What she got? What did Henrietta have? Taking a deep breath and she closed her eyes and raised her hands up in front of her chest, placing the palms together. Letting the breath out she concentrated.

Crystals, crystals, crystals...

Tess sighed and flicked back her hair. A second later she'd run forward and launched a kick right at Henrietta's chest. If it hit, it'd probably knock her clear off her feet.

"Nothing's going to happen when you're that unsure of yourself!"

WHAM! Henrietta hit the ground. She had not even been expecting that. Pain shot through her as she sat up and the pink of her dressed was mixed with red. The dropkick had torn the wounds open.

She felt the adrenaline hit. She'd bleed out like this, right. Do or die scenario. Henrietta closed her eyes again as she sat there, propped up by one arm, the other at her chest. "It's okay," she whispered to herself. "We can do this." In the future there might be a thousand more battles like this, she couldn't afford to mess up now.

"I'm strong, stronger then a lot of people give me credit for," she said to herself. With her eyes closed Tess might as well not have been there. "I can protect myself and everyone that matters to me. I can do this."

Then she squeaked in surprise. The bleeding stopped and she pulled the front of her dress forward to peer down.

Only one stitch had torn, luckily. Only one wound reopened, not a big deal. But now? It was stopped from bleeding by a crystal covering it.

"I-i did it."

thought of something biggrin may be entertaining if something more becomes of it))

as soon as they got back on solid ground, kenta was going to go check out the roller coaster (gym), but sasha took off for the north of town. kenta chased her into a large colorful building, where he saw her jump onto a desk infront of a woman.
woman: "hello there" she said with a smile, albiet abit shocked by the pokemon showing up before the trainer. "is this energetic cutie yours?"

"y-yeah" kenta said, catching up to her. "sorry if she caused any trouble"

woman: "not at all. in fact, would you two like to take part in todays show? we need an energetic act like her."

sasha sat and smiled, as if saying she wants in.
kenta nodded. "well, it looks like she wants too... alright" he said with a smile

"That's what this guy from Interpol told me!" Sal told Wayne excitedly. She didn't expect Wayne to know what Aura was too. Jump had told her there were two levels to Aura: getting a boost in your body's capabilities was Natural Infusion, and then from there you could develop a unique skill of your own.

It seemed that Jump's was super speed, or something like it. So what was hers? Controlling her blood? Maybe other people's blood too? Or maybe it was something more than just blood control. Jump had also told her that he couldn't teach her himself, but maybe there was someone else that could.

Salieri took a moment to wonder if Moze knew how to teach her. She knew he had been spending the past few years learning about Aura. Maybe that was why he wasn't looking for a cure anymore. Because Aura could save his life. Somewhere in her mind she knew she was drawing conclusions, but the more she thought about it the more she wanted to justify the idea in her head.

It wasn't easy to reach her brother. Moze said she could call anytime, but most of the time his xtransceiver was off. Salieri recalled that he was going to Driftveil. If I find him there, I might be able to get some answers.

The best part of all of this was that Salieri couldn't help but feel stronger. "It's like I'm getting superpowers! I think I can take this to the next level, make it a part of my kung fu!" The Battle Girl was ecstatic. She looked up at Wayne with a sly grin.

"Hey, you want to be my sidekick?"

Tess

"Not bad," Tess brought her leg down. Seemed like the wave from yesterday really did speed up Aura abilities. She wouldn't let Henrietta recover from her elation.

She rushed again, bringing her foot down with a solid stance and driving her fist forward. Last time was about speed, this time it was power. She'd aim to smash Henrietta's crystal apart in a single strike.

"But you can't win a fight by just patching yourself up!"

---

Wayne

"Who? Me? Err, I don't have superpowers! How can I be a sidekick without superpowers? You're crazy, Sal. So crazy. Ahh, sidekicks... those superpowered guys, which I'm totally not."

Wayne waved his hand away dismissively, "Nah. If anything, you'd be my sidekick. I'm Captain Unova, essentially. Except without the superpowers. You're Bucky."

Henrietta, on her feet, saw the fist coming. However, Henrietta wasn't just a slouch. She'd learned the easiest point to parry something was at the point that was furthest from the body. So, Henrietta would curl into Tess as she pushed the fist away at the fist with one hand.

Her side facing Tess, unless Tess avoided it, she'd have stepped with one foot planting it between Tess'.

"Wh-what are you doing?!"
PostPosted: Mon Jun 04, 2012 9:18 pm

But as Henrietta pushed Tess' fist away, she was better able to twist her body and follow through with the opposite elbow. If Henrietta got so close, she'd pretty much be walking into a crack across the face.

"Quiet hesitating!" Tess shouted, "who're you going to protect like that?!"

If she hit, Tess would have enough time to adjust her stance and drive a knee into Henrietta's gut, knocking the wind out of her.

It was her own fault for trying to be nice, to be non-confrontational. Henrietta felt her nose but and the world flashed white. Probably broken, but hopefully just bleeding. The second shot was into her gut and she gasped futilely for air before stumbling away from Tess.

Alright... I get it..

Catching herself on her feet, she brought her arms up, fists raised like she'd been taught. She corrected her footing, the use of movements by pivot. It meant that, in a short period, she could close or regain distance particularly quickly. She eased her way toward Tess, waiting for the girl to throw the first punch.
PostPosted: Mon Jun 04, 2012 9:42 pm

Tess wasted no time. It was a simple punch; all it really had to be. Henrietta still had to recover from being winded and set up her stance, giving Tess all the time in the world. With the younger girl unable to stand quite right, she was basically open.

