up here. You have to visualize your leg becoming ablaze, like the air around it is fire. Here, I'll show you."

The Battle Girl released her Monferno. Wukong looked around his surroundings for a moment, then turned his head to Liuye Dao. He twitched his nose in annoyance at the sheer sight of his teammate and turned his nose up and away. The Pawniard sighed and shook his head. The feeling was mutual.

"Wukong, can you do a Blaze Kick? Without the kick?"

Wukong snorted. A waste of his talents. [Might as well,] he sighed as he lifted a leg up in front of him. With a short breath, his leg below the knee became coated in flames. Wukong slowly swung the leg side to side like a pendulum, demonstrating that the fire stayed wreathed on.

"See? He didn't move his leg. It just went on fire. You have to have the mental control. It's an aggressive flame, so you need to think aggressive thoughts. Hitmonlee, what gets you angry? Real angry, not just annoyed?"

Jump and Kiedis

Kiedis ran until he got to the edge of the water. He wasn't going for a swim if he could help it. The bear's fur was dry clean only (not really, but imagine if you had to put a Teddiursa into the dryer everytime it got dirty? It'd be rofl without the laughter). His eyes glimmered purple and his nails sharpened with Hone Claws in preparation.

[HEY! WEASEL!]

The little bear punched at the beach, causing it to shake under him. The ocean rippled from the force of the blow. From under the water, sharp stones would emerge upwards like missiles at Mienshao. The Stone Edge projectiles would travel with curving trajectories, all homing in on their targets. Unless Mienshao was a particularly fast swimmer or could fly, he'd probably be shredded apart.

Jump continued following Gorm. He could see just fine where he was going, and had a feeling that going too far would have him running off the edge of the cliff. But he allowed Gorm to continue luring him, in order to reverse the tactic on his enemy. He stopped on a dime, his spiky hair and ponytail blowing in his tailwind as he faced down Gorm.

The Interpol Agent had gone around Gorm, putting the Sage in between him and the edge of the cliff. Jump was panting, not from running, but from the punch he blocked before. His arms were bruised, but he still held them up straight in front of him.

"Nah. I still have plenty of juice left, Bathrobe. Ya thirsty?"

His spun his arms around at mach speed, projecting two horizontal tornados that blew towards Gorm. Combined they had double the knockback force of Jump's previous tornado kick, enough to hurl a tank. The wind covered a wide range in front of the Sage, and now Gorm was between Jump's vortexes and the edge of the cliff. If he stayed in the same spot, he would be blown into the water.

"Go for a drink!"

Kero

The four blades cut into his lung, Kero did not react however. Instead, a venetian light formed, extending out to blast through the Arsenal. If it connected? This fight was over.

Bastoise acted quickly, moving out of the water sphere as it splashed over both opponents. From here he used an Ice Beam before he began to descend back toward the ocean, aimed to quickly finish this.

Jean

Jean-Pierre's suit turned off as the aura drill pierced through it. A machine that ran on aura? Now had that aura pierced. There was a flickering of life as the aura escaped before Jean simply fell to the ground below, stuck in a fixed position as the Arsenal ceased moving.

Druddigon felt the crushing force and freezing of both attacks. His body instantly stopped moving - as Druddigon's cannot move when their body temperature is too low.

Gorm

Mienshao's hand froze to Druddigon as the orb got closer. Focusing, he'd tear it free, losing some fur before utilizing the aura sphere to blast his way skyward, avoiding the Stone Edge. Now cliff level, he'd ride another wave of them, but not at Teddiursa. This time it was at Jump.

Gorm, meanwhile, braced himself, lowering himself to his arms and legs. He felt the incoming Aura, the Aura Sphere passing over head to explode manually, disrupting the air completely before it could properly move Gorm.

And through the settling dust, not giving Jump a chance to escape, Gorm attacked with an upper cut.

Bill

And then an explosion occurred.

"s**t!" Bill cursed. Victini had blown up the house and was now escaping. Already pretty used to being burned, he quickly gave chase. Didn't need an order from Gorm, this was s**t.
PostPosted: Fri Jun 01, 2012 9:20 pm

Jump's eyes narrowed. Damn, thought I had him there, too, he lamented as Gorm closed the distance. His speed wasn't doing him any good in landing meaningful blows, but he could still use it to dodge. The Interpol Agent jumped back and away, avoiding Gorm's swing as he gave himself some distance.

