((hey guys, sorry ive been away for most of the week. been moving and what not. moving sucks, even more so when the only connection to the internet is on a tiny little netbook with worse connection the dial up

I seen your quote Ava. though im not completely sure what it is that your asking me to do. you want me to link each summary to the first page of the summary thread?))
PostPosted: Fri Jun 22, 2012 8:36 am

((Yeah, you'll be able to see the format in the first post. I can copy and paste what to just paste into the post for you if you want - you'll have to hit reply to see the html for it.

Also, like I said before, I believe Ryoku sunk Relic Castle since it's meant to be used for later. I mean, you can have Takamaru continue to explore it and possibly face Ryoku - which would end terribly - or just head to Nimbasa and join us for the meeting.))

((Yep, moving blows. Don't worry about it dude, just post when you aren't bogged down by stuff.

Also, Ryoku did sink the Relic Castle into the Desert Resort when Kenta found it, so it's buried entirely.))

A city wide tournament. Just a city wide tournament. Sure, Nimbasa City wasn't Kendo Club central or anything. But still, that was more impressive than Salieri had anticipated. Who knew stuttery Henrietta could beat people up with sticks?

The Battle Girl rolled her eyes. "Shuddup. You know, I'd love to have a trophy prize like that. Not for proof of skill, just for a reminder that I'm the best." There was a hint of longing -or jealousy- in her voice. Of course, she may have gotten one in Nacrene if she didn't tap out for Henrietta's sake. But that was said and done. No need to bring it up to her, not now.

Salieri flicked a potato chip at Henrietta. "Geez Henrietta, have some pride," she teased. "If you don't own up to what you're good at, people will tread all over you. That's the kind of world we live in, you and me." Sal munched down the rest of the chips she was holding. "Didn't I already tell you to hold your head up higher than that? Pride, girl, that's what you need."

An idea crossed her mind, causing Salieri to laugh "Hahaha! Next thing you know, you're going to wind up with superpowers or something cool. And then tell me that's not a big deal."

Henrietta hung her head as she was scolded. "Sorry." Salieri mentioned super powers soon after that and Henrietta perked up, her head lifting and her eyes raising to look at the medal.

"Salieri," she said as she turned her head to look at the martial artist. "That medal I got while leading the kendo team." To be more exact, she was considered - at least last year - to be the best practitioner of kendo in the entire city. "And," she began as she lifted her right hand up, back of it aimed at Salieri, "I have this."

It was all she could manage at this point, but the middle finger nail would slowly become coated in a crystal like substance.

The end of the desert was in sight. Tk's scarf whipped back and forth as Saria dove through the sky towards the ground, Lancer holding onto his trainers shoulder so hard that if he had knuckled they'd turn white.

So as it turned out, the structure they stopped in earlier was no more than a extravagant sand castle that just so happened to be built in the vacinity of relic castle, which was no were to be found.

the flight across the desert wasn't eventful in the least. No crazy Pokemon encounter's, no Epic team plasma fights, not even flying through the sand storm was difficult for an experienced flyer like saria.

Though for the entire flight, Tk explored the inside of his head. Ever since the victory aura engulfed Castelia city, he noticed that when ever e closed his eyes and concentrated, he could reach out with a mental like probe
, however, the only thing he ever came into contact with were seals, Zipper like seals that he could grasp. though some primal instict always stopped him from pulling open these mental zippers.

Saria cawed as the neared nimbasa, snapping Tk back into reality.

'Maybe i oughta go see a doctor, or a shrink.' he thought, reaching up to feel around the outside of his head. Nope, no zippers. tk let out a sigh of relief.

Saria's claws clicked and clanked as she walked down the street at Tk's side, Lancer on her back. while looking for Henrietta's house he stopped and picked up some drinks at a convineice store. some Canned juice, soda, the kind of stuff kids his age drank.

Tk continuously mumbled the address Henrietta sent him. Stopping infront of her supposed house.

"alrighty Saria, Hang out here for a little bit. c'mon Lancer." He said hopping up to the door mat and rapping the door three time's. The silver haired youth waited to be greeted, albeit a little nervous. He wasn't shy like Henrietta, but he didn't do well around people he didn't know too well, her parents for instance.