Her body weight drove forward, strong legs adding to the acceleration. Twisting her torso while moving further enhanced the speed of her blow. Tess once again aimed for the crystal on Henrietta's chest with the intent to smash it.

With her speed and Henrietta's vulnerability, even if the girl managed to grab her arm it'd be too little too late. She wouldn't be able to muster up enough strength to mitigate the force of the blow.

"You can't even protect-- yourself!"

There was nothing she could do, right? Her power had only manifested in defense.

Defense...

The fist collided as Henrietta abandoned defending herself physically with a winded body and focused like she had before. In the heat of battle adrenaline kicks in, fight or flight reflexes kick in. Henrietta had long since abandoned her flight reflex.

Now she was defending herself. It was rudimentary at best, but it was an attempt. She hit the floor again but this time it didn't hurt. The front of her dress where Tess' fist had impacted sparkled in refracted light, tiny crystals hardening the surface of that one area like armor, cracking along the surface of the clothing.

Henrietta stared up at Tess, tired but awake, able to stand up as she tried to do.

"That's more like it," Tess said, rubbing her knuckles then offering Henrietta a hand. "When your life is on the line, Aura reaches its peak. All you really need is a shove in the right direction. Oh, and wipe your nose. I have a thing about blood."

Tess folded her arms, "but if someone wants to kill you, they won't aim for your armour. Next time I don't want to see any hesitation in you. Not a bit. Have you got that, Hummy? Fighting isn't about attacking or defending; it's a matter of doing what it takes to shut down your opponent without getting hurt."

She looked Henrietta up and down. The girl was a mess. "Something makes me think you needed that advice a long time ago."

Henrietta was on her feet quicker with Tess' help. Using her forearm she wiped the blood and winced. Feeling her nose, she noted that it didn't feel odd or broken or anything. A good thing, she thought.

"Th-thank you," she said and she looked down to examine her dress. The crystal embedded cloth was cracked and chipped from the blow. Not as strong as she'd like it to be but she'd work on that, train it to become stronger.

"I'm going to Nimbasa next. I'll start my training there."

((Yo guys, y'all PM me your character's Aura abilities in full detail ASAP so we can go over them and see what they are. Things are about to kick into the next gear in the next story arc, and we just need to make sure everyone understands the Aura system in Legends before we can get this show on the road xd ))

Salieri

"Hmph. No way." Sal folded her arms and shook her head. "I changed my mind. I don't need a side kick. I'll be, uh..." The Battle Girl snapped her fingers. " idea I'll be Miss Monk! No, that's stupid."

She sighed. Her red sash and long braid whipped into the sandstorm as she looked over to Wukong and Liuye Dao. Instead of being on vigilant watch like before, somehow Liuye Dao had gotten distracted and was firing a large crescent of Psychic shaped energy at Sal's Monferno. It carved a path in the sand past Wukong, who jumped over it with his Blaze Bound. Jets of fire ignited at the bottom of his feet again, propelling him into the Pawniard. The two started rolling around in the sand and beating each other up. Per usual.

It was nice to see them play so well. Salieri turned back to Wayne. "I'm not really sure what this power is, but now it's on my goal list too. I'll figure out what it does and master it in no time." She flicked a thumb over her nose and smirked. "Yeah, and then I'll think of a good superhero name, yeah."

The Battle Girl looked at her xtransceiver for the time. It was two o'clock in the afternoon. If she wanted to make it through the desert before nightfall while having plenty of time to explore it, she needed to head out soon.

"Well, congrats on learning Blaze Kick. I believe you'll enjoy the ability to combine beatdowns and pyromania in one move." Sal paused, then gave Hitmonlee a Shaolin Salute. It was a nostalgic feeling, teaching an old student like this. The feeling only made Salieri want to start up her adventure again even more.

She looked back at Wayne, still with her confident smirk. "I'm going back into the city one more time to stock up for traveling this thing, and then I'm out of here. Nimbasa awaits!" With a hand on her hip, she cracked her neck. "Don't let that technique down, cowboy." Salieri held out a fist for a pound. "You're a Del Forrest Kung Fu disciple now too, just like Hitmonlee. Show them what you're made of."

N

It was a flawless disguise. As he walked down the streets of Nimbasa in his fake moustache, nose and glasses combo, N calculated the 0% of the people on the street knew who he was. Perhaps it could have been because they didn't know in the first place. However, because he could not rule out the possibility that it was his disguise that did the trick, he could still have faith in his original calculation of it's success.

The green haired trainer headed towards the northern gate leading into Route 4, his invisible Zoroark in tow.

Tess

A hand came down against Flygon's hide. Tess smiled proudly while patting her pokémon.

"Do you need a ride? Flygon's known as 'the desert spirit', after all. And you're in no fit state to be crossing that place on foot."

---

Wayne

Hitmonlee returned the salute. Then remembered that Wayne was watching and dropped it with a frown.

"Oh yeah? Well you're a-- you're a Lee Associate! Yeah! WL Associates Limited! See you later, Associate!"

He called until Sal left, then turned back to his pokémon, caught halfway between smiling and looking sad.

"We've really got to master this technique now. We haven't trained in the desert yet, so we can start there. Are you ready?"
[Always.]

Wayne stood on the wall separating the road from the desert proper. It was raised, with the path sloping down to reach the sands. With Hitmonlee at his side, Wayne jumped off the edge.