They would keep fighting to a standstill, at this point. He could see why Zack and Artemis had trouble fighting Gorm. Jump couldn't exert the sheer force that either of his friends could, and they still hadn't beaten him past regenerating. The Interpol Agent looked down at his hand held flat at his side. How lethal did he have to get with a healer?

That's when the explosion occurred. Jump looked off in the distance at rising smoke. Who else was here? The idea that Gorm may have not been here alone dawned on Jump. Come to think of it, why was he here at all?

He pointed at the distance. "Do you...do you have a dude over there?" Jump grinned and slapped his palm to his head. "Of course you have a dude over there! Ay Kiedis, brb!"

Jump dashed away, moving as a blur across the beach towards where the explosion occurred. Maybe he could find something cool. Because in Kanto, whenever he chased around random explosions they turned out to be wild Voltorb.

Oh, thank Arceus this wasn't Kanto.

On the beach, Kiedis gave a two claw salute to his departing trainer and looked up on the cliff that Gorm and Mienshao stood on. Was the battle over? The crashed suit of armor seemed to suggest that.

[I didn't even get to slash a throat...]

"Blastoise!" Kero called as he landed on the ground pretty skillfully, despite the bleeding torso. The blood ran from the wound, down his pants leg, invisible against the black of his clothes. Gorm narrowed his eyes and moved to give chase when Kero put a sword in his path.

Mienshao, however, was not blocked. He shot off after Jump.

[Hop on.] Blastoise said this curtly as he shot up from the water, withdrawn into his shell, powered by two pumps, flying through the air.

[Control with your feet, it's just like surfing. We're going after them.]

He was speaking to Kiedis.
PostPosted: Fri Jun 01, 2012 9:52 pm

Kiedis eyed the shell cautiously after Blastoise's proposal. Just like surfing...

[Do I look like a surfer to you?] he complained as he jumped onto the shell. Finding that standing was making him uneasy, he opted to crouched down and grip on with his claws.

[This isn't so baAAAAAD OH GOD MAKE IT STOP!] screamed the teddy bear when Blastoise jetted away. His tiny body gripped on for dear life. This is what surfing was like? Of course an idiot like Jump would enjoy this. Kiedis swore now, he would never do it again!

Past the beach was moe cliffs, and past the cliffs were some hills. Over these hills was the cabin Victini had been inside of. And Jump had the lead on everybody running there. As usual.

He smirked as he looked back and saw Mienshao following. Their species was pretty fast, this one unusually so. Jump was amused. This mission was turning out to be more fun that he had hoped for. "You wanna race? Just try and keep up with me!"

Jump pumped more Aura into his speed, boosting it further. He transcended simply being a blur until even light had trouble keeping up with him. This resulted in his image flickering in and out of existence as the ground he ran upon got torn up in a straight line by feet, kicking up waves of the terrain on either side of him.

Now past the beach, he was running up the cliffs. This would be a quick race.

Kero and Gorm squared off, prepared for a battle of monumental proportions.

Meanwhile...

Mienshao was giving chase. If he couldn't win in speed, he'd simply degrade the speed. Charging up not one but a barrage of Aura Spheres, he'd target and launch them toward Jump. Even if the man could get to Bill, if he was blown up in the aftermath of that it was fine.

Blastoise, meanwhile, was speeding ahead. He had no direction, since the cannons faced out the back.

[You're driving, come on!] He shouted at Kiedis.
PostPosted: Sat Jun 02, 2012 5:24 am

Hitmonlee watched Wukong's technique and listened to Salieri's instructions. And her question. What made him mad? He folded his arms and stared at the Monferno, [Monkeys.]

First Striaton Gym and now this? What was it with fire monkeys outdoing him all the time? ******** that.

"Hahaha, he said 'Hitmonlee'," Wayne pointed at the fight type, "he hates himself--urk!"

Hitmonlee's brow twitched as he brought his foot back out from Wayne's stomach.

Jump and Kiedis

[I've never driven a turtle before!] Kiedis shouted back. Growling under his breath, he tapped the cannons to swing them in the right direction. Blastoise's path was straightened, and they were beginning to catch up.

The bear looked up. [That's no good.]

The rapidly lengthening line in the earth that was Jump's path was zig zagging left and right to avoid Aura Spheres, which exploded into the ground. Aura Sphere was the hardest technique to avoid, even for someone with Jump's speed.