While waiting for the door to be answered he wondered why shed wanted him to come over. He entertained himself with thoughts like them going on a date. a night on the town. His cheeks turned a light red at the thoughts.

Salieri was already grinning when Henrietta started elaborating on her award, glad she got Henrietta to get her out of her shell a little, but became ecstatic when the crystal appeared on her fingernail. "Whoa! Now that's what I'm talking about!"

The Battle Girl jumped onto Henrietta's bed, hopping up and down excitedly. "What is that, some kind of crystal? How does that work, how do you do that? Since when?"

She wondered if Henrietta got her powers the same way she did, in the flash of light across Castelia City. Salieri had no idea what it was, but she couldn't rule out the possibility. And now that she knew Henrietta had an ability too, she just had to show her's.

So Sal stopped jumping on the bed for a moment, looking down at Henrietta. "It's Aura, isn't it? Henrietta, you're not going to believe this, but I-"

The sound of the door knocking caused Sal to stop speaking. And then she realized how loud she was just being. As cool as they were, they were bizarre, these Aura abilities. Not normal. Salieri didn't want random people -like Henrietta's parents, for instance- overhearing her. They might think she's a freak.

"Who do you think that is?" Salieri had no idea who else Henrietta invited besides herself and Wayne.

((Sorry guys, I've been away and couldn't get online. The good news is I'm back. The bad news is I'm really ill, so I guess that's payment for holding stuff up :O))

"Uh oh," Wayne muttered when he saw Leavanny prepare her Flash technique. He'd seen the move before and almost lost the match to it; if the trainer wasn't careful, he could get temporarily blinded alongside his pokémon. At the tell-tale flicker of light that preceded the main bang, Wayne threw up his arm to shield his eyes.

Hitmonlee lacked that experience though, and caught the light full-on. Even Wayne, who was defending himself, had to squint from the intensity of reflected light. But he could still see the battle, and recognised Leavanny's Double Team manoeuvre at a glance.

His pokémon couldn't see a thing, so Wayne had to take full control of the match. There was a brief pang of doubt: what if Hitmonlee didn't listen again? He had to put the match in Wayne's hands. Could the Fight type trust his trainer? No. No time to doubt. Time to win this battle.

"Backspin Blaze Kick!" Wayne commanded, authority in his voice. Blinded, Hitmonlee had no choice but to follow orders and ducked to the ground as Leavanny's clones began their Aerial Ace. He span on his back like a breakdancer, both legs ablaze to create a wheel of fire that would both protect Hitmonlee from vertical attacks and disperse the clones.

((I typically purposefully ignore people that knock really quietly on doors. I have a friend who does it constantly and we only know she's there cause the dog barks.))

Henrietta's hands were raised what might've been defensively but looked more like flinching at Salieri's jump. She wasn't sure how to react to the excitement of the other girl so she sat there listening to her, her head drawn back a quarter of an inch and her expression reading 'surprised'.

"Hum-

knock knock knock!

She looked toward the door of her room when the doorbell rang. "Takamaru, Luka, Wayne and you." She couldn't remember Prince's real name since it was pretty strange and he'd only said it all of one time when she was around and Robby's name had produced more results than she cared to remember. Otherwise she'd just left Eunmi out since the Korean girl had vowed to start a career when she reached Castelia - so she wasn't going to be in any danger.

"Let's go see who it is." Henrietta then headed out of the room and down the stairs to answer the door and see Takamaru there. "Hey," she said, turning to let him in. "Come on in."

***

Leavanny was about as blind as Hitmonlee given the whirling motion of her technique. Not that it actually mattered, considering she already had so much momentum it wasn't possible to miss - much less abandon the technique. In fact, without sufficient brute force Pokemon that used Aerial Ace for speed and then tried to back out of it typically broke whatever part they used to try and stop the technique. Too often did some foolish Pokeon belonging to a novice trainer snap a leg or a wing trying to control Aerial Ace once they'd entered their maximum speed.

