The Machine [Open/Accepting]

Damien thought for a moment. It was tempting, but the consequences could cause problems. "Nah, we don't have time. I just need a piece of paper and a pen" he said, looking around for those things.

"I'll go look back in this room. I'm sure there is some somewhere." Jian said, turning when suddenly, Lianne's door opened and she stepped out dressed as a lowly nun.

She stiffened and froze when she saw Damien, and hoped he wouldn't recognize her by her face. After all, he was one of the few who knew what she actually looked like.

Damien did recognize Lianne's face. "Forget the pen and paper" he said, waving a hand at Jian. He then walked over to the Grand Priestess while removing his military cap. He then gave her a small bow. "Hello, Grand Priestess. I hope you are feeling well" he said.

Lianne suddenly turned dark red. "M-Mr Blackrose, I... T-this is uhh..." putting her sleeve to her face and looking around before rushing into the green room and letting out a few small coughs. She pulled out an inhaler and used it before turning back to the door.

"What? Was it something I did or said?" Damien asked, a little surprised by Lianne's reaction.

Jian let out a fake cough before wafting his hand over his face as if to say she had no veil on. Still, Jian thought it was strange how she was walking around in a nun outfit instead of her normal heavy silks and veil.

"Are you coming back out?" Damien asked. "We'll leave if that's what you prefer." He wasn't sure what Lianne was doing in there.

Slowly, Lianne came back out. "Sorry, you just... startled me. I thought you already left." She replied, not making eye contact. "I- I'm fine. I just have an allergy to that particular incense, which inflames my lungs and nearly kills me every time I have to do that ceremony. The council won't let me change it out for a different one. It's stupid. So um... can I help you M-Mr. Blackrose?"

"Well, we just came to inform you or whoever is in charge of defense here that someone we had in custody has fled here and has some organisation after her. We think that they may come here after her and we didn't want anyone to think we caused an assassination in this city. I know that there could be serious consequences if people thought we did" Damien explained.

"So you don't really care whether or not you get your prisoner back. You just don't want a scandal to happen if someone else kills this prisoner." Lianne stated. "Did I... miss something?"

"Well, we'd prefer if we got our prisoner back, but she's a slippery one. We don't know much about her, but obviously our government is not the only thing she's rubbed the wrong way. However, if you do capture her, you could hand her over to our custody. It would be wonderful and you wouldn't have to deal with her" Damien explained. "And I doubt a raid on this city to find this person would look good internationally for us"

"Uh huh...." She nodded a still feeling as if something was off. "We get runaway criminals all the time. It's pretty common. So... this criminal must be fairly notorious to both escape you and this assassin group to come here. And for you to come here personally for this matter... no. It still doesn't quite make sense to me. Did she steal something or did she know too much?"

"I'll just say that she carries something special that could be of very good use to us if we can figure out how to make it work correctly" Damien said. That was all he was going to reveal. For all Lianne knew it could be plans for some huge weapon.

"I'll be honest. I don't really like the sound of that." She replied, folding her arms. "Because the only two things that are going through my head when you say 'special' are lover or expensive weapon part. Both of which are things you could get another one of, but would rather not lose if you didn't have to."

"I'll leave you with that belief. In any case, we should be on our way before the really bad storm rolls in. Thank you for your time, Priestess. We shall be on our way" Damien said, nodding his head at the last part.
