The Machine [Open/Accepting]

Once they were all on the helipad, Damien turned to the group and announced that he wanted to select a few to accompany him and the Chief General for security. He looked at the group and picked one, then Shadow, then another one of the new soldiers to accompany them. Each of them was given a rifle, though Damien had Monica make sure none of them had any bullets in them, just in case Shadow tried something funny. Damien had his own rifle stashed somewhere in the helicopter if he or Jian absolutely needed it.

Shadow said nothing, fondling the gun and quickly noticing it had no bullets. She frowned and kept it close as they were loaded into the helicopter. She didn't like where this was going, but it didn't look like she was going to have much of a choice at the moment.

Damien gave the coordinates to the pilot of the helicopter and then sat back as the chopper took off and then headed in the direction it was assigned.

((Damien plans on putting Shadow in an experimentation camp in a secret area. I'm wondering which would be better. The one with a military base that uses soldiers considered 'weak' as test subjects, or the other one mentioned in the list of prison camps? Would it be better to have Shadow close to the soldiers or further away?))

The plane landed at one of the secret human experimentation camps, though that fact was concealed to the outside world. Damien decided it would be easier to have Shadow placed in the one that experimented on weak soldiers to try and make them stronger. It would be much easier to transfer the DNA samples and other things without too much hassle or secrecy. Damien got out of the helicopter to meet the commander of the facility and was greeted with armed guards who held weapons that actually contained bullets.

Shadow and the two other soldiers were unloaded. Shadow turned her head and saw Damien walking the other way. Almost immediately, Shadow went to the commander in charge, who was on the other side of the helicopter. "Excuse me, but all three of these guns are empty. I'm glad nothing happened, but just for future reference, can you have someone make sure they're actually loaded. It would be bad if a fiasco, like the priestess incident a year ago, occurred and we couldn't properly defend our leader."

"They're empty?" He asked, taking the gun and checking the cartage. "Here. Take mine. I'll send a message to central." He said, taking her empty gun and handing her his assault rifle.

"Thank you so much." She replied with a proper salute. She then turned, gun in hand, and stood with the two other soldiers.

Damien returned and then was approached by said commander.

The commander saluted and spoke. "Dearest Absolute Leader, there was a grave error with the weapons provided to your security team. It seems their rifles were all empty. I certainly wouldn't want someone as important as you to not have any protection, should something happen" he said. "Luckily, one of your team pointed that out. Someone must have tried to sabotage you." The commander was a little worried about how Damien would react, but considered the safety of the two most important men in the country to be of most importance.

"Ah, I see" Damien replied, simply. He looked at Shadow and narrowed his eyes a little, suspecting it was her. He turned back to the commander. "Thank you for informing me. Something like this could have had serious consequences" he said after turning back.

Shadow gave a small smile, taking the surrounding area into account quickly while his back was turned. She knew exactly why they were here, but escaping was a whole different story. She needed a good exit before she was taken behind bars. She then looked around, waiting for an officer to come and give them the drill on what they should be doing.

Jian also exited the helicopter, looking around and walking over towards Damien. "How should we proceed?" He asked him.

Damien took Jian with him and walked a little ways away to speak privately. "Well, we need to ditch the other two soldiers so that they don't find the secret experiment lab. Perhaps a sleeping gas is required. I don't want to lose two good soldiers. Also, seems the sneaky little devil got onto us. She reported the empty rifles to the commander so now they're armed with loaded weapons. While that will help us with the other two, that means she has one as well. I expect she's going to try and use it to flee" he said in a low voice.

Jian softly swore and nodded. "Should we just order the two to watch the helicopter out here and take her in with us for... I don't know, to say she passed the second test or something for observing the guns have no bullets?"

Shadow looked out and took note of the guards scanning the parameter. She wondered if Damien would try to point a gun at her when he still needed her blood pumping.

"So um... you're pretty cute." The inexperienced officer began, looking her over carefully.

"I think your eyes are in the wrong place, soldier." She snapped.

Damien nodded. "Good idea" he said. He turned back to the group. "Alright. We'll take one escort soldier with us into the building. We need two to guard the helicopter" Damien announced. He the looked at Shadow and pointed at her. "You! Since you discovered that the rifles were empty, you get to be our escort. Consider it a reward for your observance" he ordered.
