"With that travesty out of the way, now we can finally move on," Kuni Raicho rebuked harshly. She would turn to the two waiting shugenja. "Soshi Maru, Kitsu Kyumi, you two are up. Make it a good one."

The scorpion woman would stand across from Kyumi, her black robes open just barely enough to show off her dangerously beautiful physique. Her eyes hidden by the black veil across her eyes, she would give Kyumi the quaintest little smirk. "So, little Lioness... are you ready for elimination? The only real threat to me is the Isawa girl, so if you wish to submit now, there will be no dishonor for you." She would rap her painted nails against her scroll case, assessing the girl up. {3 Raises, Spellcraft of 22 vs TN 20. Chooses to learn highest Ring, ranks in Spellcraft, ranks in Meditation, Void ring.}

Kyumi, how do you respond?

The targets would be moved to their next distance, 200 feet back! The bulls-eye was getting so small now. The base TN is 20 before any raises!

Matsu Seichiro, you're up first!

Seichiro stood up, and walked to the designated area. He would sigh, and rub his single eye, and focused on the target. He would, as usual, focus on that one inner ring.

Not surprising, he missed. Either way, he would nock another arrow, aiming at the same previous circle.

Seichiro sighed, knowing he was out. He was slightly disappointed, but he wouldn't end it. He would nock his final arrow, aiming at the same ring.

What was she- why would- Denbe put his best effort forth into not looking alarmed once more, and instead politely thanked the servant girl and took the jar... waiting until she left to lay it out of sight and hopefully out of mind, trying to forget it was there. So far he'd felt disappointed at not being able to take more full advantage of the meal offered, only having the tea, the plain rice, and a peach, of which he was prepared to have a second.

He couldn't quite tell if he could smell cumin on either of his dishes with this many people having their food all in one place, much less hold some up to sniff more closely, so he avoided the fish and rest for the time being.

Kojiro would salute the one eyed Matsu who's weakness finally caught up with him and then awaited the Mantis' turn with eager anticipation.

Hisashi would watch Seichiro fail at his attempts to hit the newly ranged target, and as the two passed each other, the Mantis would pat his opponents shoulder out of respect. Seichiro had been a worthy opponent, and he had nothing but respect for the man. Whether Hisashi would be joining him or holding out for another round remained to be seen, but at least he had made it this far. There would be no regrets.

Following the tactics that had carried him so far, he would aim and fire at the distant target.

The target would be missed entirely as Hisashi loosed the arrow. Taking a deep and concentrated breath, he would aim again with the same intensity as he had started the tournament with, then fire again.

The arrow would sink into the very edge of the target, landing Hisashi 20 points. Even if he failed, he would be the first to do so with any score whatsoever. Again pleased that he had made it this far he would smile and look at the target. He would need a bulls-eye to stay in the game. A feat he had yet to perform.

"You have been a worthy opponent, as have all the participants of this tournament. Success or failure, I thank you for this honorable battle." He was speaking to no one in particular (perhaps the target itself) but he felt it made known that he was pleased with the results no matter the outcome.

With one final draw of the bow, he would search deep inside of him for all the power and strength to land the bulls-eye. His breathing was controlled and his focus was intense. Spending his last remaining void point, he would put his fate in the hands of destiny, and loose the arrow.

Destiny would deem Hisashi unworthy of victory on this day as the arrow sailed past the target. He would smile none the less, and bow towards the target out of respect. Leaving the range, he would acknowledge his opponents with another bow, then turn to Doji Kita with a final, deeper one.

"Arigato Gozaimasu, everyone."

With that he would stand to the side with the others and await whatever happened next.

Kojiro would return the Mantis' bow, perhaps not as deeply. Hisashi was still a Mantis, but he had competed well.

The Scorpion would then line up for his own shots on the target. For his first shot, he picked the 40 point band as his target.
