"Man, I thought Japanese schools were supposed to be strict... Watching this extremely uninterested class as an aspiring teacher made Zaine a tad uneasy. They probably hadn't even noticed that the teacher had been gone for five minutes already. He had kept it subtle and whispered the details. Apparently, something had come up. Zaine was left in charge of the class. "I gotta do something.."
Suddenly standing up, Zaine addressed the class loudly."Ok, everyone, though I am supposed to finish the lesson..." He checked his volume and lowered his voice a bit. "I've yet to formally introduce myself. I am Zaine Morgans. I'm from America. Pleased to meet you all. I'll answer any questions you have..."
Awkward silence.
"Ok, continuing on." He started back into the lesson, rarely turning from the blackboard now.
"Ah... why'd I do that? You're here to teach, not be pals with a bunch of kids"

Seth looked up at the substitute and smiled, the dude was obviously new and Seth gave it about a minute before someone threw a paper airplane.

Aya was one of the few who did actually paid attention. When she saw other students slacking she would wish she went to another school.

((If you share a class with Seth, Zaine will be in that one.))

((He mentioned earlier that Jenna was on the attendance list, but I didn't think she and Seth share a class))

((Blah, whatever... I'm tired))
Jenna glances up from her notes briefly when Zaine introduced himself, but immediately looked down again to continue writing. She covers a yawn as she glances at her watch.

The students continued to talk amongst themselves, and just like Seth had predicted, someone decided to throw a paper airplane at Zaine.

"Hm?" he muttered, turning and glancing at the ground, then raising an eyebrow. "Ha ha... cute. I guess I'll end it there." a smile spread across his face. "Here's the homework Sensei left." he said, copying something from a sheet of paper onto the board. "It's kind of a lot, so use these last five minutes to get started." With that, he put away the paper and the rest of his things.
Actually, it was the homework for the next three days...

Aya was confused. Since their usual teacher never gave that much at once. She thought for a moment he was punishing the students who didn't pay attention. If that was the case it looked like she'd have to suffer too. So much for video games tonight. She copied what had to be done, and went ahead and got a head start.

Seth copied the assignment like everyone else and stuffed it into his bag for later. He never did homework in class, besides, why would they call it homework if they wanted it done in class?