As soon as the line straightened out again, the Aura Spheres all changed direction and homed in on the same spot: Jump's back. A huge, blue explosion rocked the air, and that's what caused Jump to lose balance.

At the speed he was going, he didn't just hit the earth. He was grinding into it, his body skipping and dragging around like a stone skipped across a lake. Every impact made by his landing carved into the terrain even more.

[We're gonna need to speed this up,] Kiedis told Blastoise as he turned around, facing the area they were leaving from. He braced himself against the shell and held a fist back. If Jump did this all the time, then it couldn't be that hard. [Keep it steady.]

The bear punched forward, using Earthquake and releasing a vibrating wave behind him. The air popped, then burst as Kiedis and consequently Blastoise would be shot forward at double speed.

The sound of Jump's cry was carried with him as he was flung across Route 18. Right where he wanted to be.

Jump looked up, dirt caking his whole being and blood dripping from the many cuts and bruises on his body. Ahead of him was a Plasma Grunt, looking off at an orange bolt of light zoom away in the distance. With one eye closed in to prevent blood from trickling into it, he grinned. "Perfect."

He spun himself in the air as his last bound carried him towards the cabin, and stuck out a leg to clothesline Bill. At this point, Jump knew that no matter what he was going to crash into something. But before he hit the cabin, he wanted to take the grunt with him.

Salieri

[Monkeys?] Wukong's eyes and fists went on fire, blazing in passionate anger. [WHAAAA-]

"Okay, well, whatever it is, think about it hard. Try not to be angry, but imagine the satisfaction you could get if you set them on fire." Sal sighed nostalgically at the many angry Hitmonlee she had seen this move taught to. How many punching bags were charred after. Oh the good old days.

"Remember, the best part is that you get to kick it's a** and set it on fire yourself. And then, bam. You should have a fire leg." Salieri swiveled around to look at Wayne and gave him a confident thumbs up. "That's how it usually works, anyway."
PostPosted: Sat Jun 02, 2012 1:32 pm

Wayne cleared his throat, leaning over, "Err, Sal? Not trying to tell you how to do your job or anything but I've been with Hitmonlee for over a week; I've never seen him satisfied with anything. In fact, if he were a women, he'd probably be one of those prissy high maintenance chicks where nothing is ever good enough for them. And trust me, I have experience with those."

---

"Ah! Garçon!" Tess snapped her fingers and the teenaged part-timer stopped leaning against the wall and turned around, "my coffee is too hot."

"Yeaaah?" the waiter slouched over, skinny and slightly spotty with a mess of dark hair, "So? What do you want me to do about it?"
"I would like you to cool it for me. I'm not paying for coffee that I can't drink."
The waiter pulled a face, "Just wait for it to cool down? It'd take like 5 minutes."
"Are you sure? Absolutely sure? Would you be willing to stake your reputation on that?" Tess almost slammed her palm on the table, "Your job?"
"You're not one of those undercover evaluator guys are you?"

"What's going on here?" the boss waddled over, mean-looking with a full face of hair.
"Finally, somebody whose voice doesn't squeak," Tess leant forward with her chin in her palm, "my coffee is unsuitably hot. I can't drink this."
The boss glared at his employee, "Well, did you offer to cool it down for her?!"
"How am I even supposed to do that?!" the kid nearly cried, grabbing Tess's drink and running off with it to do something.

The boss sucked his teeth. "We do great coffee. Just can't get the staff to match."
"Hmm," Tess smirked, "I wouldn't know."

---

"Seriously, my ex-girlfriend was a horrible person. Well, I guess she still is unless Plasma killed her too. Oh god. What... what if they did? That's awful!"

Wayne went on and on and Hitmonlee closed his eyes tight. The air around his leg started to get wavy, like the road when it's really, really hot. It might've been because they were standing on a road next to a desert, but it could also be because Hitmonlee was about to use--

"Urk!" Rolling Kick knocked Wayne to the ground, making the trainer bounce from one shoulder to the other. He landed, slowly pushing himself back to his feet. "Man, my insides must be liquid... okay. This is really getting old. Have you even tried doing what she told you to?!"

The skin on Hitmonlee's fist almost split, he was clenching it that tight. [She said not to be angry but how the hell can I do that when I've got you as a trainer?! You think I can't do something so you just palm me off on someone else?!] Hitmonlee stomped his foot onto the ground, forging a network of cracks on the road, [you humans are all alike! You think I'm not good enough for you, but the truth is you're not good enough for me!]

