@Kaz: Got that ******** right. I wanted the smoke to bleed through the fire, not have the fire appear behind the other layers entirely.
@Dissia: That usually means something is wrong, but okay. I guess you can be simply not happy. I usually am like that. Which is why I turn it outward.
