The Machine [Open/Accepting]

"Yes, well, they were so insistent." Shadow replied. "But my friend was so terribly sorry that he had to leave so soon without me." She replied.

Damien was fine other than his head hurt where the pen smacked it, plus he now had a small mark of ink there. He watched as Shadow was dragged back in. "It seems that we're going to have to go to a more secure and secret location. I thought this place was fine, but apparently it's not" the Absolute Leader sighed as he saw Shadow being dragged back in. He then walked over to Monica. "I think we need to have a little word in my office about the security in this place" he said, not amused at what just happened. He was hoping that Zil would be shot on sight, but someone who was able to sneak into HQ was probably too slippery to be caught that easily.

"Don't be too hard on her. I mean, I did get dragged back here." Shadow replied, still stuck between the nets. "It's not like you lost the annoying goose that lays the golden eggs." She said, referring to herself.

Rafael stood by Kyrell, a fully loaded sniper strapped to his back and a modified PDA clutched firmly in his hand. He was going with the former prince whether the boy liked it or not.

One of the few men Raf had trained up in technological war fair sat behind the laptop, there wasn’t much more that could be done at this point even if the ex-communications tech was to stay behind.

Besides he could control what he needed through the tweek’s and adjustments he had made to one of the Military’s PDA’s he had swiped back at the office. It was a crude method but for now it would have to do. “Ready when you are….Sir...”

Saiyu sat in Kyrell’s old room. For some reason a heavy dread had settled in her stomach.

Even when attending to the Princess she had found herself unable to keep still, maybe that’s why the young girl had let her leave early? Brushing a hand over the illustrated story book the red sighed, perching on the dusty windowsill to look out over the vast territory of the holy city.

Tree’s and mountains stretched for miles, if you focused hard enough small rivers and pools, cutting the unending sea of green trees with glimmering speck of blue, could be seen and yet Saiyu took none of this in. Every day, roughly at this time Saiyu could be found sitting at the window gazing out with the children’s book cradled neatly on her lap.

She wasn’t looking at the tree’s or rivers. She wasn’t even interested in the wildlife brave enough to venture near the city. Saiyu was sat their looking for something that shouldn’t belong, a shock of white hair, a flicker of the Helmsherian crest. She was waiting, watching for Kyrell to come back.

The feeling of dread only grew in the young woman’s chest at the thought of the former prince as she continued her daily ritual of watching for the former prince of Helmshire.

"Yes, but someone was able to try and get you out in the first place. We need to make sure that doesn't happen again. And this time the doctors will only be focused on extracting DNA from you" Damien said.

"And I suppose you will only be focused on having my DNA injected into you. .. Is it me or does all of this talk sound like something out of a terrible porno? I can almost see it now." She replied with a jest. "But if it was, does that make me the man?"

Damien ignored Shadow and began ordering everyone to gather up information and experiments that dealt with Shadow as it was all being relocated to the 'special area' near Willowsfield. He didn't say it out loud, but those who knew about its existence knew Damien was referring to the secret human experimentation camp disguised as a nature research laboratory in that area. Monica would definitely know what he meant, as should a few of the doctors and scientists. Shadow would be kept in a special sequestered location away from all the other prisoners being held there for experimentation as she was a special case that involved Damien directly.

There was a sudden sound of metal under the pile of nets that Shadow was in. "You may be pretending not to listen, but I know you really are. Because, I'm the one with Monica's gun, and I have one more bullet. I think I prefer one quick shot to the brain then another year in a tank."

"Where did you get that?" Damien asked, wondering how she got a hold of the secret police chief's weapon.

"I took it from my friend before he shot you in the face, remember?" Shadow replied. "Not that it matters much when I'm dead."

"I see. So you're not afraid of dying? Well, you're more brave then many others I've seen" Damien said, "or are you just bluffing?" He was trying to stall for time while a couple of soldiers tried to discreetly get the gun away from Shadow.
