Meanwhile, Sephiroth who hadn't followed Mindy into her residence partially due to not wanting to get close to the Elite and in part because he wasn't so sure it was a good idea to enter a niearcim's chambers had moved outside it still in his invisible form. Wow he could hear some noises and none of them sounded like muffled screams in there. It actually was soothing in a way...
Why am I suddenly tired, he wondered. He wasn't tired a moment ago and he usually doesn't just feel tired like that. Maybe someone did something... He felt like he really needed to sit down so he moved and hid himself near some items by her house and tried to shake it off.
Now wasn't the right time to sleep. Or was God trying to put a sleep over him for now... or was it that girl or the person who carried her doing this. One of them had some sort of power over a persons body. He didn't know why and what type of creatures, but they did. He closed his eyes and sighed not opening them immediately again.

A flash of memory from something Muerte used to do crossed Sephiroth's mind before he could fully drift asleep. It was something he had also said.
Pain keeps one alert, from drifting off into idleness. I often used it in my harsh training during my youth to keep myself on edge.
Though the massive muscle-bound man didn't cut himself anymore to keep from tempting vampires with his blood, he knew specific points of pressure and other ways to cause increased pain to himself. Out of interesting conversations the two had once in a while shared about combat techniques and such, Muerte shared some of these points of pressure, relaying which caused how much certain levels of pain.
Perhaps the idea passed through Sephiroth mind in his drowsy state to try one of those to keep from passing out in a dangerous area.

Sephiroth smacked himself across the face and barely felt a damn thing in his current form. He began to hit himself in various area and nothing, nothing, and still nothing. He let out a sigh.

Veni covered everyone and settled down before getting to rest. Rosemary snuggled into Jacob all the more when she sensed him doing something with his energies. Your son is not without an ally and he knows and believes that more than most of us here. Even if he feels alone, he knows he's not alone... You haven't had your spider sense of danger tingle for him for a little while now right? He is likely fine and maybe escaped. He is very resourceful which yes isn't enough all the time but it is still possible. His distance from us isn't closing in is it? His ability to sense you is probably much less than your ability to sense him.

Fal'Jenul nodded. This I know and recognize in my mind, but it's still difficult to tell my heart otherwise.
She took a breath to calm herself further.
So far, no, I haven't sensed him being in danger anymore, and I'm fairly certain we are getting closer to him. I suppose I can only pray right now.

As the party prepared to leave their hole the Niearcim arrived on the other side of that tunnel someways above them.
Alpha said to Xun. "You flew a long way, do you need to rest?"
"Yes that was an dreadfully long flight...how about you be the one carried for a little while?"

Xun gave a slight smirk. He was starting to feel a bit of slight strain, and did want to be at top shape for whatever may lie ahead.
"I am only slightly winded... Give me a moment to recover and stretch my muscles."
He then reached into his hip flesh, pulling out a vial of the same stuff he gave Mindy before, and downed it, feeling refreshed quickly. He then sniffed the air and paused for a moment... He quietly whispered, just enough for his allies to hear him...
"I believe I smell something living.."

Sephiroth meanwhile had gone back to being just outside Mindy's house examining it trying to find a way in. Barrier, barrier, enchantment, curse... on the other hand he was detecting these a lot easier than he thought he could. Maybe it was because he was actively looking for them or maybe because they were Jiluzix dark magic spells. He thought on earlier and how he was able to go through that hunter's barrier and how their spells have a lessening effect on him. He wondered if he tried to go through these if he'd successfully not set them off. On top of that couldn't angels walk through walls like vampires can? How else do they get anywhere they want if not that or teleporting? He tried it.
Once he got over the unpleasant nauseous and oversensitivity of most of his senses feelings he noticed several things. Though the place wasn't as neat or clean as THoR it was still tidier than many places he's seen here such as the birth mother chambers. The bound creatures he saw didn't appear to be very uncomfortable in their sleep and looked healthier than he expected Niearcim slaves to look. Not the picture of health of course but not sickly starving either.
He saw what appeared to be a kitchen area, study room, and eventually Mindy's room itself with Adur's container along with other cases displaying some of Mindy's 'puppets.' The one that carried her around appeared to be resting comfortably while Mindy herself appeared to be asleep as she wasn't moving. As they both had similar markings on their bodies Sephiroth wasn't entirely sure if they both were mages, if one controlled the other, or not.

Adur mouthed "where?" Xun pointed downwards. The demon looked down and focused its energy that way and scanned for living creatures.
"Over a mile downwards," whispered Adur. She hadn't realized that certain senses were duller than she thought with Adur compared to her type. She knew the blood one was way down.
All signs indicate they want us to continue, said Alpha observing the path. Why don't we do as they want and set a trap in case they come back up this way? Even if they don't it'll only give them a few moments head start.

Xun nodded in agreement.
"That seems a sound idea to me. We shall implement that plan then."

Alpha waved the others down the tunnel and began to set his trap. To do this in front of someone like Xun was a trill and nerve wrecking at the same time. It was less never wrecking to set a trap in front of Mindy since he was more used to her than many others. Although trap spells were his specialty the trigger and timing of when they'd go off was still easy to mess up. As he casted several energy threads appeared and disappeared in the area. After he was done he began to follow Veni's fake trail.

Xun gave Alpha's trap a quick once over, and nodded in approval before then following the false trail along with Adur. Hopefully the heros would fall into the trap soon.

Those mages just passed us, said Rosemary to the others.
And that hunter one casted some sort of spell before they moved on, added Veni.

Jacob frowned.
"We don't need my hunches or anything to tell me that something strange is going on there. Something is not right there if they casted a spell before going on..."
Johnathon nodded in agreement.
It has to be some manner of trap. But how to bypass it, or trigger it without getting caught in the thing?

Rosemary and Veni (though no one could see this) stared blankly at Jacob, Milaku, and Fal'Jenul who was staring at them as if they expected them to do something. Those 3 possessed the greater magical knowledge than those two did. Sure the two vampires knew how to set magical traps better than most other things they knew for protection, but were they really better at such things than the other ones? Milaku probably the best on curses and certainly, hopefully, on niearcim magics though trap magic at Alpha's level was probably rare.
