The Machine [Open/Accepting]

((But the gun wasn't taken... She could have put it on the floor for the time being and picked it up later. After all, they were checking for hidden communication devices and trackers.))

"How did you get that?" Damien demanded. He then turned and glared at the guards for not seeing it.

"What nonsense are you spewing?" She asked him. "This is how I got you to cooperate with me, correct? What makes you think I would get rid of my only ace?" She asked, pointing the gun at her own head and looking away from him towards the wall. "I wonder if Iris would forgive me for taking my own life if it were for such a reason. I suppose I'll never know now."

"Are you really going to go through with that? To end your life in a prison cell? I would have thought you had more guts. I suppose not" Damien replied.

"You're a good actor, but if you're trying to talk me out of it, you're not very convincing." She told him. "After all, why bother putting up with years in this cage and being beneficial to you when I could just end it now and screw you over."

"That is true. I guess I'm in a bit of a pickle" Damien said. At the same time he made hand gestures to one of the guards to enter a code into a machine that vented in a sleeping gas to the cell. It was used to knock out large and troublesome prisoners for transfer, or in this case, to keep them from doing something Damien didn't want.

"Yes. Well, I suppose this is good... what's that smell?" She asked, sniffing the air. "It smells very familiar." She said, lowering her gun for a moment and turning to look at Damien. "Oh. I get it. Did you forget that you stuck me in a tank of that stuff for a full year?" She asked him. "Well, perhaps it's not the exact same stuff, but close enough." She said, spinning the barrel of the gun. "How lucky are you, Damien?" She asked, stopping the barrel and putting the gun to her head, pulling the trigger. No shot fired. "Lucky so far. Let's try again." She said, spinning the barrel while looking strait up at Damien's eyes.

Damien was starting to feel a little faint from the gas, so he shut the observation slide. "All we need is your DNA" he stated.

"All you need? You already have that in your computer. It just takes too long to synthesize." She said, removing the bullet and pocketing it while Damien wasn't looking. She continued to spin the barrel and pulled the trigger again. "Looks like you're lucky again. 2 for 2 in your favor. Time for another round." She said, spinning the barrel again. "But you know, don't you think it's rather strange..." She started. "I know I had parents. I know I had a sister. But slowly, I'm beginning to feel like I was man made. I know the immortality thing was an add on, but what about everything else? I was born in Diethelm, so it wasn't Mt. Angelo's work, and you just a few years older then I am, so it wasn't you." She said, firing another dry shot. "3 for 3. You're quite a lucky man."

"I see. And where do you think you were made?" Damien replied. He thought Shadow was bluffing with trying to shot herself...but maybe not.

"I think... in Diethelm somewhere. Perhaps under the rulers previous to you. But I don't know. There isn't much information about that time floating around." She told him. "If I was the first generation made. Whoever made me probably intended to keep a close eye on me and my children. They probably also wanted me to have a high chance of survival away from the battlefield. Thus I was made female and not male. I would be a means for integrating such DNA into the future citizens of wherever I was born so that my decedents would be more likely to survive in cases of biological warfare. I wonder... if there were more like me."

"If there were, I'm sure we would have found them" Damien said. He then ordered for the sleep gas to be sucked out, as obviously it was having no effect.

"Probably." She sighed. "Well, it doesn't matter at that much does it."

"Hm. I guess not" Damien replied. He noticed the clicking of the gun stopped. Maybe she was done with that.

"Seems like the smell's gone. So, why'd you stop by? Need something from me?" She asked.