Realistically the technique was designed to dominate the skies in such a way that it let one hit regardless of anything else, but lacking the priority factor of moves like Extreme Speed and having a maximum speed that did not permit enemies to avoid it, it was bound to have obvious drawbacks.

One of these was a wheel of fire that was met with the whirling blade of Leavanny. While it was impossible to deflect the flames, two sword dances versus two meditations saw to it that Hitmonlee wasn't coming out of the conflict like Mike Tyson versus some scrawny kid that'd managed their way to the top by luck.

While he might be successful in altering the trajectory, it wasn't a complete factor of deflecting Leavanny entirely. Barring luck, she was sure to pierce him regardless, just with added injury instead of just when she'd likely crash into him.

Burgh, meanwhile, was covered in a mass of blackness that continued to crawl down the steps toward the battlefield. "Would you like to see my new painting?" he gurgled to Wayne. It was quite the masterpiece, depicting a scene from his battle with Takamaru, albeit with some weird artistic habit of making everything looking insanely deformed and oddly colored.

((I guess that makes you an Ignoreamoose <---gen 6 pokémon name))

"Not now, dude," Wayne waved Burgh away without looking, "battle time."

Luckily for Hitmonlee, he was using two Blaze Kicks at once. Couple that with his two stage power increase and both kicks being four times effective against Leavanny, and it was more than a slight change in trajectory. It was an intense flame attack, which should fry the bug type in a single kick's power, never mind two.

But Leavanny had power of its own, with a double bout of Swords Dance and a super effective Aerial Ace that was deflected on contact with Hitmonlee's legs. Leavanny missed the tank but damage the cannon, and Hitmonlee was able to throw his way off a handstand and onto his feet.

He staggered, legs unable to support his weight. The stat bonuses of the last two attacks tallied out equally; it was just a question of whether two more powerful attacks that hit their target dealt more damage than one attack that failed to completely strike home.
PostPosted: Fri Jun 22, 2012 5:36 pm

BOOM!

The Pokemon exploded into the ground, debris kicked up by her landing, ash and dust and rock flying every which place. And as it settled Leavanny stood, burned but alive, ready to skewer Hitmonlee properly.

When, from her angle, she saw the skittering black mass. Her children, heading toward the battle.

An army of Sewaddle - naked after leaving their blanket - black with a thick coat of blood covering them.

[No!] she shouted and stepped toward them, to divert them from the conflict. She fell suddenly with a sharp pain and, looking back, she noticed her leg twisted at some impossible angle, bug goo sticking out of her exoskeleton leg.

And, realizing this was an opportune chance to be attacked, she looked toward Hitmonlee - who was probably attacking because he wasn't ********.]

Hitmonlee looked down at his legs, bleeding and wounded. He couldn't put weight on them, not enough to ******** enough to stand. Slowly, he pushed himself up, wary of his opponent, but noticing her swarm of children crawling out of Burgh's mouth. They stretched and snapped the gym leader's flesh, cracks of blood flowing from his too-wide mouth. His eyes rolled back, body twisted and twitching. The army of miniature insects left the body behind as a withered husk, dried and quickly decomposing on the arena floor.

Hitmonlee shuffled over, keeping his distance from Leavanny. Her children were at his feet. He gave one look at her, and if he had a mouth he would've smiled.

[Blaze Stamp]

He lifted his foot up; it ignited and Hitmonlee drove it back into the floor, crushing the swarm of baby Sewaddle and setting them ablaze in a wave of fire. The effort sent him crashing to the ground himself, pain rushing through his leg.

"Whoa," Wayne whispered, eyes wide open. He didn't... he didn't know how to react. Seriously, was there a rule about the gym leader actually being the puppet of an army of psychotic insects and dying mid-battle? He hoped he wouldn't have to do another rematch.

"Can I err," he said to nobody in particular, "can I still get my badge or what?"

He'd deal with the trauma later.
PostPosted: Fri Jun 22, 2012 5:51 pm

"Are you ******** serious!?" shouted someone that emerged from the back area of the gym. Kevin Monroe, the man in charge of fixing the gym up for the next battle. Leavanny looked dead, all the Sewaddle were dead, Burgh was dead. Seriously, he was quitting. Too much of this s**t every god damn day.