"I have no idea what you just saaaaaid!" Wayne roared, charging into his pokémon. It was enough to take the fight type by surprise and the two went tumbling, at this rate, they'd probably crash right into Wukong.

Getting clearance into Pinwheel Forest was simple enough. When she wasn't being called off on missions, Jackie more or less had free reign over where she went and what she did. All she really had to do was pull rank and act mildly intimidating towards the area guard. Most of the forest had been cordoned off, with patrolmen guarding the perimeter to prevent trainers from wandering in. It wasn't completely secure, but she trusted in her senses to detect any strays wandering in.

"I have to hand it to Jump, this is the perfect training ground," Jackie said, driving the black convertible down a worn trail; a path that had probably been carved out by years of pokémon trainers exploring the forest.
"Ahuh," Zack leaned his head to the side, not looking at any one thing. He'd hoped to forget about his father, but that mission...

"Hey, are you deaf? I said get out of the car."

They'd already arrived. Zack bolted up alert and made sure not to slam the car door too hard. Jackie rummaged through the hold-all she'd brought with them, taking out a small device and placing it on the car seat before putting the roof in place and locking up. She spotted the look Zack was giving her.

"It should keep wild pokémon away from the car. You wouldn't want Jump to cry, would you? Stop staring. That was a joke."

"Let's just get this over with," Zack put his hands in his pockets as Jackie led him further up the path. They'd left the car under some overhanging rock, plenty of moss and greenery still around it. By the time they'd moved fifteen feet away, the forest looked like charcoal. Trees were dead, painted with ash, looking like the winter from hell.

They reached the wasteland that once served as the battleground against Gorm. Empty as far as the eye could see. Zack rarely looked back to see the kind of damage his explosions caused. Thanks to years of practice, he didn't look shocked.

"Look at it. All of this is your fault, Zack," Jackie stood level with him, surveying the destruction. "This was down to your lack of skill."
"I was fighting a Sage," Zack said without his expression changing, "I had to do everything I could."
"You went overboard. You destroyed half this forest and nearly killed a bunch of kids. And worst of all? The Sage got away while barely being scratched. You would've died had Jump not pulled your a** out of the fire you started!"

Zack was quiet. He started walking and Jackie followed, not staying too close, just watching him with a frown. He stopped when they reached the centre mark, where the earth stopped being warped away. Here it was simply burned.

The former operative put his hands together and closed his eyes. He was concentrating and Jackie could feel his Aura tightening. But she still had to ask:

"What are you--"
"I'm meditating. This requires a bit of thought," Zack dragged his hands back, body swaying with the movement. As he brought them forward, he opened his palms and released an prolonged explosion.

The pokémon roared like a lion, its body forming from the flames, hitting the ground with a heavy beat of her paws. Fire fused together to create bone and flesh, building up layer by layer, wreathed in fur that flickered like flame. The Arcanine shone a brilliant white from its mane and tail-fur, which flowed like clouds in the breeze. It had shorter black body fur that was cut with white markings. Its eyes looked like they were made entirely from sclera, hard and angry. This pokémon looked more like a wolf than other members of its species; smaller, but no less ferocious.

Ever wonder why Arcanine are classified as Legendary Pokémon? This was the reason. Ferox earned that reputation over 700 years ago.

"We linked our Auras," Zack explained. Aura links were one of the more basic elements of human and pokémon bonding; it allowed for boosts in power when their fighting spirits were strong enough. "Ferox can use my explosions to Teleport over long distances."

Ferox growled lowly. She was eyeing Jackie's pokéballs with anticipation. The pokémon turned to face her master immediately at the sound of his voice.

"Set up a barrier around this area," Zack said, and Ferox complied. She shot off, running a circle around the wasteland with embers following her movements. She spread her Aura around the battlefield, allowing her to absorb stray flames before they reached the forest.

"Well at least one of you is still competent," Jackie said teasingly as Ferox came to a halt. "Now then, are you ready to get your a** kicked?"
Zack looked over, unimpressed. He didn't bother with the one-liner comeback, he just cracked his knuckles, "Where do we begin?"

((Just gonna note that Teleport is a legit move for Arcanine. But only when taught by the now-defunct Teleport TM. Fitting, as Ferox is really, really old))