"Yeah, here, get the ******** out." Kevin, clearly angry and not traumatized, threw the badge toward Wayne and stomped off angrily back into the shadows, cursing about mops and brooms and back ups.

What a weird guy.

Wayne caught the badge with a flick of his hand. He held it to the sky, "Sweet! I got the err... I got this badge!"

He shoved it in his pockets with the rest, and his eyes settled on the scene. Burgh really was dead. Was he dead all along? Wayne had heard of ghost pokémon that sometimes possessed humans, but he'd never even thought that bug pokémon might do it. Leavanny was still on fire; she looked toast, but there was nothing he could do about it now.

"I feel like I should say something," he muttered, "sorry, Burgh. Thanks for the battle."

Wayne did a salute he remembered Salieri use, probably got it wrong, and recalled Hitmonlee. He'd definitely have to go to the pokémon center this time. Tell them what happened at the gym. He paused on the way out. For some reason, he didn't feel as disgusted as he thought he ought to.

"Huh," Wayne ran his hand through his hair, "Guess I'm jaded already. That's a good thing..." he walked into the reception area, "...and a bad thing. Oh, by the way, your boss is kinda dead."

"It's like a dream come true," the receptionist said, sounding bored. "Have a nice day, I know I will."

Wayne nodded. He decided to hurry before the woman realised he wasn't kidding about Burgh. First stop, the pokémon center. Then it was on to Nimbasa, Henrietta's house. Then at some point he'd probably go see a therapist.
PostPosted: Fri Jun 22, 2012 8:48 pm

"I guess I was worried about nothing," Wayne said to himself as he left the pokémon center. "Man, do I feel silly. Okay, now to cross a desert and find Henrietta's house before 7." He check his Xtransceiver for the time. "Oh boy..."

"Stop talking to yourself!" shouted some passerby and Wayne struck a frown. But he liked talking to himself...

"Kinda like Duosion. I gotta find out what the deal is with that," Wayne said, taking the pokémon out of its ball, "okay dude, I don't want you arguing with yourself but you gotta Telekinesis me to the northern city gate. No way am I walking all the way there and definitely no way I am going on public transport. Have you seen the kind of people who go on those things? People who don't have access to psychic pokémon such as yourself, that's who."

Duosion gave the trainer a blank look. [I think this counts as pokémon abuse.]
[I'm exaggerating.]

---

"Noooooo!" Wayne fell to his knees after being dropped off by Duosion, "that desert is way bigger than I remember it!"

[We have to cross that thing?!]
[I'm not sure which is worse: a desert, or being put in Wayne's pocket and rubbing up against his balls.]
[Poké Balls.]
[Whatever.]

"Oh wait, sweet, there's a coach to take people across," Wayne perked up and recalled his psychic pokémon. He ran over and with the last of his money, paid for a ticket on the coach. "Did I mention how much I love public transport?" Wayne edged past a really sweaty fat woman and a man who seemed to have a skinned Bidoof-hat sitting on his head.

It made sense for one of these coaches to run; there was probably an entire transit system dedicated to crossing the desert. Most trainers just seemed to blindspot it for some reason.

"Next stop, Nimba--"
"That's my line!" the driver grumbled, "Eh... Nimbasa, next stop. Siddown and kiss yer a** goodbye."

Wayne was just wondering about the mechanics of that when he was thrown backwards. The coach activated its anti-gravity engine and tucked its wheels in. A moment passed, and the mass of metal rocketed across the desert sands.

---

And finally, less than an hour later they'd arrived. Wayne stretched as he got off the coach glanced around. Yep, Nimbasa. Just as he remembered it.

"Okay, totally lost right now," he said with a half-nervous grin. "Sure hope this city won't take as long to get through as Castelia seemed to take."

Well, it was getting close to 7pm now, so, Luka decided to head on over to Henrietta's house which he also located via the map app on his Xtranceiver. He reached the place to find Tk outside. Well, looks like he'd found the right house. He walked up to Tk, "Hi dude. So Henrietta invited you too? I wonder what's happened...." Something was definitely going on here. Since he assumed Tk had already knocked, he would wait for Henrietta to come and answer the door.
